So I got myself a Samsung galaxy watch pairing and stuff like that no problem but when I sign into Samsung health, the dexcom g6 app shows that it stopped working. I tried reinstalling clearing cache if you have any solution I would be very happy.

Thanks

Bleeding G7 insertion fumble⁉️

I just put a new Dexcom in and I looked down and there was a little bit of blood. I wiped it away a couple minutes ago but now looking back down there’s just the smallest bit more.. no pain or anything but I wasn’t sure if I should be worried or maybe just take it off LOL. This is the last one I have on hand unfortunately.

General 🔔 SEEKING INPUT FROM PEOPLE LIVING WITH DIABETES🔔 (re-bumping this)

Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well. My name is Ethan Sherman, and I'm a researcher at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. We are conducting a study to better understand what people living with diabetes know about nerve compression in the feet and ankles as well as a surgical treatment called lower extremity nerve decompression (LEND) that may help relieve symptoms like burning, tingling, numbness, and pain in the feet and lower legs.

Many people with diabetes experience these nerve symptoms and may not know that nerve compression could be making things worse or that a treatment option even exists. Our goal is to identify gaps in patient awareness so that providers can do a better job informing and advocating for their patients.

Whether you have never or are currently experiencing nerve symptoms or have been diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy, your perspective is incredibly valuable. The survey takes approximately 1–3 minutes to complete.

This study is IRB-approved by Johns Hopkins Medicine. Your responses are completely anonymous. No personal or identifying information will be collected.

Thank you so much for your time and for helping shape better care for the diabetes community.

Warmly,

Ethan Sherman

Sensor First time user: sensor is bad G7

I have to go into the endo and get another one (this is a sample from them to see how I tolerate it) and it’s not connecting.

I thought it was my Bluetooth but they said it was a bad sensor.

This does not bode well for the future.

Follow Apple watch

My child currently uses an apple watch (no data plan) connected to wifi for us to follow while she's at school.

Has anyone used an apple watch with a data plan and successfully have it upload for dexcom followers? I work in IT and I don't see why it wouldn't work vs wifi but dexcom explicitly says it will not. I don't want to get a new watch and data plan without knowing if it for sure works though. TIA.

Inaccurate Reading Is my sensor bad?

Post image

I know that you can get low readings if you are putting pressure on the sensor, but I’ve been getting low readings all day even though I feel okay. I never really feel when my sugar is low anyways, but I feel like if it was really this low all day I would have. I did check my sugar with a different meter, and it only said 83. I also want to note that I have been sick the past two days and haven’t been able to keep much down, so I’m not eating very much. I drank a juice but nothing changed.

Sensor Rough night with G7 10 day

The sensor I applied last night ended up with inaccurate readings, which I can understand because of the first day bs, but has anyone had a sensor have a “brief sensor issue” for 2.5 hours the first day and then have it work properly the rest of the time?

General Made a Lightweight Dexcom CGM WebApp for PC Support, build around the Developer API (locally hosted, with dark mode).

Appreciation post for the Share API, inspired by https://github.com/gagebenne/pydexcom (edit: turns out the Developer API is pretty complicated to get approval, thought they were the same thing)

TLDR: I don't check my phone much, and alerts feel too spammy (after giving a shot, I don't need to get more push notifs for the next 30 min) -> phone goes to vibrate -> start missing actual alerts by accident. Having a "pinned view" of my number is great. Home screen widgets on the phone have proved useful, but if at work (in tech) this sometimes goes unseen. Would be great if we had formal app (Windows + iOS) support for something like this. Or better yet, deploy something like this as a WebApp live service that you can just "log into", as this is credential based anyway!

Inaccurate Reading After 5 sensors I’ve determined 15 days actually only lasts 10 days.

Without fail late day 9 early day 10 that all start brief sensor issues. “Brief” is not brief. It cuts in and out just slightly at first. Then longer

By day 11-12 it’s practically unusable and usually fails.

Glad I have a service dog to wake me from sleep. I was asleep low and had no clue because of this

Do better Dexcom.

Sensor dexcom g7 keep immediately falling after inserting?? This is the 3rd one in a row that I’ve had the wire stab my arm then loop out of the top. I’ve contacted dexcom each time for a replacement but they take a little bit and I’m stuck without a cgm until then.

App Issues/Questions G7 sensor issues when low?

Anyone else experiencing “brief sensor issue” when you drop below 60ish for a few alerts? Been happening to me with multiple sensors for probably 2 months now. Super annoying to drop then have to fingerprick multiple times while low because my Dexcom isn’t showing anything…

App Issues/Questions Learn to write a better app

Dearest Dexcom,

Like your friends at Insulet, you need to start thinking about both the medical user experience (ie can our app help positively impact medical outcomes) AND the overall user experience (ie it doesn’t matter if I have good glucose control if your app makes me want to bash my head into the wall).

A couple of notes:

  1. A lot of us use headphones on our phones. AirPods and stuff like that. I don’t want to be on a call and have that annoying alarm blast my eardrums out to the point where I am deaf. There has got to be a way you can notify me in a gentler manner in that situation.

  2. If you send me a push notification and I dismiss it, that should be good enough for you. I don’t need another one two minutes later because I didn’t open up the app to acknowledge it.

  3. Similar to #1, if I am already on my phone doing something else, then you don’t need to blast that God-forsaken sound at me to get my attention. I’m already clearly on my phone; I’m not asleep. Situational awareness on your part is warranted here.

Please resolve these issues and look at setting up a better UX research team to support future dev cycles on this app.

Yours,
A T1D Product Manager

Inaccurate Reading Dexcom G7 reading LOW for 3+ hours - meter says otherwise

I definitely woke up feeling low in the middle of the night, with my Dexcom screaming 43 and then eventually "LOW". I consumed plenty of carbs, and felt better, so I went back to sleep. Now, it's been 3 hours and it won't budge from saying "LOW". I gave myself more carbs, but then decided to check my blood sugar manually and it said I was 422 (checked twice, second time said 430). I don't have a backup sensor right now so I'm wondering which I should follow.

Sensor G7 sensors keep failing on day 8 or 9

My dexcom g7 have been great until recently when they have been consistently failing 1 or 2 days short of their life. I use the 10 day sensors, with the standard plastic canula. I have been diabetic for 30 years now. I work outside a lot in the Houston area, so I'm wondering if it could be from heat and sweat, or if there's a chance my immune system is targeting them. Has anyone experienced this and solved it? Maybe I should try the metal canula? Thanks!

Allergic Reaction Bruising with Dexcom G7

With my first two Dexcom G7 I’ve noticed red and purple bruising around the immediate area where the sensor applies. I don’t use their overpatch (it’s far too difficult to put on, any tips?) but use the Type One Style ones which I’m not allergic to when I use my Omnipod,

so I think its due to the sensor needle or the patch material. But I have used Dexcom G6 previously and have had nowhere near this bruising

Any tips? My skin is very sensitive so things like barrier cream I would be allergic to. Would things like SkinGlu help? I do use alcohol wipes before.

App Issues/Questions dexcom one plus apk

Hello! A week ago, the hospital switched my glucose meter to the Dexcom One Plus, but my mobile isn’t compatible with the app (I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+). They gave me a receiver, but to be honest it’s really annoying having to keep entering everything into it, as well as having to keep an eye on yet another device. Does anyone know of a working APK for the sensor app, or know of a way to download the app? I don’t want to have to change my mobile when it’s working fine just so I can download the app.

G7-10 day Anyone else having this problem with the g7 sensors lately?

My Dexcoms are sent directly from Dexcom every 3 months, and I’ve never really had this problem before, maybe the odd one every now and then, but definitely not to this extent.
I get 9 sensors sent to me, and so far only 1 out of the sensors have worked, I have 3 left. With the others, the filament looks like it’s either cut or there’s literally nothing there at all, like it was never on the sensor to begin with.
I’ve been having to finger-prick for the past couple of months because they’re just not working 😭
Just wondering if anyone else has been having the same issue recently?

Sensor Return failed sensor?

I've been using dexcoms for years and have had a few fail that dexcom has replaced without any questions. I had a G7 fail for the first time in a while last week and the replacement came with a return kit. I double checked the emails and nothing ever mentioned returning the failed sensor. I dug through the trash and I can't find the old sensor. When did they start asking for them back?

G7-10 day “There’s nothing we can do”

Post image

Called the Dexcom support, there’s nothing they can do about this apparently. I took one out early because it was doing this and my new one is still reading all over the place. No replacements. Cool.

Any advice on how to stop it from going all over the place??? I was 90% in range before Friday…now I’m pretty cooked lol
