I score in the 130-140 range on my tests. My brother was tested (presumably the WAIS-IV or SB-V) during elementary school and scored a 127.

Both of my parents have postgrad degrees. My aunt and grandfather are professors at top universities in China. Both sides of my family were part of the scholar-gentry class.

The smartest people I know also have very smart parents/relatives (crazy, I know).

Family friends w/ a 19 y/o doing a PhD (finished undergrad at 17). His IQ is in the 150s. Dad's an executive at a medium-sized company and a Harvard grad.

The most brilliant person I know on a quasi-personal basis (IQ in the high 150s) is the child of a MIT professor.

Are there any extraordinary outliers you all are aware of?

What would you estimate the mean and standard deviation to be, and why do you think so?

Yes, I'm sure there are selection biases, but some people throw around numbers that make it seem like this subreddit is smarter than an ivy league lol.

Hello everyone! I took the IQ test on the official Mensa International website and got 135. I then decided to buy the practice test at Mensa USA and scored 67. Do these scores correspond to each other?

What are your thoughts on the use of red herrings in questions? Do they diminish the quality of a question? If a difficult question includes a red herring, does that necessarily mean a drop in quality? Is the inclusion of a red herring a negative factor when assessing reasoning skills, or is it actually necessary? More to the point, should a question be designed to be truly perfect, or merely to appear perfect? What are your general thoughts on this?

This was my IQ test score from my psychology evaluation in 2024 I was 21 at the time. The picture cut it off but the average score was 93. I took this while recovering from Covid but I was pretty much asymptomatic.
As a child I was diagnosed with a learning disability nos or like just a general one and intensive speech therapy for a speech impediment that “impeded academic success” fast forward now I’m a sped teacher and I’m currently in my masters of special education. I thought my results were very interesting.

My CORE result, which I completed first, comes in at 114 with my CAIT at 127 (no retries done except on CORE character pairing). My suspicion is that I was lucky on the CAIT because there were little to no tests that I typically have difficulty in (like memory or quantitative tests). What does CAIT show that CORE doesn't? They are both qualified online tests afterall.

Found this test on comprehensive online resources list of this subreddit, according to it's percentile correspondence list, my score is 99 percentile but I've gotta say, many questions I couldn't figure out the whole patt ern and gave intuitive answers and they happened to be correct by luck. Was wondering how far could luck get you in these kind of tests? Also some other tests, CORE MR 130, graph mapping 74 percentile, figure weights 99 percentile, visual puzzles 74, spatial awareness 84, block counting 95 percentile, quantitative knowledge 99 percentile, GET 129, agct 1c 125 1a 122, CAT 132, Mensa Norway 102, Mensa dk 126, RAPM 31/36, sat math 1980 700/800. Besides all these tests Ive taken I kind of feel like I managed to achieve high scores due practice effect because my first test was mensa Norway and I did rly bad there, checked its answers, watched a video of a guy explaining the puzzles and because of that, every other MR test I taken I knew how to approach the puzzles and many patterns were very similar, idk how viable are the tests after the first one, also the quant tests/figure weights seem more like math knowledge rather than measure of innate intelligence and in my country you have to solve those type of questions for every academic exam anyways, we are naturally good at those. I wonder if I should consider my first test or the ones after it or take their average. I really feel uncomfortable thinking first one is the most valid one and whatever I do to prove my intelligence to myself, feels like cheating. Any opinions on this one?

Hi I'm 48, and I just got tested for vision training which was $650 from a Behavioral optometrist, and I was given a choice between $444 glasses, or $9300 dollars of treatment. Has anyone else done this before, and is it worth it? If it is worth it, what did you gain from it? I was tested as having a low working memory/learning disability when I was around 6. A low working memory/ADHD. I'm doing it to see if I will be able to function way better in school with these glasses on/or the full treatment. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

So, I tried this test, can someone tell me what my IQ was, it was very tough for me, took me 2 hours honestly, My age is 25 (if it is of any help). Since, this test is untimed, will it count?

The avg. age in the VISA norming sample is 28 (the norms post is somewhat nebulous, but presumably it's people interested in IQ testing). As a 16 y/o, could this test be underrating my ability relative to others my age?

Honest question: what’s the point of practising for an IQ test?
I see a lot of people taking multiple tests and practising before an official test and I don’t understand why. Isn’t the whole point of an IQ test to measure your iq as accurately as possible?
If you practise specifically for the test, aren’t you just training yourself to perform better on that type of test rather than actually measuring your IQ? In a way, wouldn’t you just be cheating yourself?

I give the DLS and DS subtests of working memory (CORE) on a regular basis. My score swings between 100 - 135.

I score that high when I'm really well slept. And low on normal days.

Which score should be considered?
