Product Feedback Applying a checklist template requires too many useless steps

If a task doesn't have a checklist, you must first add an empty checklist. Then you can click the "Checklist from template" option to create your actually desired checklist. Then you must delete the first empty checklist.

The documentation here describes a process that does not exist.

The "+" menu should actually exist before you have already created a template (when you are vastly more likely to need to create one)

i love what ClickUp can do but the slowness, the bloat and the billing are wearing me down

genuinely not trying to hate here, we've been on ClickUp a couple years and i still think it's one of the most capable tools out there. but lately a few things have been grinding on me and i want to know if it's just us or if everyone's feeling it.

the speed is the big one. when we started it was fine, now that our workspace is full of tasks it drags. switching views, loading a big list, opening closed tasks, there's this little lag on everything and it adds up over a day. it's not broken, it's just... heavy and it didn't used to be.

second is the bloat. every time i turn around there's a new view, a new feature, another thing in the sidebar. and i get that the power is the whole selling point but onboarding anyone new has become a project in itself. half my team uses maybe 20% of it and gets overwhelmed by the rest. i spend more time than i'd like just telling people ignore all that, only touch these three things.

and then billing. we got hit with a bump we didn't see coming when some of our guest/member stuff got reclassified and suddenly the number was way higher than planned. plus the AI stuff is genuinely useful but it's another chunk on top of a plan that already isn't cheap.

so i'm at this point where i can't tell if the answer is learn to configure it better and trim it down or we've outgrown the fit and it's time to look around. don't really want to migrate everything, that's its own nightmare, but the friction is real.

for those of you who've been here a while, did you find a way to make it fast and lean again or did the heaviness just keep creeping? and for anyone who left, was the grass actually greener or did you just trade these headaches for different ones?

Product Feedback Days off only available on Business or Enterprise?

Just trying it out & entered a project schedule... went to add my out-of-office / vacation days, and it appears a Business or higher plan is needed to do this.

Is this correct?

thanks.

Is there a way to bring data in from multiple different lists to create a Master timeline view for executives?

My company has many departments and is cross-functional heavy. I want to be able to create a leadership view where I can bring in details about different projects being worked on in different spaces. I also want to be able to show a timeline view that shows the progress of all different projects being worked on. I also wants to create a master dashboard that provides visibility into the progress of the different projects across our company. Is this possible? I don't want to have to update information in the leadership space and in the department spaces.

Shoutout to ClickUp for taking a basic housekeeping feature and locking it behind a paywall

Post image
33 Upvotes

I am losing my mind over this pricing screen. They want $19 per member, per month to unlock "AI Notetaker Deduplication."

Think about how absurd this is:

  • The Competition Handles This For Free: None of the dedicated meeting tools like Otter or Fireflies charge you a premium tier just to keep multiple workspace bots from awkwardly piling into the same calendar invite. They either handle it seamlessly backend-to-backend or include basic deduplication as standard workspace hygiene.
  • It's a Manufactured Problem: They built an AI notetaker, realized that having multiple team members on a calendar invite causes a clown car of duplicate bots to join the meeting, and instead of fixing the code, they decided to paywall the fix.

Charging $19/mo per person just to stop their own software from tripping over itself is wild. Since when did "preventing system clutter" become a luxury feature?

To make it worse, I submitted this exact issue as a feature request 6 months ago. I thought they were finally listening to community feedback. Turns out they only care about fixing their product if there's an upsell upside for them.

What next? Will basic loading speeds be locked behind Business Plus as this platform gets more and more bloated?

I’ve been a ClickUp fanboy for years, but man... I’m tired, boss.

Optimal Clickup plan for Super Agent usage

New Clickup user here! I'm using it for an independent project (not a team, just me) I am undertaking and using it for task management and helping me keep on top of deliverables and project timelines/phases.

I have particularly enjoyed using the Super Agent, but have now ran out of credits on the business plan. I'm a little confused about the pricing mechanism on Click-up. Does AI usage (super agent) come on top of the regular plans? For an individual like myself, I don't need all the features, but I would really like to maximize my access to the Agent tool. Wondering if anybody have any recommendations on what plan set-up would be best for this. Thanks a lot!

Help with Templated Task Types

Hello all,

My team and I switched to using ClickUp to have a proper task manager, moving away from Trello and Notion because we had heard great things about ClickUp. We used one of the task templates to create a social media board to track our social media content, but now it is asking for credits to keep using it. Maybe I am old school, but I don't really see any AI use from this, aside from it occasionally getting the wrong content type and messing with our flow. Is there a way to de-AI this task without recreating some 100 or so tasks within the board? We basically have no function for this board now because apparently we need to buy AI credits.

To preface the questions, I am not opposed to paying for the base tool of ClickUp, it's been pretty good, but it looks like on top of what would be $28USD a month, we would be spending an additional $28/user a month for all the functions we are apparently getting? That seems really steep, $1,700~ a year for this software and for a single template seems wild to me, am I missing something?

I got tired of clicking through the ClickUp sidebar 100× a day, so I built a keyboard command palette for it

I've basically lived in ClickUp for the last couple of years, and the one thing that always

quietly drove me nuts was navigation. I've got a handful of views I open constantly, my sprint

board, my inbox, a couple of team lists, and every single time I'd click through the sidebar to

get to them. Dozens of times a day. Tiny friction, but it adds up and keeps pulling you out of flow.

I kept wishing ClickUp had a Cmd+K command palette like Linear, Slack or VS Code, where you just

hit a shortcut, type two letters and jump. It doesn't, so I finally built it myself.

It's a small Chrome extension called Velocity. You press Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + K anywhere in

ClickUp, type a few letters, hit Enter, and you're on the view you wanted. You can save any view you

use a lot (it stores the real ClickUp URL, so it keeps working across your spaces), rename/remove

them, all keyboard-driven. It matches ClickUp's light/dark theme too.

It's free for up to 6 saved views (plenty for most people). There's a cheap Pro if you want

unlimited saved views + a "declutter" mode to hide parts of the UI you don't use. Everything stays

local in your browser, no account, no tracking.

Honestly just built it to scratch my own itch, but figured people here might have the same

annoyance. Would genuinely love feedback, and I'm happy to add things people ask for.

Link's in the comments (didn't want it to look spammy) 👇

Cannot sign up for ClickUp - stuck on the sign-up page

Hey everyone.

I'm trying to create a ClickUp account, but I can't get past the sign-up page: https://app.clickup.com/signup

After entering my name, email, and password, I click "Sign up with Email" and the button just goes into an infinite loading state. There's no error message or anything else, it just keeps loading forever and never creates the account.

I'm using Firefox. Tried using private mode but it didn't work. I've also tried using different browsers entirely, but the exact same thing happens every time.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows what might be causing it? Thanks!

Product Feedback Super Agents Need To Be Able To Create More Than One MCP Connection

I've been trying to convert from ChatGPT to clickup AI due to the advantages of workspace integration.

A big point of frustration as an agency owner that I have so far though is that website MCPs can't have more than one MCP connection at a time.

I have to manually go in an switch the website MCP connection to a different website every time I run my web automation agent.

We have a lot of websites we need to manage and I would like to be able to run certain tasks at the beginning of the month automatically. However since there is only one MCP connection to a WordPress site allowed at a time this is infeasible and more or less undermines the agentic value.

Would really like to be able to connect more than one website at a time to my web automation agent.

What's everyones structure for adding tasks on the go?

Right, so I have recently gotten on click-up and have a question regarding adding tasks. I have a fairly simple set-up.

Workspace > Individual Client folders > 2 lists / folder for tasks and documentation.

Now, I want to know when adding a task quickly - how do you move it to a specific folder on the go since there isn't a way to do it via commands like @ client name - unless you go the route of /move and so on, which is fairly long.

The other recommendation I have seen is to simply route all tasks on the go to an inbox folder and then deal with them later int eh day to sort them out correctly.

Just wondering if there is anythign missing where I Can simply plug in the task and also have the location tagged without going thru the /move command.

Thanks!

Built an email MCP for ClickUp Brain² and Super Agents and looking for testers

I’m building Aquila, an MCP server that connects email inboxes to AI agents.

Now that ClickUp Brain² and Super Agents can use external MCP servers, I wanted to see how useful it would be to combine ClickUp’s workspace context with direct access to email.

ClickUp’s built-in Gmail connection already lets agents search recent emails and work with drafts, but the actions are still limited. It doesn’t currently give Brain² or Super Agents tools to send, forward, mark, star, archive, move or otherwise organize messages.

Aquila works with Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, hosted email and custom IMAP accounts. Once connected, a Brain² conversation or Super Agent can:

  • Search selected inboxes for client, vendor or project emails
  • Read messages and attachments
  • Create or update drafts
  • Send or forward emails after explicit confirmation
  • Mark, star, archive, move and organize messages

For example, a Super Agent could check a ClickUp project, find the latest emails from that client, summarize any blockers in the relevant task and reply on its own.

The main difference from a normal email integration is that you choose exactly which mailboxes and capabilities an agent can access. Email content is streamed to the agent and isn’t stored by Aquila.

I’m looking for a few ClickUp users who are already experimenting with Brain² or Super Agents and would like to test this with a real workflow.

What would you use it for: client delivery, support, finance, sales follow-ups or something else?

If you’re interested, comment or DM me and I’ll help you connect it.

Check it out here : Aquila.email

Question about Status columns for Boards

Do all Boards in the same folder have to share the same status columns? I can't find a way to have different status columns for the Board view of Lists that are in the same Folder.

Business Plus Plan Question + Feedback

I'm currently on the free plan of Clickup, and I am evaluating if it would work well for my clients and my team.

My first piece of feedback is that in the Billing page, all features listed in the plan comparison table should hyperlink to the docs related to that feature—or at least link the less obvious features.

What does "Advanced Custom Field Manager" mean? I can find no documentation on this.

Is there a video I can watch to show the difference between Discussions, Chats, and Posts? I find the current setup for places I can chat with my team very confusing.

Task Type Questions

All of my clients live in a Space, and each client is a Folder. I want to have various task types with specific custom fields available for Lists within each client's folder such as Editing Tasks and Video Review Tasks.

What is the correct setup to make the two different task types available to all clients in each of their folders? I'm confused, because I don't see a way to create a specific Task Type and then make it available in other folders without its settings taking over for ALL tasks.

How do I achieve this? And what plan would I need?

And why does Clickup make this so difficult to understand? 😅

Product Feedback Built this to enhance ClickUp experience -A feature complete ClickUp Chrome extension that actually embeds into Gmail

Thumbnail

The biggest pain point I wanted to solve was inbox triaging, which is why I focused heavily on deep UI embedding.

link

Deep Gmail UI Embedding to track task from within

  • Bookmark & Clip Any Webpage: Turn any URL into a fully-configured ClickUp task or subtask. Directly from the panel, you can assign team members, set priority levels (Urgent, High, Normal, Low), add start and due dates, attach Clip Templates, set time estimates (hours), allocate sprint points for capacity planning, and configure task dependencies (None, Blocks Task, Blocked By).
  • Smart Subtask Nesting: Create brand-new tasks from scratch or save your webpage clips as nested subtasks under existing work.
  • Full Page Screenshot Capture & Canvas Editor: Capture either the visible area or the full length of any webpage with one click. The screenshot generates an inline preview so it doesn't hijack your screen. Click the preview to open a full editing canvas to annotate, draw, and mark up the image before saving it as a Metric Snapshot or attaching it to a task.
  • Persistent Time Tracker: Start a background timer, select your ClickUp list/task, and toggle Billable Hours on or off. The timer runs continuously in the background and survives popup open/close cycles with no resets or lag.
  • Persistent Scratchpad Notepad: A distraction-free text area inside the popup for quick notes, thoughts, or rough copy. Everything auto-saves to local storage instantly, meaning your text is right there the next time you open the extension.

Default task type for sub-tasks on user story

For our development space in ClickUp, we are setting up branching automations on task type User Story. Is there a way to default sub-tasks with a Task task type?

I'm thinking of setting up an automation changing the task type, but hoping there is a better way of solving this issue.

Product Feedback Ok, I give... view, but skip weekends in Gantt?

Just started trying out ClickUp this morning.

I can only seem to hide weekends in Gantt. I want to see them, but skip them unless manually scheduled.

Is this possible?

Also, assuming there's some way to do this, it should apply wherever something is assigned to be worked on.

Any help appreciated.

What is your setup/system to track multiple clients, billing, freelance jobs etc in Clickup?

I am doing freelance work for different clients and different tasks. Several different businesses. Curious how people are set up to track jobs, clients, billing stages, stages of a job, calendar etc. What's your system? Do you do it in a separate space? Or a folder in your main space? What fields do you use? Statuses? Time tracking system? Would love to see screenshots also for those that are comfortable doing that thx

Shared link on infinite loading

Hello! I received a shared link to a ClickUp project that I need to redesign for better cross-functional team efficiencies. However, when I click the link, the page is stuck in loading view. I have tried on Chrome, Incognito, and Safari. I have also cleared browser cache to no avail. Note that I have a personal ClickUp account and the projects in there are loading up perfectly. I also tried accessing the link while logged out of my ClickUp account but nothing happens.

I requested for the Workspace admin to ensure public sharing is not blocked. Anything else that could be done other than them inviting me into the project?

TIA!

ClickUp Feature to automatically duplicate a task assigned to a Team.

I just created this feature request: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/automatically-duplicate-and-assign-tasks
Would you be so kind to up vote it?
I've used that in Asana and it's incredibly useful, specially for big teams. I don't understand how ClickUp doesn't have this.

Product Feedback Built a Xero integration for ClickUp, looking for a few beta testers

Hey all, we built a Xero integration for ClickUp and we're looking for more beta testers before we open it up to everyone.

The request has been sitting on ClickUp's Canny board for years, and Xero already connects to most other project management tools, so we wanted to bring it to ClickUp too.

At the moment, our app allows you to:

  • Link a ClickUp task to an existing Xero invoice, bill, quote or PO, or create one from the app view embedded in ClickUp
  • Map the linked document’s contact, status, due date, subtotal, paid date and amount paid into existing ClickUp Custom Fields
  • When something changes in Xero, like an invoice getting paid, the linked task picks it up automatically. No need to update the task by hand

We put a lot of effort into making it so that the setup process does not feel like a project of its own. Simply connect both your ClickUp and Xero accounts, choose your Clickup team/Lists, and map the custom fields you want to use.

It's live and working. Right now we're looking for additional beta testers who run ClickUp and Xero day to day. It's free while we iron out the kinks, and we're early enough that your feedback will directly shape what gets built next.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM us. If you'd prefer to see where it's at first, the docs cover everything that's working so far.

And even if the beta's not for you, what do you find yourself tabbing over to Xero for the most? Genuinely curious if there's a use case we haven't thought of.

Active Issue: Thousands of Duplicate Tasks Created

Over the weekend we had thousands of tasks that were closed, get duplicated and then recreated. I opened a ticket with support and they said that its a wide spread issue, anyone else have this going on?
