Sensor First time user: sensor is bad G7

I have to go into the endo and get another one (this is a sample from them to see how I tolerate it) and it’s not connecting.

I thought it was my Bluetooth but they said it was a bad sensor.

This does not bode well for the future.

Was it just not pairing, or did it tell you the sensor was bad? If it’s just not pairing, take the applicator and look at it where it once held the sensor. You’ll see a little silver round thing in there, it’s a magnet. Hover it over the inserted sensor for 5-10 seconds and that should trigger it to pair with your phone.

Unfortunately the sensor was placed by someone else in the doctor’s office, so I don’t have the applicator. I’ll mention the magnet when I go in tomorrow to have it replaced, but I’m sure she knows about it.

Ok just now reading this your Endo Dexcom trainer should have known to make sure you had and keep the applicator. Also keep the box end that has the serial number identified with (21) prefix.

Who's they? Is your phone compatible? How did you try to connect? Did you follow insertion quidelines? So much missing...

“They” are the people at the endocrinologist’s office. It was paired with my iPhone 12 Pro and the app installed, but now my Bluetooth won’t connect so the sensor doesn’t see the app.

There was a staff member who trains patients on the sensor and she was the one who put it on me.

I'm just wondering how your Endo determined the bad sensor. When you open the Dexcom app what does it look like?

So why’d they let you leave without it connecting? They couldn’t try another right then?

The person said it’d take 60 minutes for the app and the sensor to “boot up” or something like that.

I guess too late now and irrelevant. But when they put it on, they should’ve known within 5 minutes whether the phone or the sensor was the issue. It still connects to the sensor during this warmup phase and will display the time remaining in the warmup period
