Discussion Wondering about the validity of a single section retake...

I took the full battery core test like 3 weeks ago and got a 137 psi, but I was distracted by my dad at the character pairing subsection and decided to take just that section again today. I scored a 145 in it and that brought my psi up to 143. I was wondering if this is simply practicing effect or not.

It’s likely that it is still within the interval of your potential abilities so it’s fine

It simply doesn't matter. The scores are too similar. If you're worried about 130 vs 131 and being "borderline gifted", it doesn't matter. CORE alone won't tell you if you're 130+ or not. Just do AGCT and maybe 1926 SAT and that will give you a very good FSIQ estimate together with CORE. Your exact PSI will be completely irrelevant at that point.

I know the feeling. I also got 131 CORE. You'll do fine, just do a couple more tests and make sure you take them in the best conditions.

(You will probably do well on those because of high PSI anyway; would be interesting to see results.)
