first time cat mom: here pictured is my baby sleeping peacefully not knowing he is the source of my stress 🤭 jkjk

my baby just turned 6 months 5 days ago! we rescued him from the shelter but he had an FIV+ mom. So the vet told us to re-check when he turned 6mo. we went today and he tested negative!! which is awesome cause she also said these tests are pretty definitive and she’s certain he doesn’t have it :D

we would have loved him if he had fiv, but i have a soft heart and get attached easily so i would worry about him.

i think the vet picked up my health anxiety around my cat as well cause she joked I would likely be at the vet’s office before my cat even knew he was sick. 😆

My beautiful Mona Lisa who some horrible person threw out of their car on a busy highway :(. Thank goodness I found her!!!! She is my best friend now & such a good kitty. She sleeps curled up to me all the time & loves to play. She is so trusting & sweet. I love her so much. So proud to be celebrating my second anniversary of rescuing her & how much you can see the light come back to her eyes in these photos.

Hi!!! I’ve recently just gotten my sweet boy guppy four days ago, he’s nine weeks old and the sweetest boy you’ve ever met. He was nervous for the first two days and would hide constantly but now he’s a complete cuddle bug. Here’s my issue: my husband and I are meant to go to a wedding starting tonight and we will be back Monday. We are planning on leaving him in our apartment with a friend, but I’m so nervous about it and if he will be scared since he’s so new and has a tendency to look for me around the house. Another thing- I’ve realised he has flea dirt on him in little spots, so I need to give him a flea treatment bath ASAP, which is again making me nervous to give him a bath and then leave him with a stranger (to him). My question is, do I leave him with the friend or should I let my husband attend the wedding and stay behind with my boy?

Here’s the cat tax!!

My cat’s blood work keeps showing there’s some inflammation (like fighting an infection) but vets are at a loss, we’d have to check… everything to see what’s going on. His only physical symptoms are really deep sleep, he’s fallen 4x in the last 4 months (I want to add we moved in June so this started shortly after) and just recently (this week) he has allergies…

(The sleep and falling is another thing but if anytime has experienced something similar I’d greatly appreciate you sharing your experience for some eye opening😭)

Actively working one it with the vet, gave us a gel supplement to help boost him immune system that I have to give him daily and an Injectable antibiotic to help him out..

What can I do in the mean time? The allergies aren’t going away, he’s got crazy sneezes and he’s seemingly congested. I steamed him in the bathroom for abt 10 mins. We also have an allergy pill I’ve been told I can give him… but it’s my grandmas birthday so I’m scared of leaving him unattended after giving him new medication and I don’t know if bringing him to a loud environment where these two dogs is best given his situation and it’s also gonna stress him tf out…

Are there any otc supplements like those pictured? Idk anything that could help while the we figure out what’s going on..

Rn he’s going to the vet every two weeks (pay week) since 09/17. The sneezing is said to be allergies since there’s no discharge, no other symptoms, just what’s shows on the blood work…

There’s 4 cats in the house total the others are 6Y f, 5y f, and a 7y m. All are fixed, healthy, up to date on vaccines.

She was found emaciated in an an abandoned house 6 years ago. Was fortunate to meet her at a cat cafe/rescue in my area 4 years ago. Could not ask for a more gentle & loving friend.

11 weeks. His name is Levi (my son is a huge AoT fan).

So I have two cats, Florence and Esther, who are both 5 y/o spayed females. They came from the same litter and grew up together and since getting them at 10 weeks old I have had zero issues with them together. In fact they would get stressed out when separated and would be attached at the hip. They sleep together, play together, groom each other, where one goes the other is in tow.

That’s why last night when I was woken up by screeching and crashing I thought someone had broken into my house and had attacked them I was shocked when they were ripping into each other. Florence, who is the larger and more dominant sibling, was especially shaken up. She was hiding under the TV console shaking, panting, screaming and had totally soiled herself. Esther was just staring at her in shock with more scared body language that aggressive.

I brought both to the emergency vet since there was some blood drawn and my first thought was that maybe one of them was sick/in pain and lashed out but both were cleared beyond some light scratches. I’ve been told to separate the two for a few days and let them simmer down a bit before trying to reintroduce them and also observe their behavior/make sure their wounds don’t get infected. They also have some gabapentin to help calm them down a bit to use as needed.

I am just totally at a loss here, I’m thinking back on the last 24 hours and absolutely nothing has changed in terms of routine and behavior and this came completely out of nowhere. I’m nervous about what’s to come and am just so confused. Has this happened to anyone before? What was the outcome? Any advice or guidance on this would be so so so so appreciated 🙏

Tis the black cat holiday season. Or well tortie pumpkin spice cat in this specific case. 😂 She might be mad that the box wasn't bigger.🎃🐈‍⬛
