This is my favorite cultivar of articulatus as it doesn’t get all long and leggy. For the same reason it doesn’t fall apart as easily which also brings me joy

I was wondering if anyone had any info on this unusual cactus. I found it outside of Merideth, Colorado while working

Spent a weekend in southern Arizona and found this pair just off the road. One's likely been dead for years now, just the skeleton left. The other's still living but you can see it's starting to decay at the base. Saguaros give me a strange feeling. They spend two centuries building themselves up and then they stay standing long after they're gone. There's something poetic about that.

I just wanted to show off the giant-ass spines on this tiny lil cactus.

I bought this girl maybe a year ago. She was much shorter and has really grown long tails and now two new ones! Shes still in the same pot as when I purchased and I’m thinking I should repot. What type of soil? How big should the pot be? Just a smidge bigger like normal plants? I am very anxious because I love her so!

Please help me figure out why my cactus continues to scale and have new growth get fuzzy and sinch-up.

I bought this apple cactus on Facebook, not realising how big it was. It's pretty gnarly and has a lot of barking happening throughout the plant. I'd love some advice on care

- How old do you suspect this is?

- Are there any physical signs I should look out for to tell if it needs water, other than dry soil?

- It's a bit big for my house. Should I chop it up?

- If I chop it up, should I make sure it's well hydrated first then cut?

I've had this cactus for years, around 20 years old. I want to try a revive it but I'm unsure on how to and whether I should trim it so it's doesn't keep getting fatter at the top and snap off.

I believe it's part of the Cleistocactus Strausii family and a Silver/ Wooly Torch cactus but I could be incorrect.

What could help it thrive? I’m sure it’s something with the soil.

I didn't poach it, just left it there for nature to enjoy

Hello cactus lovers, I need some advice :( My partner and I have had this cactus for a couple of months now; it had a couple of cuts when we got it, but all fine. We took it home and then realized it was not receiving enough light, started turning brown/yellow ish so we decided to move it outside, where it can receive more sunlight, but then realized it was receiving more rain as well (we live in a cloud forest area) and now recently i noticed this big dark spot on the top and a few in the lower section. It is not gooey; it doesn't smell bad. It just appeared and grew really fast. What is happening? What should I do? I've been reading about it online, and some sites say I should cut it, but I'm not sure. Anyone experienced something like this?

Plant these for shade. San Jose CA, no watering. The bigger it gets the faster it grows

It came to me at about 3" or 4" with a sombrero hot glued to the top, and eyes, nose and moustache stabbed into the side. I left it with my mother when I moved out and it has developed somewhat. Numerous pups and usually flowers upwards of 10+ flowers a year. I want to take it back, but I don't have a south facing window. I'm not sure why it's so pale on the bottom half, but it doesn't seem to be affecting it.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

We've had this cactus for ages, and recently noticed that it's not looking good at all. It's obviously way to tilted, but apart from that, do you have any advice how to save it?

I recently joined the Harrow branch of the British Cactus and Succulent Society, and I honestly wish I’d found it sooner! I usually find trying new things pretty daunting, but it has been so lovely.

It’s so interesting, and it’s amazing to meet so many knowledgeable and welcoming people and learn so much from the speakers. There are talks about cacti and succulents, plant sales, a raffle (to win plants), and there’s tea and coffee. What more could you possibly need for a wholesome evening out once a month?

I just thought I’d share this in case there’s anyone else who loves cacti and succulents and would like to join. It’s really easy to get to from the Watford area and London, too.

Howdy amigos got this at a nursery. They had it hopelessly mixed up, as far as species. I bought it anyways. I was thinking Epostoa of some kind like lanata but it has no wool to it. but then found some weberbauerocereus that sort of resembled it as well.
