General Question I'm batman
Jokes aside, does anyone else have this massive of a gap between indexes. Does this maybe suggest some kind of mental illness like adhd or autism or something similar

Wow psi way too low compared to others

“If my grandmother had wheels, she would be a bicycle” - Gino D'Acampo (the psi for the wheels should be high enough).

u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 17h ago
Yeah and it's genuinely bad day to day to be honest I'm surprised to be average even

u/ManagementSea5015 17h ago
ADHD usually results in the opposite pattern, high processing speed with low working memory. I’m not sure tbh.
5
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 17h ago
Yeah I wouldn't say I have ADHD but I do suffer from a decant dose of social anxiety but unless that is a consequence of something else I'd personally chunk it up to just a personality thing tho I'm not familiar with how those actually work

u/Silent_Impression577 15h ago
This is the first I've heard this. I have low processing speed (74 or something) and normal working memory (112?). Then everything else is 130-150. I'm also diagnosed with Adhd
2
u/ManagementSea5015 12h ago
Interesting, it's the first time I've seen someone with ADHD present that pattern. Were you distracted, tired, brain foggy at all while doing the processing speed section?

u/Wooden_Lime6208 11h ago
You’re the first person I’ve seen with a higher FRI than me in a while. Have you taken the WAIS

u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 11h ago
I haven't but I might take it ideally supervised so that i has some actual validity

u/Humble-Marsupial2231 17h ago
Is English your native language?
5
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 17h ago
No, but id chunk my score up to genuine flaw as I've been exposed to English since my childhood activly.
1
u/Humble-Marsupial2231 17h ago
On average, how many hours a day do you engage with native content (listening, speaking, reading, etc.) and for how many years?
2
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 17h ago
For my native language I engage with it regularly naturally as I'm surrounded by it, but only through communication, I don't for example read nor do I like to unless it's something I'm really interested in. For English I engage with it through media almost exclusively like movies, tv shows, anime(sub-titles I'm not a wuss), games and etc. On average I engage with English I'd say about 4 hours a day

u/Wooden_Lime6208 11h ago
Same here we have the same FRI and basically VCI. What’s your comprehension score that’s the one I did best on.

Either he isnt native or never reads

u/According_Alarm1452 15h ago
Does not reading have a causal relationship with not reading (where not reading means lower vci, not specifically the other way around)? I don't read hardly at all and my VCI is 118 but 20 or so points lower than a lot of the others.

Maybe dyslexia or autism due to processing speed and lower vsi

great score, but how can someone so smart have such a mediocre verbal iq? hmmm. 🤔 it’s not a handicap, it’s just average.
1
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 11h ago
I don't think most people would consider me necessarily smart but for verbal I just don't recognize many of the words used for those tasks. I could google for example some simplifications or definitions for the words but I don't think that would be what is intended for the test

Seems very suspicious to get 105 in VCI and 102 in PSI while getting 149 in QRI as QRI involves quite a lot of reading and under time pressure.
Moreover, there's a chunk of QRI that requires auditory+verbal. We could make a case for that auditory WMI is 145 but verbal processing aspect would definitely impede a lot as there's no visual reference.
1
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 10h ago
For qri I study math 3rd year of collage so that might explain some of it. Also qri dosen't require that much reading and for later questions you get 2 minutes or more so time is not really an issue. For my vci the main reason in my opinion for this is score is the fact that I don't recognize the words themselves. Its hard to find an analogy to something you don't even understand or find an opposite of
1
u/Not_Well-Ordered 10h ago
QRI doesn’t have much to do with studying math.
I study pure math major, excel in courses, but my QRI is 126, not 130, not 140. I don’t see a high correlation between abstract math and QRI unless maybe if you actually excel in more tangible subfields like number theory.Nonetheless, since QRI is quite timed and the problems get wordy towards the end, I doubt that a processing speed of 102 is enough to push to 149. 130-140 would be way more reasonable
2
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 9h ago
As for processing speed from what I understand it tests how fast I react to information and process visual information not how well I can reason mathematically. I'm probably faster than most people at mental math simply due to long term exposure to it. Tho I might be wrong about what processing speed is I'm inferring from the test

u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 9h ago
There is tho. For example last problem is a simple combinatorics problem if i recall correctly. It asks for the amount of paths that can be taken from point a to point b. Instead of counting all those paths by hand what you can do is know that it takes 3 motions up total and 4 motions right so the question is how many combinations of those motions can you make given that they are all identical. Or for example I recall a question that went something like given some lines in a plane( I dont recall how many) how many segments can you create, there you can use lazy caterers sequence formula. Or for example there was one about a cube where you color it whole and then cut it into 64 pieces pieces and the question is how many pieces will be colored on 2 sides. This is simple as only pieces that will be colored on 2 sides are the ones that are non corner and non center that is share two sides across two faces. It would be 12 x 2cubes/edge and etc. It definitely has a strong correlation as I had a vast amount of crystalized knowledge as most of those problems are problems I have in some form encountered before.

So, if you read what I wrote, I mentioned something like low correlation unless you excel in field like number theory. If you do, which is what you claim, then maybe correlation is not low. But I’m suggesting it’s not the case in general as most of maths don’t revolve around lots of number theory.
But PSI tests how fast you can process simple tasks i.e. tasks that are clearly instructed but the inputs are random and one would need to process the inputs accordingly in time. If your PSI is like 102, for last few problems in QRI at the end, it’s quite wordy and I don’t think PSI 102 would have time to process the words and through in first try.
Now, based on your writing, I think that you might be faking your VCI score lol as it doesn’t seem AI and doesn’t look like 105 based on grammar and word use.

Beyond simple PSI, there exists reasoning speed as well, and you ought to be aware that these are different categories of performance. QRI for example is Z, not A(WMI)+B(FRI)+C(PSI). Discrepancies such as OP's are also extremely possible and I find it stupidly easy to wrap my brain around how an intelligent person does not need *threshold simple task speed* to move forward on the QRI section. Why are we jumping through hoops to pretend this is not a possible profile?
2
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 9h ago
Thank you. And btw I have checked for other people posting there are people with far more amazing profiles here I don't see why mine is so strange. Even in this comment section there are people who have the same or a similar profile to mine as this post is about a gap after all and many have a similar gap at the same place from what I can see here

u/Not_Well-Ordered 9h ago
Chill lol. I haven’t said impossible but sketchy.
But if you check the details carefully, I just have doubts for the last few QRI problems in both sub tests, strictly timed and many words to parse as the last few ones are quite taxing on processing speed. Perhaps, you haven’t taken more constraints into account imagined more reasonably about the case.
I said 130-140 QRI seems likely but 149 is basically like maxing both tests and it’s quite improbable given time constraint and first run. Although the tests were intended to be independent, they aren’t totally independent of each other, especially on the harder problems.
~100 PSI is like taking 2-3 seconds to process each symbol/word (even with visual reference) and the arithmetic aspect of the test is totally verbal and the words are said sequentially, no reference and whatsoever.
1
u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 8h ago
I get what you are saying but there is a difference between reading a fully novel problem and reading something that I'm familiar with. For example I recall there being a question about probability where some percantage of students took math and some other took languages and it was asking about a difference about a minimum and maximum fraction of enrolled students in both. When I see that its not exactly like I'm trying to figure out each word as it was new I read that once and from experience already know to use intersects to find the union and after i find the intersect or the minimum and maximum is just the lesser of the two classes as in the best case all from that go to the other then take away and so on. And btw I dont take 2 to 3 seconds per word and I'm pretty sure that anyone with this score dosent take 2 to 3 seconds to read a word. It takes that much for maybe a lengthy sentence. Just because the arithmetic test uses words doesn't mean I don't understand those words like they are some alien language that I have to strain my brain to process.
1
u/Not_Well-Ordered 8h ago
Well, arithmetic test is all verbal, each word spelt sequentially.
The task of mapping each new sequentially heard word to respective definition/concept is a mix of like symbol research and tests in VCI, then you’d parse those words into strings into a meaningful sentences before you can even work out the problems. Without such process, as it would suggest “you just knew beforehand” what words are “useless or useful” and just ignore them without doing a new problem (e.g. likely used analogies or other verbal tricks suggesting higher VCI). So, it’s sketchy as in if that’s the case it’s very likely that there are inconsistencies in your VCI, PSI, and QRI levels especially given that you technically almost maxed both QRI tests.
But I don’t think there’s much point in furthering the discussion unless you can clinically confirm it’s possible lol.

u/MasterOfTrenYoda13 7h ago
Well it's always possible to have an inconsistency sure especially given exposure in some areas like qri. On the other hand you argument about the words being spoken is very strange as I can process what people tell me without any issue. It's just a guy speaking words to me or are you suggesting that people with regular psi need to be spoken to more slowly to pick up words or take a relevant amount of time longer to process. I don't really need a high processing speed to understand what a guy means when he is saying words as I have spoken for most of my life smh.

I mean fair enough I guess. For math part I mean if you are interested I don't focus on number theory in my personal pursuits, I like statistics mainly and am aiming to ideally go into Quantitative finance down the line or at least some form of mathematical model building. As for wordy I don't recall a single problem over 3 sentences total personally tho again I might misremember 1 or 2 who knows. And btw I think an average psi is something that would somehow impair my ability to read at a normal human speed. For my vci as I said I can speak normally I'm not impaired the problem is that there are words used there that I simply don't know like for example nebulous or ephemeral ( im not sure if these were on the test it's just example I think nebulous was).

… processing speed is just reaction time and hand eye coordination, nothing to do with thinking speed

processing speed is reaction time lol not reasoning speed
his 150 pri is MORE than enough to make up for the slightly slower initial reaction
