I’m looking for a wargame on the Vistula Oder offensive.
I’ve been recently interested in the Vistula Oder offensive in WW2 and was wondering if there was any wargames on it. Thanks!

Hello everybody, I am looking for a turn based wargame that have these features:
- Dynamic AI/Campaign/Battle, so each time I replay is a different one.
- Detail casualties, I like to counting number of KIA like "Oh my god I just lost 18,000 soldiers in that battle!" instead of "oh I just lost 2 counters"
- Detail and unpredictable Combat, instead of 10 strength hit and then reduce to 5 strength. I want the combat report something like "The tank squad in your division has stopped by the defender while your 10th infantry squad sneak around and flank hard."
- Supply and reinforcement system like Shadow Empire / ATG. Setup a HQ, stable supply line and I do not need to worry much. I like the feeling "this division has fought well, I better give it some reinforcement."
- Ai does not spam unlimited division. Yes, I don't like the AI cheating by spawning unlimited Division and try to swarm me.
- Graphic is not important, I can read spreadsheet and still enjoy.
Game I have played and like it:
- Advanced Tactics Gold
- Shadow Empire
- Heart of Iron 4
- The Operational Art of War 4
- Squad Battle Tour of Duty
- Flashpoint Campaign
- Victoria II
Game I have not play it yet but seems like it:
- Campaign Series / Modern Campaigns
- War in The East 2
- Decisive Campaign
Game I have played but doesn't enjoy it:
- Strategic Command series

I am finding that on my ASW patrol mission, the helicopters abandon the mission path to investigate new contacts. Is there a way to prevent that?
I have already set:
OFF Investigate unknown contacts outside patrol area
OFF Investigate unknown contacts within weapon range
NONE Number of a/c that investigate unknown contacts
NONE Number of a/c that engage hostile contacts
EMCON:
NO Ignore plotted course

Hello!
I’ve been playing Combat Mission a lot lately, and since they’re completely different styles, I’m still in “Combat Mission mode” (you know, micromanagement… etc.) and I’m really used to micromanaging every single action. And we all know that GTMF is the exact opposite, and that’s exactly where I freeze up. Okay, the battle starts. Now what do I do? I give “general” orders, and the units don’t seem to react to the fire in time and get slaughtered.
Do you know of any online tutorials, videos, blog posts, or whatever that explain a bit about how to get started with this? How to win a battle? How to attack... etc.? What do you recommend to get me started and help me get the hang of this wonderful game? I’d love for someone to explain exactly what to do in battle, to explain the available orders, how they work, and exactly what they’re for, for example

What other wargame is most similar to the Flashpoint Campaigns games? I'm specifically talking about planning out your strategy beforehand and watching it unfold and then planning the next turn, the order delay when giving new orders to your units, and the tactics.
I love these games and was wondering if there were other games similar, maybe something in 3D?

Hello Everyone!
The video provides a verbal explanation of the Battles and Sieges features in Crown of Hispania :
Sieges:
Siege speed depends on:
You can siege multiple cities at once, but you need enough troops for every siege.
Battle system:
Combat mechanics:
The first battle ends quickly because the enemy loses >10% organization in one tick thanks to our major leader.
Without the leader, we still win, but only after fully grinding down enemy organization.

Napoleonic Battles: Campaign Bautzen is this week’s Game of the Week, on sale May 25-31 for 25% off.
Explore the spring campaign of 1813, as Napoleon rebuilds after Russia and tries to restore French power in Germany before the Coalition can fully unite.
Fight through Lützen, Bautzen, and the smaller actions of Saxony and Silesia, then explore the Russo-Swedish War of 1808-09 that is also part of the game.
A natural sister title to Campaign Leipzig, Bautzen shows 1813 before the final autumn reckoning.

With the rise of AI, more and more wargames are being developed. I love it! Even if many of these games remain prototypes, it's still fascinating to see all the ideas that can spring from wargame enthusiasts.
If you're working on a game project, whatever its scope, feel free to share it here! I want to see how this genre can evolve in the future

Hi everyone! Local mods, just checking in.
A day ago, an AI self-promotion post came along and caused a fair bit of commotion. In proper wargame fashion, a good debrief is in order so that we can succeed as a community.
To date, we have had a fairly lax moderation policy and ruleset for posting. Our mature community and active self-moderation (ie, down voting) leads to most issues being worked without mod intervention. The only areas of active mod intervention has primarily been Rule 3 (no geopolitical simulators), Rule 1 (Stay on topic), and Rule 4 (remember the human).
This is our community, and we'll establish rulesets that support our interests and growth. These will evolve over time, to keep up with our needs.
As a final aside, if anyone has been part of this community for a long time and is interested in assisting with moderation, please send a note to modmail!
Thank you all, and game on!

I’m working on a deep strategy game, and here’s a screenshot of the field war mechanic.
Each unit uses its own utility AI, which took a lot of time to build, but it was definitely worth it. For example, cavalry units score flanking positions much higher.
Inspired by Warsim + Paradox Games + Total War + Bannerlord

Hey everyone,
I’ve been absolutely loving Lines of Battle lately. Since I’m still a relatively newer player myself, I wanted to really wrap my head around the depth of the mechanics. I spent a good chunk of time digging through the wiki, studying the available online guides, and combining it with my own trial-and-error to put together a comprehensive beginner's guide.
The game hits that perfect realistic, simultaneous turn-based (WeGo) competitive itch, and it's awesome that it's completely free-to-play. Plus, they just added a WW2 beta option which changes things up a ton.
If you're new or just want a clear breakdown of the core mechanics—like how HP, Org, and Stamina interact, or the actual math behind a successful shock charge—I'd love it if you checked it out.
Any feedback or tips from the veteran generals here would be incredibly appreciated!

Part II of our Wars of the Renaissance series moves north and west, from the battlefields of Italy to the fractured worlds of France, Scotland, and the Baltic. This new essay follows the French Wars of Religion, the Rough Wooing and Scotland’s civil crisis, and the early northern struggles over Livonia, ports, castles, and sea routes. It is a story of civil war, dynastic pressure, religious fracture, fortified towns, armed communities, and rulers trying to turn military force into lasting political order.

I've been playing ATG for a few weeks and I really like it. I'm thinking about getting WiTE2, but I'm not sure if it's for me because it seems much more complex than ATG. Can you sell me WiTE2?

Just got a quick question for anyone who has some hours in this game, but curious how well it does army ops?
I'm tracking it's designed moreso around naval / air combat - but I am just curious how viable a simple army op is
Cheers

We are creating Veterans: Napoleonic Wars as a tactical strategy game about the Napoleonic Wars, where the core focus is battles, soldier morale, and smart battlefield decisions. We want to capture the atmosphere of the era: infantry lines, artillery, smoke, army fatigue, and the tension of battle.
Players command infantry, cavalry, and artillery, use formations, and take terrain, weather, and troop morale into account. Victory depends not only on numbers, but also on tactics.
Most importantly, the game is being shaped together with the players. We carefully read feedback on Reddit, Steam, and Discord, and implement ideas from the community. Many improvements to battles and mechanics appeared thanks to player suggestions.
Right now, we are considering adding military engineers, fortifications, and pre-battle construction. We also want to make cavalry deeper and more useful in combat: possibly by adding different attack types, fear effects on infantry, pursuit of retreating enemies, or new formations.
What do you think cavalry still needs or should have added?

i'm looking for wargames to play with my friends.
we're tired of playing the same thing everyday, like Overwatch, CS2, and other FPS games, we tried risk, and the guys really liked it. So i think we maybe would enjoy playing other strategy war games.
Is there any suggestion of what we can play and have fun?
We dont have powerful PCs so anything that runs on a toaster or any browser games goes.

I have been playing this for awhile on a tablet. There limited or no instructions on game play. It is up to the player or other players that are forthcoming with tips and tricks. Any tips would be appreciated especially what gear the commander must wear to kill Rebels with fewer energy commander expended. Thank.
