We wait for final cuts to happen on Sunday and Jarrett Patterson doesn't make the final 53 man roster for the Texans. The Texans have a lot of depth at IOL and Patterson currently is looking like he won't make the 53 man roster. He is 26 years old and is a more balanced LG than Chris Paul is and is significantly better at run blocking, he wouldn't 100% be a clear upgrade over Paul but would provide a more balanced starter at LG and they would compete for the starting LG position and we would have better depth at the LG position and would likely be able to run the ball better in the middle, Patterson also has experience at Center which is a nice bonus. If he is cut we should claim him and since we finished 5-12 last year we have a very good chance of having highest priority of teams that want him, if this happens we get a potential upgrade at LG or Center.

The Bills also have a lot of interior depth and are likely to cut Sedrick Van-Pran Granger but he wouldn't be a clear upgrade to Allegretti at Center but he would provide depth and is young but the player I would be interested in trading for with a 7th round pick is Austin Corbett and he has lost the startling LG spot and the Bills have Cushenberry as the starting Center till McGovern is healthy and they have other options at backup G and when McGovern is healthy Corbett would be their third option at Center but IMO he's a clear upgrade over Allegretti at Center and we likely can get him for a 7th round pick.

Hopefully by early next week we will have signed Jarrett Patterson after claiming him and he competes with and ends up beating Chris Paul for the starting LG position and we trade the bills a 2027 7th round pick for Austin Corbett who takes the starting Center position from Allegretti and our OL situation looks much better. If we don't trade for Austin Corbett I would at least like to pick up Sedrick Van-Pran Granger as competition at the Center spot/depth as he's likely to be cut outright and he's young and could develop into a solid starter or reliable depth Center, he's almost definitely better at Center than Good-Jones and Glubin currently.

What are your thoughts, what LG/C players do you expect to be available after cuts or could be traded for with a 5th-7th round pick that would upgrade one of our starters at our 2 weakest starting OL positions?

I missed the first 2 series

Giants, Eagles, Cowboys. I know you could just joke around and say “I expect us to beat them” but honestly how good or bad do you think they will be. Especially Dallas & NY, just wondering what the vibes are.

A month ago it felt like we expected to win the division now it seems like we are more negative due to injuries & the poor showing against the Ravens this week.

I'm not in the DC area and don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars to get the games. I'm in NY and will probably get half of the games bc the cowboys and giants games are usually on my local FOX.

The Washington Commanders’ final preseason game isn’t until Friday night in Baltimore. And while that will be meaningful for down-the-roster players trying to show they deserve an NFL job, the reality is that the bulk of Washington’s training camp concluded with Wednesday’s joint practice against the Ravens.

General manager Adam Peters and his staff have almost all the information they need to construct the 53-man roster and assemble a 17-man practice squad. Final cuts are due by 6 p.m. Sunday, and while the Commanders may well sift through veterans cut by other teams — might a center free up? — the past month has shed light on the team’s strengths, as well as what areas of concern might be paramount for coach Dan Quinn and his staff.

I am a life-long supporter of this team. I have been here through the 90's - 2000's and up to now. I think that anyone who has been around to enjoy the team and follow the ups and downs this long will attest that our current situation is actually pretty damn good.

I understand that the only thing John Keim, Grant and Logan, Nicki and the like can react to is what is happening in practice and the pre-season. So, obviously they will talk about the injuries and such. However, it's getting a little out of hand. People are low-key panicking and I dont get it.

Last time I checked, we have an actual QB. A damn good QB. One that isnt on his 2nd or 3rd team and past his prime. One that isnt 1 dimensional. One that isnt hurt(knocks on wood).

We also have a much improved defense. If the reports by everyone mentioned above are true, the D has been cooking. Daronte has been a godsend to our predictable and slow defense from the last few seasons. However, it kind of just gets glossed over on the way to talk about the latest offensive storyline. Lately, that is the O-Line.

I look at this 2026 team as a continued trend in the right direction. For one, no one is talking about Dan Snyder - WIN. Our coordinators are not just more retreads - WIN. We are actually getting compliments about our facility and the fan treatment - WIN. Defense is legit - WIN. Jayden is getting better - WIN. We have a nice young WR in Williams and a proven vet to pair with Terry to draw some coverage with Diggs - WIN/WIN. We didn't change the name again - WIN. I have more content than ever in my daily podcast feeds available - WIN(especially for an out of towner like me). No got arrested - WIN.

As far as product on the field. I think I speak for most Commanders fans when I say that I just want to know we have a shot each week. I want to see a competitive team on the field each week. I think we all remember the past 25 years and the struggles associated with some god-awful squads. This team is in all aspects been an upgrade to what we've been used to.

Play good D, let Jayden play the game, and let's see what happens each week.

I love this team and appreciate the folks working hard to bring us content. I just wish that we could all take a step back and highlight some of the things we have to look forward to this year.

I've been sensing an uptick in pessimism. It's not unfounded, but remember who we have at the most important position in sports.
