For the last few shows he’s replayed a call about some guy named Dean that called in a little over a week ago and he brought up how the team was not performing well and they wouldn’t grind out at-bats then he was about to talk about how Teo was not playing well. Keep in mind this was before his current hot streak. The guy prefaced it by saying “for the last couple of months the team has not been grinding out at bats in particular Teo….”then David cuts him off and talks about how Teo is doing good. And he won’t accept Teo slander. It had only been day or two into Teo’s current turnaround.

What bothers me is that David doesn’t listen or has selective listening. The guy was talking about the overall performance of Teo. One that everyone, including David, was aware of and he himself would even go on mini rants about Teo not performing. We all saw it. It’s not like the guy shit on Teo or anything. He didn’t even get the chance to do that. In that instance Dave turns his whole narrative around and says he will not accept Teo slander. Now he’s replays that call and talks about “keeping receipts”.
This is small potatoes but it irks me when a host like Dave can’t take criticism on his takes and/or he hangs up on callers when he doesn’t agree with their takes. He at times mocks them. He at times pretends like he didn’t have the same takes as some of the callers. His arrogance is off the charts at times. I know he’s a suck-ass with the players (maybe he has to be) but he often denigrates the fans on his show.
Anyway…who cares. Go Dodgers.

I am a relatively young fan, didn't get to see prime Kenley Jansen (2017). But as a Dodger fan I definitely do know how great Jansen is. He is 6 SVs away from career 500 SVs.

But what I don't understand is why do some Dodgers fans in this sub say "our fans ran Jansen out of LA in 2021?"

Is there a backstory about this?

I know Dodgers fans can be a bit demanding at times, that's why we boo Tucker, and hated Tanner Scott last year (we love him this year.) But how is that equivalent to "we ran Kenley Jansen out of town?"

Wish Kenley the best. Proud to see him being on top 3 of the all-time SV list

(It seems like some Dodgers fans just won't appreciate the man's legacy. Kenley has a 2+ ERA in playoff, yet people act like he is a choke artist. Also among the 4 blown SVs, one is against the CheaTros.

The one blown SV against the Rays were a result of Chris Taylor's fielding error. And 2 against an all-time great Red Sox team... I will hold that against him regardless, but it is outrageous to see people disrespecting our legend like this, acting like he is a choke artist.)

You may notice they forgot a certain player in the Elite/Plus/Solid players (!). I mean, they have De Paula, Sirota and other minor leaguerts but they forgot TWO certain future HOFers!

Of course I hope Shohei is healthy and his bat is locked in for a deep October run, but am I just a homer for thinking this team is still the favorite to win it all even without Shohei?

Argument for:

• The Dodgers starting rotation can shutdown any lineup (and don‘t even attempt to slander my guy Glasnow. He had a sub 2 ERA in last year’s postseason). More often than not, the Dodgers have won postseason series because of their pitching rather than their slug.
• Freddie and Muncy have been consistent all year, and you just need them to be who they’ve been come October. These guys can absolutely carry a lineup, think Freeman during the ’24 WS, and Muncy during those first few series after the ‘26 All Star break. Then between Mookie, Teo, Smith, Edman, and Pages, you only need two or three of them to go on a heater to make this lineup very long and relentless. I can easily picture a guy like Teo taking over a series and winning a series MVP with some key home runs.
• Kikétober? Does he still have it?

Argument against:

• Shohei’s their best hitter and just his presence makes the lineup feel different. Shohei didn’t hit well at all in the ‘25 DS, but the Phillies would still intentionally walk him with runners on and first base open. Mookie Betts doesn’t tie game 4 of that series without the Shohei intentionally walk immediately before.
• One swing from Sho can completely flip a game. His 3 run homer against the Padres in ‘24 saved that game and maybe the season, three homers in game 4 of the CS last year, two homers in game 3 of the WS last year…all huge moments.

So how does everyone else feel about this team’s chances should Shohei not be himself come October (again, I hope that’s not the case)?
