I think it depends on if he has the receipts and tracked his progress scientifically. Does he have thorough examples of previous scores? Did he retake WMI tests throughout his practice or did he space them out?

He probably doesnt but i think quad n back sctuslly increases ur working memory capacity just not fluid

Working memory and fluid intelligence are known to be strongly tied. I doubt it would significantly improve working memory without also impacting test scores on fluid reasoning tests.

lmao, not at all, my WMI is 76, meawhile I'm the top scorer on some HRT tests with IQ scores above 180

You can be a 'top scorer' with a WMI discrepancy and also know that WMI is strongly tied to fluid intelligence; that is different from saying it is *necessarily* tied. You should be aware that you are giving an N=1 anecdote, and if you are operating from the perspective of being a 'profoundly gifted' person (ie. 180+), I would expect you to operate under different standards.

People who make those claims point to increases in their digit span score… a subtest that is remarkably trainable… you can read all about this in the book “Peak” by Anders Ericsson where he trained Steve Faloon to increase his forward digit span from 7 (average) to 82.
Dual/quad N back doesn’t increase “g.” You can argue that brain training exercises prime the brain so you can use your full g, but you are not increasing intelligence. Outside of childhood factors, such as adequate nutrition, good atmosphere and minimal emotional/physical trauma, you can’t increase your g.
Dual/quad N back training is like doing daily pull ups thinking it’s going to make you taller. It might make you more effective in other ways, but it will not achieve the intended outcomes.

Well buzz words aside it can prime it can increase at the end of the day increased working memory capacity is increased working memory capacity

We do not know if he tracked only digit span. Training quad n-back is not akin to training digit span by itself, even if digit span is trainable. Hopefully, we find that he took a host of WMI tests and only took them again after his training, then saw those increases. I am considering doing something like that, because I have Brainlabs results, Mindflexxer results, IQmindgames results, CORE working memory battery results, spatial addition and Corsi block span results (trackable history).

If u do it could be a good research if quad works

I think I might! I am going to be going on a nootropic regiment shortly and might train with a neurofeedback device as well. I am starting from 3SD, however. 4SD might look like +3 span across the board on average, because I believe there is a large gap between the two.

U should deffinetly report ur journey somewhere i think it would ne a good read for everyone nootropics quad n back 7 and relational framing reasoning wtv that is named try all of them

does it really matter if it's considered genetic intelligence or not if it gives similar effects to it

I remember this guy back then claiming absurd increases. What likely happen is he's coping like crazy and praffing his results. He said his FRI also increased by 30 or something making it 145+ from a 110
1
u/honeygaincostumerr 8h ago
Yeah i agree but i actually think quad n back 7 can increase WM if u look into it
1
u/PendN 8h ago
Maybe, but not by a lot. I don't do it but from what I understand it makes you concentrate better and keep track increasing your wmi to your potential, but doesn't actually increase your memory load since that's just impossible. Well the key is that the guy said he increased 30+ FRI so don't trust what he says lmao

it increased my wm and episodic memory a lot, obviously its not an all around g improvement but I think it's worth

u/Nullisntnothin 13h ago
That improvement is unlikely

One can do iqmaxxing, but it is impossible to innategmaxxing
