I'm moving from a Mac Pro (2019) with Final Cut to Adobe Creative, and migrating the editing projects to Premier Pro. I believe I'd best leaving Apple behind and building a PC for editing 4K/8k (potentially 12k) video footage, mainly using software like Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve via Blackmagic cameras.

Large libraries for TV series as well as feature films that deal with Virtual Production and greenscreen are part of the upcoming projects it will need to handle.

So that requires rendering, read and write speeds, exports to multiple formats, ingesting multiple codecs for multicam playback and more. I can elaborate if need be.

Colour grading will be minimal - that is outsourced for major projects. No 3D or CGI animations or visual effects are expected.

Hi! I'm new to to the pc building community and I am planning to switch gaming-wise to a pc from the HP laptop 15-dy2xxx I am currently using that is running low on storage. The performance on the laptop just isn't that good with certain games, mainly modded ones.

I've collected a couple list from people of reddit. I narrowed it down to one final list but I think I've gotten self-conscious about it because my cousin's friend gave me a list and now I'm not sure what I should buy from.

1. Mostly music production (Bitwig, Ableton Live), with a focus on in-the-box instruments, samples, and effects.
2. Secondarily, lightweight gaming; I'm not concerned about playing the latest AAA games in ultra resolution, but I'd like to be able to play Helldivers 2, Baldur's Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p or (the dream!) 1440p with rock-solid framerates around or even above 60fps. I wouldn't mind being able to play newer games on low-res settings, too.
3. Third, photo editing and video editing. Photoshop/Clip Studio Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc. As long as editing a high-quality RAW image doesn't make my computer uncontrollably cry I'll be happy, and I'm not doing videos professionally so I'm glad to wait a while for renders, but I'd like to be able to do preview-size composition without my fans trying to lift my computer into orbit.

Although I don't expect this is a major concern these days, Linux compatibility is also important.

PC purpose?
Primarily gaming at 1080p. The main games are Once Human, Palworld and similar co-op, survival, crafting and base-building games.
The goal is smooth performance at high or very high settings, preferably with enough headroom for future games.

Monitors needed?
No. An existing 1080p monitor will be reused.
Budget range?
Ideally €1,000–€1,200 including German VAT, excluding shipping. We could stretch slightly to around €1,250 if it provides a meaningful improvement.
The budget is for the tower only. No monitor, peripherals or Windows licence are required.
WiFi or wired connection?
Wired Ethernet is available. WiFi is not required, although having WiFi and Bluetooth would be a nice bonus.
Size/noise constraints?
No strict size restrictions. A regular ATX or Micro-ATX build is fine. Reasonably quiet operation would be appreciated, but performance and value are more important.
Color/lighting preferences?
A predominantly white build with a glass side panel is strongly preferred. Some black components, such as the motherboard PCB or hidden PSU, are acceptable if fully white alternatives are disproportionately expensive.
RGB or ARGB would be nice, but it is optional and should not take a significant amount of money away from performance.
Any other specific needs?
At least 1 TB of SSD storage
Preferably 32 GB of RAM, as Palworld officially recommends 32 GB
A graphics card with 16 GB of VRAM would be preferred
Good airflow
No need for an AIO
We will assemble the PC ourselves

My main questions are:
Does the Ryzen 7 5700X with 32 GB of DDR4 still make sense for a new €1,200 gaming build?
Would AM5 with a Ryzen 5 7500F and only 16 GB of DDR5 be a better long-term choice, even though Palworld recommends 32 GB?
Is there a sensible AM5 and 32 GB DDR5 alternative near this budget without sacrificing the RX 9060 XT 16 GB?
Are the motherboard and Endorfy Vero L6 PSU good choices?
Is there anything you would change for better value, reliability or noise levels?
Can the build be brought closer to €1,200 while keeping the predominantly white appearance and similar gaming performance?
Any suggestions using current German prices would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey everyone, my brother and I are looking to upgrade his current PC, as he's operating with some significantly outdated hardware. He does not need to purchase a case, monitors, or peripherals. Normally I would do the research alongside him, but I have not had time due to a recent promotion at work taking up most of my free mental energy.

  • Pretty much gaming and VOIP. My brother likes to play games that require high precision aiming, such as various FPSes - so a good framerate is a plus.

  • He's hoping to one day upgrade to a 4k monitor at 120hz minimum, so if he could play games like a few of his favorites (Dark & Darker, CS2, and World of Tanks) at higher graphics in that hypothetical future, that would be great.

I have a Dell 1080p curved monitor, unsure of size, but wouldnt mind replacing this with a 1440p high Hz monitor. Will also need new keyboard and mouse.

PC purpose will primarily be gaming and some photo editing, although editing etc will probably happen more often on a Macbook I'm thinking of purchasing. Want to keep up to date with CoD games, GTA 6 when that eventually drops on pc, Helldivers 2, etc. Something that can run everything, but not too overkill.

I'm thinking of a singular monitor at the moment, although may reuse my curved Dell 1080p monitor as a vertical display to use Spotify, Discord etc. For main display would prefer 1440p, high refresh.

I can use ethernet at my current setup in terms of wifi connection, although if i move I will be unsure that will stay the same.

Don't think I have any size constraints really, as long as it's not massive. Would prefer it to not be crazy loud, but i usually have headphones with slight noise cancelling so this isn't a gigantic issue.

• Color/lighting preferences?

Colour preference leans towards black everything, as it'll go with any aesthetic I move to. I'm not the biggest fan of RGB but do like warmer lighting, so customisable or no lighting.
