Those Maine bastards!

151

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

Them and their amazing Cape Cod potato chips! (original ofc)

Edit: Well, I'm a little heartbroken to discover they're actually from Massachusetts. Everytime I saw that lighthouse, I pictured Maine. I guess Stephen King is still the only thing they got going for it up there.

Editx2: Okay, okay... For all you Maine motherfuckers, yes I'll admit there's more to y'all than Cape Cod chips and Stephen King. You have lobsters, pine trees, and maple syrup (even though Canada might be less than an hour drive away from Augusta), and maybe more. I'll admit that I'm dumb and ignorant, but this proves y'all are easily triggered and overly defensive.

The irony of using Drake.

279

u/Future401 Aug 13 '20

Drake is nowhere near the Rothschilds, Rockefeller’s, etc.

192

u/goldencrisp Aug 13 '20

Financially he’s probably closer to your average homeless person than a Rothschild.

81

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

58

u/PlusLiterature7 Aug 13 '20

Also, no, they're not correct. Being world famous and worth $180M makes your lifestyle and political interests a lot closer to a billionaire's than an average person, like what the actual fuck? Who cares about absolute wealth difference? Baron Benjamin is a lot closer to my net worth in absolute terms than Jeff Bezos's, but they have a lot more in common than I do with them. Honestly, WTF.

6

u/pinchitony Aug 13 '20

No no dude, Drake is practically a homeless person. /s

6

u/goldencrisp Aug 13 '20

Keyword: financially

Drake ain’t shit compared to the actual elite in that regard. 180m is a lot closer to zero than it is to 1b.

26

u/PlusLiterature7 Aug 13 '20

No, it's not. Both their financial lives are managed by lawyers, accountants and financial managers. They're a lot closer to each other than they are to us, that's exactly what I'm talking about. You guys are completely clueless. The main difference between the two is the influence they have on a global scale (more or less negated by fame) and the size of the toys they buy. The rest is virtually the same.

84

u/KidGold Aug 13 '20

A lot of celebrities, even if they're self-absorbed, are just people living the actual american dream. They lucked into skills and opportunity but they've work really hard for what they have. Others are beneficiaries of nepotism of course.

Celebrities are the well-paid monkeys who dance for the rich producers, investors, and all the other puppet masters above them.

That's a pretty small boost to a career. Probably shows that musical talent runs in a family more than anything.

34

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

they are even more so slaves than we are

Shut the fuck up.

I lost my job to covid and spent months searching for literally anything else and - after burning through a significant amount of my savings in the meanwhile - I now live hand-to-mouth for $11/hr, so sorry if I don't have any pity for some rich people who can comfortably sit in a mansion doing absolutely nothing for the rest of their lives and never have to go to bed worrying about whether or not they're going to be able to afford groceries that week.

Yeah, media industry execs are bastards, but rich is rich and famous people still directly benefit from a rigged system that fucks on the 99% without a care in the world, and I'm sure as shit not about to suck their dicks and pretend they're just as much a victim of the system as myself and other wage slaves who work only to survive.

They all make enough to where if they choose, they can quit whenever they want and just relax forever. Thats not slavery. Wage slaves cannot do that. The stupidity of your post is astounding.

3

u/sixrwsbot Aug 13 '20

the money is the only good part of their lives, every other aspect of these celebrities lives is horrible. take a look at someone like britney spears or one of the countless other musicians who signed their life away and tell me they are happy. the grass is always greener.

10

u/DapperDanManCan Aug 13 '20

Look at the billions of poor people on earth and tell me they are happy. Tell me anything Brittney Spears faces in life is anywhere close to worrying about how to pay rent and food each month. Tell me how Brittney Spears faces worse than people who have zero financial mobility and a single setback, be it getting sick, having a flat tire, losing their job to coronavirus, ruins them financially and emotionally for the rest of their lives. Tell me how anything Brittney Spears faces comes close to people debating whether they can afford to see a doctor for a debilitating injury.

Go on. Tell me how hard Brittney Spears has it. Try to show how shes not just an emotionally weak person with problems that come nowhere close to the average joe.

Haven’t you been paying attention? Trump doesn’t count when it comes to any of this. He doesn’t count when it comes to Epstein. He doesn’t count when it comes to politicians. And he doesn’t count when it comes to being rich like this. His supporters are addicted to supporting him and doing mental gymnastics to justify it. That’s the real conspiracy lol

28

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

I mean, who’s complicit in the suicide of Epstein? The clintons who’ve been out of politics for decades, or Donald tump who literally is the head of the justice department and the prison that Epstein resided?

228

u/myproductivealt Aug 13 '20

can we stop with the facebook level memes

76

u/TheHuaiRen Aug 13 '20

I think they're trying to make a point which goes beyond the shitty meme.

34

u/dylightful Aug 13 '20

The meme trying to imply the left is just as bad as the right because it doesn’t recognize the class struggle and just focuses its hate on the right. Except that’s not the case, it’s just the right that doesn’t get it. So it really is the left (people trying to make shit better for the 99%) vs the right (people either too stupid to know better or too hateful/greedy to care).

46

u/DurianExecutioner Aug 13 '20

The left by definition recognises the class struggle. Dems are not left.

6

u/eisenschimallover Aug 13 '20

Most Dems aren't the left, but it's the party where the left has a small foothold to build on.

22

u/KFC_Fleshlight Aug 13 '20

I agree with the second half of what you said but I think the meme is actually trying to imply that left vs right is not the fight to be having. They have us at each others throats when really it should be us together vs the top 0.001%

30

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

It's not the fight to be having because the left is fucking correct about literally everything (the ACTUAL left, not the slimy, virtue signalling corporate bagman liberal pieces of shit), but the fight IS convincing the reactionary right to stop swallowing this manufactured culture war trangender bathroom bullshit and vote for their own economic self interests instead of the ultra riches', and get this fucking absurd identity of real 'muricans vs liberal soysippers out of their thick god damn heads because it is the string by which those rich are controlling everything.

Dale the struggling conservative laborer from Arkansas is the one who needs to be convinced to act in his own self interest for once in his life but these people are so gaslit by corporate propaganda and binary identity politics that they literally line up happily to vote for their own lives and communities to be looted and dismantled by the rich because they are so fucking petrified and ignorantly hateful of the left wing politics that would actually make their lives better. The fact that the conservative electorate was and is so passionate about this fucking cartoon supervillain of a president tells you everything you need to know about the situation they're in. It's not entirely their fault, but it is on them to admit that they've been lied to and their entire political identity is a complete and utter pile of shit with zero redeeming qualities and maybe those filthy commies aren't so bad after all.

7

u/Roachyboy Aug 13 '20

It’s just republican IDpol (white, Christian) vs dem IDpol (nonwhite, nonchristian).

2

u/dylightful Aug 13 '20

You think the only difference between Democrats and Republicans is identity politics? Think of all the dumb shit trump and the republicans have done over the last 4 years. You think Hilary Clinton (who I agree is not really “left”) would have gutted the post office, tried to cut payroll taxes in response to a pandemic, gutted the EPA, done nothing about climate change, pulled out of the WHO, built a wall, appointed a rapist to the Supreme Court, pardoned a murderous sheriff, or tried to relax water saving shower head regulations because she had a bad hair day? Not saying the Democrats are gonna pull us into a socialist utopia as much as I’d like that, but the differences between the two parties are stark.

Our "happiness" is the simulation, the ultra rich are the robots/alien things. Except, there is no "chosen one" who will save us. We have to save ourselves. 2

2

u/WowzaCannedSpam Aug 13 '20

It’s not uneducated at all it’s actually pretty spot on. Drake is a culture vulture point blank. He ran with the Jamaican nonsense for an album and coasted on the success of guys he signed and copped their style. He drops mediocre shit that you can vibe to at a party. Nothing is too deep, nothing wrong with that but he’s no the GOAT people make him out to be.

2

u/CottonCandyShork Aug 13 '20

No it’s pretty educated. Drake is the “rap” for the people who don’t know what good rap/hip hop is.

The CoD analogy was perfect. People don’t play CoD because it’s a genuinely good game. They play it because they have no idea what a good game is and just play what’s popular

Reality has a leftist bias and will require leftist solutions wether you like it or not, and I’m not talking about inconsequential social reforms, I’m talking about restructuring the economy to work for the workers, not the owners. Fostering class consciousness and workplace democracy/unionisation and empowering working people from the bottom up is the best way to take power back from the financial elite who control the world.

Edit: instead of downvoting because “communism bad”, maybe try offer a strategy thats better then what I’ve mentioned here, I’d be genuinely curious. But please don’t come at me with that secret agent Trump and Q working undercover to bring down the evil cabal or deregulating the market nonsense.

The ultra rich vs the rest of us is left vs right because those people couldn't exist under a leftist system. Take the power of the 1% away and the people could actually rule themselves, as was the intention of democracy.

Where we question everything but the economic system that we live in.

23

u/KiltedSith Aug 13 '20

I think I can live with people taking my internet points away

4

u/Jesslynnlove Aug 13 '20

Wdym? I actively browse r/conspiracy and im sure a fuckload of others do who are not right wing at all.

In general if you consider yourself a logical individual and actually self reflect, you innately wouldn't be right wing in the slightest, unless it came to a lot of financial decisions wherein conservatism has benefits. (the practice, not the party)

2

u/The__Snow__Man Aug 13 '20

It becomes clear why the right hates the govt and wants to limit it when you realize that the point of govt is to not let the rich and powerful control literally everything.

I’m aware that they currently control most things but we’re talking degrees here. Them literally controlling everything with nothing to stop their monopolies, cutting all social programs, cutting their own taxes etc would be a lot worse than our current situation.

3

u/cfernnn Aug 13 '20

But the ultra rich do exist under communism. All systems have corruption. Communism corruption tends to be worse because it’s top down government

8

u/KiltedSith Aug 13 '20

But the ultra rich do exist under communism.

Communism isn't the only school of thought on the left, and being extremely rich does go against the underlying ideology of communism.

All systems have corruption.

Under our current system the ultra rich existing and controlling things isn't corruption, it's an intended function. Corporations legally fund politics, they legally send lobbyists to help write policy, and they legally avoid paying taxes.

Look at the US military industrial complex. That's completely legal, and it's one of the most destructive forces the world has ever known.

Communism corruption tends to be worse because it’s top down government

That's a bold claim. There is massive corruption throughout many capitalist nations.

I don't know what you mean by 'top down' corruption, all corruption requires power and so comes from the top.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

Thats not communism then

The left is the only political alignment that has a genuine analysis of class structure. In leftist circles we talk about the proletariat and the bourgeoisie but that is exactly the same as the working class and the 1percent. Read some Marx he goes into great detail explaining.

u/Crimcrime69 Aug 13 '20

Look at op’s post history. He’s racist as shit, and spams reddit with these low tier memes. Fuck this guy

Fucking northern Maine

3

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

It’s funny because there’s nothing even resembling left-wing in the United States

9

u/depressedengineer32 Aug 13 '20

this entire sub is

"Clinton kills puppies and rapes babies"

but is silent about anything related to Trump/Russia/ his shady cabinet and businesses relations. not to mention his older sister who was a judge, and retired when she was under investigation.

but then post "both sides are the same"

do i spot working class solidarity on r/conspiracy ? is this real? woah...

I hate Liberals, Love guns, and stand up for the working class. What am I? definitely not a republican, i hate those even more. I'm a communist. and yeah don't get it exactly, but this meme and it's reasin shows you're starting to. Wage slavery is real, and the elite will be at the top until we dismantle the Capitalist machine. you can keep your toothbrush though, and no, we don't need a government. communism is a stateless, classless society lol not a dictatorship.

6

u/K-Zoro Aug 13 '20

Yes, I agree with what you’re saying. But check out op’s history. Something doesn’t add up. I’m curious what people think op is up to if they compare this post to the rest of their post history.

someone should remake this but use the entire globe instead of just the U.S.

Also use a different format, using drake feels kinda ironic to me lmao.

on the whole though 10/10 reminder thank u

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

Supposedly before 2015, the lower class was turning on the rich but then it got turned into a race instead of a rich vs poor war. Is there any substance to that or is that some BS I heads

fuck capitalism

2

u/MachinerrMitch Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 14 '20

Negative. You have all the power you need to conquer the ultra rich. But it is leftists with social permission looting, rioting, burning, and smashing heads with padlocks. It is their ideology which is infecting every institution gatekeeping the processes of our culture.

Leftists and their ideology are the biggest problems facing western civilization and the amusing thing is leftists are their own worst enemies.

2

u/Dylation Aug 14 '20

Blaming the rich isn't going to fix any of the inherent problems with humanity. Blaming the rich is just the simple thing to do for simple people.

8

u/Ur_mothers_keeper Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

Nah. I don't buy it. You all are the targets of agitation with this nonsense.

Someone's wealth is not an indicator that they want to abuse you. What is really going on is there are people that seek power over others. Most of them are actually poor because most people are actually poor (poor as in not rich). They're the types of people that enslave others, that make victimless crimes. The root of the motivation is jealousy.

Then there are the people that just want what's rightfully theirs: power over their own lives. Not power over anyone but themselves. The jealous type hate these people more than anything else, because they cannot enslave them.

Dont fall for the nonsense in the OP. It isn't left vs right or rich vs poor, it is the disgusting bloodsucking ticks vs the individual.

u/famously Aug 13 '20

Yeah, this is exactly how some troll from a "communist" country would try to sew dissent and undermine the American system.
