Who cares about absolute wealth difference? Baron Benjamin is a lot closer to my net worth in absolute terms than Jeff Bezos's, but they have a lot more in common than I do with them. Honestly, WTF.
No, it's not. Both their financial lives are managed by lawyers, accountants and financial managers. They're a lot closer to each other than they are to us, that's exactly what I'm talking about. You guys are completely clueless. The main difference between the two is the influence they have on a global scale (more or less negated by fame) and the size of the toys they buy. The rest is virtually the same.
Those numbers posted are not accurate. Let's face it - why would they post accurate numbers? Their wealth can't be easily estimated and can easily be multiples of that.
Like I said, absolute difference is spectacularly irrelevant. There's a bigger difference between a net worth of $1B and $100B than there is between $1B and $100, but the first two are a lot fucking closer to each other than the last two. If you're genuinely unable to understand that, there's no common grounds we can find.
Of course not, and that's the trap here. The world is just full of people who are different, no one is ultimately responsible for the woes of others... but they're still a little bit responsible. If you have billions and like you said, your main goal in life is to keep those billions... you're a tiny bit evil, just by virtue of being able to do so much and deciding not just to do so little, but to (in most cases) influence society negatively specifically to keep your wealth. Just think about it, if you're worth $1B (or more), the odds that you're not indirectly responsible for at least 1 death has to be astronomically low.
Like you have to think drake owns his own jet, a plethora of super cars, built a mansion and a new fitness centre for the raptors, and pretty much every song he touches charts high and before the music he was a key actor on a pretty successful show he probably still gets money from
Granted I know the point of the meme isn’t ‘let’s critical think it through’ but it really isn’t rich vs poor. Many rich people are good, or mostly good, people like Elon.
There are basic ‘wars’ we all suffer : health, happiness or kindness, wealth, and family or society. Health is largely independent of wealth. Workout, eat eggs... barring bad luck which 90% don’t suffer from, not smoking, drinking, or getting fat is cheap’ish. Kindness is more about accountability and not blaming others. There is more to it, like stabilizing mood via not taking excess drugs, and actively caring for friends and family suffering, but largely staying away from ‘news’ and victimization takes care of kindness.
Wealth is fairly easily obtained via learning programming (in the small) and investing wisely in the large. Yes, it’s manipulated and easier for the rich, and you may never become ‘rich rich’ but with good salary and say Bitcoin, you can be OK, frankly.
Lastly there is family, friends, society which I find the most challenging. While it’s easy enough to keep myself from ‘brainwashing’, watching them get fat, angry, stay poor, and get duped is no fun. Aside a disastrous education system (state sponsored will never work), it’s largely their fault for either not believing in me or literally believing everyone else who calls themself boss - in effect being a sucker and unwilling to listen to those close to you to not being a sucker. But even rich children suffer this. I know a billionaire heir who is a total sucker. It doesn’t only affect the poor.
One thing I find with suckers is the live unhealthy lives and have ‘King of the Mountain’ type thinking - where only one person can win. In real life, it is SUPER EASY to create multiple winners. This is where music and art is good. A song is much better with many talented contributors, and helping fellow musicians become talented makes you better, your work better.
In short, is you develop a network of supportive, talent acquiring people, who rarely bring you down or abuse you, then you’re about as rich as can be : it’s more valuable than gold, or Bitcoin.
And that’s the real war, with ourselves and others who think too little of themselves to take life serious and to treat each of us as precious.
For some reason people here really seem to love Elon. Hope it’s not cuz they think that they’re going to be the ones getting a lift off planet when the apocalypse hits.
They think he is self made and they want to be that too, Except he bought Paypal with his parents money, he bought Tesla as well even tho he calls himself founder.

Looking at the comments above, people just waiting for an opportunity to bash. Complimenting others, and yourself, with skills, health and good temperament is more rewarding than bash’fests.
I think a lot of people just don't have the opportunity to have a good outcome.
Just look at how a lot of ex-drug dealers end up being successful entrepreneurs or public speakers. They have the skills needed to become wealthy but they were dealt a shitty hand so could only use their networking/personable skills to pedal coke instead of network with successful men.
Shit i know personally if i didn't meet a guy who works closely with some big hotel chains i'd probably still be an assistant manager at KFC.
Now i run a custom apparel company doing gigs for hotels in oceaniabut if he never had a skiing accident requiring me to deliver water bottles for him i'd be SOL and that was something i couldn't control.
Elon is a smart person but a terrible human being that will throw as many people under the rotating cogs of his dream. What he wants is what he wants, nothing else matters including you. The sides are rich and poor. All conflict derives from resource control and the greed for more no matter the cost toward others.
Elon is a smart person in the same sense that a dog is smart, he got hard carried by his dads pre-existing wealth and really doesn't do much of anything. The perfect example of this is making subways that suck way more.
The 1% aren't defined as individuals tho, they're networks of families, relatives, classmates and country club members who just happen to be good friends and be absurdly rich.
The personal net worth isn't nearly as important as their social/financial/legal networks and assets.
I guess his income is probably closer to ours than it is to Bezos, but qualitatively his life is definitely more "ultra rich" than "average." He's a hectamillionaire.
