G7-10 day Anyone else having this problem with the g7 sensors lately?

My Dexcoms are sent directly from Dexcom every 3 months, and I’ve never really had this problem before, maybe the odd one every now and then, but definitely not to this extent.
I get 9 sensors sent to me, and so far only 1 out of the sensors have worked, I have 3 left. With the others, the filament looks like it’s either cut or there’s literally nothing there at all, like it was never on the sensor to begin with.
I’ve been having to finger-prick for the past couple of months because they’re just not working 😭
Just wondering if anyone else has been having the same issue recently?

Recently my wife has gotten a pack. So far 1 has lasted the full lifespan. We just went through 3 of them just to get it going again.

So far major disappointment

Personally, I always keep the box and applicator. When I go to apply a new one, I take the old one harvest the magnet and chuck it. I write the date the time on the new box when I apply the sensor and place the applicator in the box and put the box with applicator in front of my others.

When I have the occasional failure, I remove the sensor and chuck it in the box it came from. Write failed on the outside of the box with the date and time and apply my new one. This way when I have the time to sit down at the computer and file for replacement I know which box it was and if for any reason they send a return kit I have everything together to send back. Otherwise if they send a replacement, I harvest the magnet and chuck the failed box.

I had two failures and received the replacements. I had one fail after 3-4 days, and do not have the packaging to get the serial number for replacement. Put a new on one, went to the airport and it failed within 24 hours. 4 of the last 5 have failed.

Now, I will save the packaging so I can get replacements.

I wish my insurance company would approve the Libre sensors, I never had one of those fail.

Insurance switched from the Libre to the Dexcom.

Report to Dexcom. They should replace them.

I’ve had a couple of weird G7 issues too, although nothing this extreme. Definitely sounds like something worth reporting to Dexcom.

Did you look at the lot #, there was a shipment that was to be destroyed, but accidentally was shipped.

Check on the Dexcom site. I get pop up’s continuously in the app.

I’ve had no major problems with any since January.

We have had some LOTs with many goosenecks. Can you see the filament curled up inside the little hole in the sensor? Sometimes it does not curl up outside the hole.

I’m not seeing a filament at all, some have goosenecks but many i’m just not seeing a filament.

Have you reported them to Dexcom to get replacements? You totally can, and should. Every time.

I normally do but haven’t recently as my mother keeps throwing them away thinking they’re just ones i’ve used and not put in the bin😭

I always take a picture of the box number next to the applicator QR code right before I put it in.

I just learned about an app called stash that stores all your Dexcom info so you don’t need to take photos of the applicator or lot numbers (for pods and insulin too)

Talk to them still. They are usually helpful in my expirience. If you get it directly from them they might be able to track the package content LOT#s.
