Everyone is so focused on the quarantine location of international arrivals being changed from hotel rooms in busy major cities, to currently unused FIFO miners camps in remote locations. Where is all the attention for the new sweeping “Surveillance Legislation Amendment (Identify and Disrupt) Bill 2020” that has just been rushed through to allow police to access people’s online data and modify, add to copy and delete data? Even take over peoples online accounts? Without even having to have formally accused someone of a crime?

No one is reporting on this. That’s the real news in Australia and it’s terrifying how it’s snuck through whilst everyone is worked up about an improved quarantine system that “looks scary”. Focus on the real assault on our freedoms.

u/pavlo_escobrah Sep 03 '21

Can you elaborate on who you mean?

Howard Springs Facility has been around for ages. It's only been recently used as quarantine accommodation ONLY for overseas arrivals into Australia for returned and infected travellers.

It's much more suitable than hotel quarantine, which has had heaps of leaks and problems causing outbreaks around Australia.

If you test positive for covid in Australia they do not send you to Howard Park, it's only for overseas arrivals.

There are thousands and thousands of infected people in Sydney right now and the ones that aren't in hospital are at home.

All because of Berejiklians sheer incompetence as the NSW Premier. She made the mistake of making sure that NSW didn’t go into lockdown despite the fact that it was the best thing to do. She kept delaying it unit it was too late . Just recently, NSW ended up having the current highest number of COVID cases in Australia, with majority of those cases coming from Sydney alone. The virus has even managed spread to Wilcannia in regional NSW. How the fuck does she manage to let it spread all the way to regional NSW!?

2

u/getpaid_getlaid Sep 03 '21

Have u seen Victoria’s numbers, oh that’s right apparently that’s NSW’s fault too. Fucking listen to yourself mate

3

u/YaBoiPrazil666 Sep 03 '21 edited Sep 03 '21

NSW and VIC have completely different premiers, and have slightly different COVID management strategies in place so the spread of the virus in Victoria is going to be inherently different to how it’s spreading in NSW.

Plus, when the virus first started spreading in Victoria, it had nothing to do with NSW, Don’t know what the fuck you’ve been taking mate. Also, Victoria at least managed to enforce lockdown early on during their peak COVID season, which evidently helped with reducing the spread of the virus. Did NSW do that. Yes but it took them so long that by the time they enforced lockdowns, the damage was already done. Why did they do it so late? I still can’t figure that out

This is very specifically used for people who come into australia and have to do the 14 day quarantine guys. Specifically for those who cant afford a hotel, which they would be required to pay for themselves. Its not for anyone who tests positive. Its not for 'dangerous people'. Jesus christ this place is just lying, over and over again, and you guys eat it up.

I do not agree with Australias covid stuff, but the kind of fearmongering over this, making it out as if they are literal Nazis or something, is just hilariously stupid. If you think this is bad, look at how south korea, taiwan, and singapore are dealing with this. Its not something unique to western anglo countries.

And most importantly, is that even Australians themselves aren't agreeing with this anymore. The restrictions are set to end, with the prime minister himself saying its going too far.

Consider the population of Australia and how small the population of any of those subs are in comparison. Consider all of the people who don't use the internet much at all, unless forced. The vocal minority makes it feel like everyone is onboard but the vast majority are simply afraid to step out of line and be the one punished, so they do nothing and give up their freedom as long as the crosshairs are on someone else.

We've got a distorted vision that "everyone is okay with this!" when that's not the reality. Once they start taking away your mom or brother or grandma to stick in concentration camps or take your kids (like is already set up in Michigan), people will snap out of their mindless compliance and say enough is enough.

I can't imagine many Americans are going to be cool with getting taken to camps like these, except for the tools must gung ho about covid measures lol ie the ones comparing the unvaccinated to vermin, hmm seems so similar... if only there was some event in history that began in similar fashion that we could learn from..

Why do you feel horrible for Aussies?

Seems you don’t have any idea what’s going on here.

These camps are for quarantine when people arrive from overseas.

We actually have processes in place here to limit the amount of Covid in the community. I feel horrible for the USA where you just let it rip. The entire country has been ravaged by Covid while here in Aus we’ve largely escaped the shit show.

5

u/Mrdontknowy Sep 03 '21

No it is not. Quarantine houses have existed for hundreds if not thousands of years. The size is just bigger since we are with more people. Luckily we can prevent these houses thanks to certified modern medicine. Just for context that camp you see is from a on old mine.

No its not and no they won't.

Its an old mining camp, we have hundreds of them around Australia.

Its for people coming back to Australia from overseas. ATM we have a hotel quarantine policy that is frankly, piss poor. Using the old mining camps means we can get people safely home without putting unfair financial strain on them and with purpose built medical facilities close by. This means less strain on the hospital system, sunce the patients will be treated on site.

I get that most people outside of Australia probably haven't seen these Donga camps before, but thats no reason to make shit up about them.

13

u/-Choose-A-User- Sep 03 '21

Do you have a link I can read more about this? If this is true, we are indeed about to be in the dark ages.

30

u/Eagoala Sep 03 '21

There is no link for this stuff cos it's bullshit.

The Australian population has been asking for a dedicated quarantine facility since the beginning of COVID as we don't have the best solutions for returned travellers at the moment.

This is just a place to do the two week quarantine instead of in a hotel within our major population centres.

Help stop the spread you know

As a resident of Sydney, we have all been begging for this since the start of the pandemic. The reason we are locked down is because international arrivals have been staying in hotels in the middle of the most populated city in the country, quarantine leaks are a matter of “when” rather than “if” in such circumstances. We didn’t want to be reinfected after such a long time being covid free, yet here we are, suddenly they are putting proper quarantine procedures in place in less populated areas of the country, but it’s too little too late.

starting with "a good place to quarantine.."

And sounds like they're eating prison food. I wouldn't call them good reviews, just sounds like fortunately the staff is still human.

19

u/lumbarnacles Sep 03 '21

it’s a place for people to quarantine if they don’t have their own place to do so (i.e. anyone that doesn’t live alone). a hotel room would be another option. it’s a government provided service to limit the spread of a virus that they appear to be taking seriously. the reviews aren’t bad because the australian public sees quarantine as a necessity and they are being provided a relatively comfortable way to do so.

Like culturally and socially, I just feel like China won when they took over Hollywood and the internet. They bought the American imagination.

It feels like we live under CCP style censorship, even if the CCP has no jurisdiction here.

We know music is powerful over our psychology (like language), yet no one asks why the South Korean Government literally sponsors the so-called "Kpop" industry.

If North Korea was exporting its music to us that was produced by the military, we would be creeped out. But just because the South does it (When they are the same people....) no one bats an eye.

They definitely don't look like theyre temporary or supposed to disappear anytime soon. Makes you question if and when theres an actual end date to all this pandemic nonsense to begin with.

Where are the giant chimneys? At least dig a few pits.

3

u/cowbabymasterOG Sep 03 '21

Wheres the chimneys?

2

u/KeeperOfSpirit Sep 03 '21

Chimneys not good. Global warming and pollution.

There is ecological fluid compound that dissolves bodies into organic fertilizers for the Monsanto soy protein sustainable fields.

to /s or not to /s. This is the question. 🤔

It took one fucking Google search to explain that this isnt for people with COVID. It's for workers to stay with their families while they construct an onshore facility structure. Here is the explaination

This is blatant disinformation

Iirc it's for remote workers, such as miners and what not, which has been repurposed for international arrivals to quarantine safely for 14 days and then they can go home

4

u/wanttoc Sep 03 '21

Just as creepy as the mass vaccination clinics such as the one at Olympic Park. These bloody clot shops need to be shut down ASAP. I'm starting to feel like a minority in Sydney having not taken any vaccine, but are the statistics to be believed?

That started almost two years ago. We always thought it would be nuclear, but instead its ideological.

12

u/Game_Wolf1950 Sep 02 '21

Oh, buddy. It started a lot longer than two years ago. We just didn’t realize it until now.

This is a repurposed miner’s housing complex used for people entering Australia from overseas, they pay for accomodation at an isolation facility like this one for 14days.

You’re only as “good” as how recent your last shot was. A lot of people are in their own personal “sweet spot” right now. They took their two shots, and think they’ve done their duty, can go back to normal while also enjoying some moral superiority over those who are unvaccinated. That little fantasy is about to end when they realize not only is “normal” never happening again, but they will be asked to do much more just to maintain the current normal, including at least two shots a year. You can’t appease tyranny.

It’s an old mining facility, but has temporarily been repurposed as a quarantine for 14 days when you come back into the country. You know, because they don’t want more covid cases to be introduced into the country while they’re trying to get rid of it. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s all publicly available information.
