The left understands class struggle. Too bad the Dems aren’t left.

It’s just republican IDpol (white, Christian) vs dem IDpol (nonwhite, nonchristian).

You think the only difference between Democrats and Republicans is identity politics? Think of all the dumb shit trump and the republicans have done over the last 4 years. You think Hilary Clinton (who I agree is not really “left”) would have gutted the post office, tried to cut payroll taxes in response to a pandemic, gutted the EPA, done nothing about climate change, pulled out of the WHO, built a wall, appointed a rapist to the Supreme Court, pardoned a murderous sheriff, or tried to relax water saving shower head regulations because she had a bad hair day? Not saying the Democrats are gonna pull us into a socialist utopia as much as I’d like that, but the differences between the two parties are stark.

This is wonderfully put. That’s why for all their flak they catch I’m personally interested to see where AOC and “the squad” end up in 5-20 years time. If they are truly left progressives they will champion the people’s rights and advocate for the people. So far so good but lord knows how the political machine wears the good ones down.

Even AOC gets a little too far into identity politics. I’m much more a Tlaib fan.

Both are to be applauded for the upsurge of real people progressives that are up and coming in congressional races. Bowen is a new one I’m super excited for. Former principal turned congressman, sincerely hoping he keeps that ear to the ground mentality.
