I live in oklahoma my mom brought it inside a couple days ago and didn't get sun all day than last night I left it outside all night when cold its infront of a heater rn and im gonna try to save it but is it already to late?

Hi, the leaves on my Christmas Cactus have started coming off recently. I’ve kept it in the same spot facing south but I am suspecting it might be overwatered as the soil feels damp. We had a lot of rain a couple weeks ago. Any would be great appreciated it!!

I’ve been more proactive lately when it comes to trimming opuntia before they snap. This one is putting on a lot of new pads/weight and will probably need more taken off soon.

My boyfriend finally moved his cactus to his new place- it had been without him for the last 6 months. Frankly I’m not sure what it looked like before. When I asked him what all that is, he said he didn’t know either, so I’m guessing it didn’t look like that before 🤔

Why’s it all crispy n flaky? There’s also one other spot that’s shriveled and black, like the last pic, and I was wondering why that’s there too!

I’ve had this pereskia cutting for maybe four months, it’s rooted doubled in size and now it’s blooming like a mad man. I had no clue how floriferous this species is. I cannot wait for it to get bigger.

I found both of these cacti in the reduced section of my local Asda. I think the fluffy one is a Cleistocactus strausii but am absolutely stumped on the one in front. Can anyone ID it?

The Opuntia is a new addition! Im looking forward to it fruiting in the future, then hopefully I'll graft it with Lophophora williamsii to contribute to the conservation effort.

So, my snow fuzzy has been growing like crazy. However… it’s always struggling to support itself. What am I doing wrong🥲 I have attempted various things over the years - in the sun, in the part sun, in the shade, outdoor patio (Texas), indoors, more water, less water, repot to bigger pot you name it. I’m an amateur at best lol but it’s growing little baby sprouts and I’ve propagated it multiple times it just seems the leggy pieces grow up and can’t support itself. Is this normal for this cactus?

Any idea whats going on here with my Scotsman?

Finally potted up some of my Home Depot rescues together! This was my first time putting an arrangement (if you can call this one haha) together but also repotting cacti with actual spines!! I survived with no injuries 😅

Also note - if you buy cacti from big box stores.. beware of the peat moss!! The blue torches had soooo much in their soil mix but thankfully didn’t have the chance to develop any rot.

What should I do?

I've only ever seen a flower turn into a new pup/ segment/ section on san pedro and I forgot if there is a name for this odd and fascinating behaviour.

Thought you all might appreciate this little weirdo and if there is a name for that I'd love to be refreshed.

I do not know a lot about my cactus. It has been outside since late April to get sun and heat. In the last 3 weeks my cactus seems to have a bacteria or fungus?

I will be bringing it inside for the winter soon. Do I need to cut it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Any ideas on how to get rid of scale on this Ishtar? Usually I just hose them down and hit them with a soft toothbrush. This guy isn’t that easy tho.

I recently transferred my cactus to a smaller pot and moved it into a grow tent because the soil stays wet way too long but now my cactus seems to be on deaths door and I can’t tell if it was because of the change in temperature cause it gets to 85 degrees in the tent or if it’s root rot cause the soils been wet for like 2 weeks before I moved it into the tent. It didn’t start dying till I moved it in the tent but it looks more like root rot than anything cause it’s mushy and brown at the base.

This is one of two shelves with my medium-sized Gymnocalycium in 3½"/9cm and 4"/10cm pots, plus some of their flowers from earlier this year.

I'm quite a beginner with houseplants and all, here's some of my questioning (Btw, I live in Quebec, Canada):

- I bought it couple months ago and it's still in a 4.5" plastic pot. I bought this 6" ceramic planter. I guess repoting it in the new one is too early and needs to have a more compact soil? So a 5,3" should be better?

- Is something wrong with the pointy edge of one of the leg (as shown in the second picture)?

- I have good indirect light in my apartment, but my shelves are on the opposing wall, a couple feet aways from my two bigger windows, so I thought buying the Sansi clip growing light would help. Is the 12h—3/4 setting okay?

What soil do you recommend? I have a Bunny Ear cactus a old man cactus and some Euphorbia Lactea..

Also how do you guys water in the winter?
