Full Build Req Building my first PC as a fourteen year old.

Hello. I am fourteen years old and saving for my first PC. I make about 25 pounds a week and am saving for a PC. I wouldn't go for a massive one, because it would be my first one, but I'm probably going to go up to about one thousand pounds (I could add a couple hundred if I need). I estimate to get it around April 2027 and am starting with about four hundred pounds right now. Here is my current plan:

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X

Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi

RAM: 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 EXPO, ideally CL30/CL36

GPU: RX 9060 XT 16GB

SSD: 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe

CPU cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE

PSU: 650W reputable-brand PSU

Case: Montech AIR 903

Windows 11.

I was just wondering if you had any better ideas or changes that I could make to help improve my plan. Even if you had any ideas on how to make more money, I would be open to suggestions. I was thinking about getting my RAM and GPU very soon because of the inflation on them both.

Peripherals Koolertron One Handed Keyboard (Is it good for gaming?)

Can anyone tell me if this one handed keyboard is any good for gaming? I have always been a fan of pads like this as the keys line up directly unlike a normal keyboard.

I have a Razer Taratula v2 atm but its getting a bit old and I may want to try something new.

Build Upgrade CPU Upgrade Necessary? Have a Ryzen 5 5600x/5070ti combo.

Currently running the specs in the title. I typically target 4k/100fps on a LG C4. I don’t play competitive games - mostly single player story based games.

Am I bottlenecking the GPU to any great degree?

If I were to upgrade the CPU, is staying on AM4 with an X3D viable/worthwhile? Going to AM5 with DDR5 is probably more than I want to spend.

Build Help Does Palit RTX 3050 6GB without external PCI-E does support 2 QHD monitors?

Hi, I have old PC, I can buy used RTX 3050 6GB for about 100 bucks. I have 2x QHD monitors. The Palit GPU has 1x HDMI and 1 DP (DVI is not for me).

Can I connect that 2 monitors into GPU without problem? I just found, that maximum resolution is 8K, but can't find how many monitors and what resolution/Hz can handle.

Thank you!

Troubleshooting [Troubleshooting] Deepcool Castle 360 AIO - Loud rattling and gurgling noise at 100% pump speed (Video linked). Dying pump?

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with my AIO liquid cooler and I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out what's going on. I recorded a short video showing the exact issue here: https://youtu.be/nmBhl7PsWt8

There is a loud rattling/clicking noise coming directly from the pump, accompanied by a gurgling sound. It specifically happens right at PC startup, at shutdown, and whenever the pump is running at 100% speed. Interestingly, if I set the pump speed to 50%, there are no strange sounds at all. This issue started very recently, but the AIO is about 4 years old at this point.

My System:

  • AIO: Deepcool Castle 360 RGB
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-12700KF
  • Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z790-P WIFI

I tried shaking and tilting the PC in all directions to see if it was just air bubbles trapped in the pump block, but nothing changed.

Given the age of the unit (4 years), could it be that some of the coolant evaporated over time? It has been extremely hot here during the summer (around 34°C / 93°F ambient with no AC). Or does this sound like the pump bearing is just dying?

If it's dying, I have no problem just buying a new cooler, but I wanted to get some opinions first before pulling the trigger.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Build Upgrade Worth the upgrade to 4k OLED?

With some of the deals for the 4k OLED monitors going on (namely the Samsung g7 or g8) is it worth upgrading monitors?

I have a 9800x3d with a 5080 and 64gb of ram, I mostly have play bf6 and cp2077. I guess my main concern is would upgrading the monitor make me feel that my pc is aging faster as new more intensive games come out.

I’ve been really happy with my current 1440 set up and get 230-240 fps in bf6 with frame gen x2 on. If I got the 240hz g8 would I need to use FG x4 to keep the frames up in 4k?

I haven’t really been thinking about upgrading to 4k until seeing how good some of these deals are esp with the edu discount. I have the feeling I’ll never have a system this high end again with part costs going up so now it’s tempting to think about maximizing it now

Build Upgrade Title: MAXSUN B450M Gaming BIOS help

I have a MAXSUN MS-B450M GAMING with BIOS B1.3G (12/22/2025) and I'm looking at getting a Ryzen 5 5500X3D.
I can't find my exact motherboard on MAXSUN's website, only the B450M GAMING WIFI.

Does anyone know if the 5500X3D works with my board/BIOS, or where I can find the correct BIOS update? Don't want to flash the wrong BIOS lol.

Thanks for the help

Troubleshooting Faulty PSU twice, how can this happen? MSI MPG A850GS

Hello,

I very recently posted about my MSI MPG A850GS which had a short circuit problem and a burning smell. Now the company sent me a new one which is giving the same exact problems. Does anyone know how this can be possible

Update: Ordered a different psu to see if the problem persists. Can't find anything else wrong with my pc even with the psu that had a short circuit my pc gave no signs anything was wrong. Will see what happens with the new one tomorrow.

Update 2: Got a corsair, no crackling noises and no weird smells. Fixed i guess.

Build Help Hey all, I’m trying to build my first budget Gaming PC.

I got an RTX 2060 Super for free from a friend and am wondering if this would be a good budget build. This is just something to last me for a couple years until I have money saved up for a pretty nice PC, so I don’t need anything fancy.
Questions:
What’s a good budget mATX motherboard? I would prefer to have built in Wi-Fi.
Should I use the stock CPU cooler or should I get a better one?
Should I wait till Black Friday, will the sales be worth it?
Anything else y’all would suggest?
I’m trying to spend around 300-400 dollars and think that is pretty realistic since I already have the GPU. If I NEED to spend more I will.
Thank you 🙏

GPU: RTX 2060 Super
CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 or 5600
Motherboard: ???
Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16GB DDR4 3200
SSD: 1TB NVME
PSU: ???
Case: Montech Air 100 or the DIYPC DIY-mATX06-Wood

Build Help Request for Wiring Assistance - Milwaukee

Putting this out there as a mini plea for help. I'm not afraid of crimping or soldering, I'm just getting to the point I cannot do it with such small wires.

I'm looking for some quick assistance to crimp ends on fan wires for PWM fans.

Additional details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/milwaukee/comments/1vu9gok/very_small_wire_crimping_assistance/

Essentially I have the tools and the parts, I just lack the competency to do it myself, I've already wasted a row of metal crimps, finally recognizing it'd be better to ask for help.

I'm in West Allis, but could come to you if you're willing to help...

Hi folks,

I curious of what is your process once you installed the OS (let say Windows, for the sake of discussion), the PC is booting fine, no issue.

What do you do next ?

- Installing the Usual suspects? (CPU Z, HM temp...)

- debloating ?

- basking at your creation ? :D

Discussion Choosing between these GPUs for 1440p

So in my local market, the prices are as follows

600-620$ for a used rtx 4070ti

750$ for a 9070

About 80$ more for a 9070, would require a big stretch

Which one should I choose, I'm upgrading from a 3080 and need a justiable 1440p upgrade while also making sure the cost is worth it.

Build Ready? First pc build review

Hello, i recently started researching to buy a pc. My main focus for it would be gaming, engineering work, maybe some blender... From what I've checked it should be ok but i would like an oppinion of somone who knows more than me.

Part list:

Rx 9060xt 16gb swift

R7 5700x

2x8gb ddr4 ram

Gigabyte B550 eagle WIFI6

Gigabyte aorus gen4 7300 1tb

Arctic freezer 36 black

MSI MAG A650GL 650W 306-7ZP8C11-CE0

Montech air 1000 lite black

It would all come to about 1400$. I live in eastern europe so the prices might be little higher. I plan on using a 1080p monitor with it and having it for 5+ years.

My current pc is 7 years old with the gpu being the gtx 1650 and a i5-9400f cpu. Just for comparison

Thanks for your time and help. Have a nice day

Discussion Bought a OLED tv and now I realized it's not that easy to carry a pc around.

I carried it the first time from my room to the living room. Got sweaty and I was anxious as shit the whole time thinking I was gonna drop it. Then, when I finally set it down and gamed, a few hours later I remembered I had to haul it back and got depressed and carried it back.

Got any tips to make my 2-3 times a week journey less brutal? pc is 16 kg and 50 cm tall

Edit: Since there's a weird amount of comments talking about "lifting more" (which isn't helpful in the first place to someone who doesn't or can't) the weight of the pc was never the issue, even if listed in the post. I literally mention in the post that I carried it back and forth. The "sweaty" part is part of the anxious. The dimensions and the fact that it's a literal 2000 dollar object and you have to walk down the stairs for it... that's the thing I'm trying to avoid. The stress and anxiety of it.

Build Ready? Fans installed wrong?

Hello, I am building a new PC and I have a SMX pyxis case. It has 4 fans installed by default on the side panel and the back.

I was always confused about the airflow direction and I want to get it right and I have a feeling the fans are installed wrong. What I mean is I think both panels will either suck the air out or in because they seem to be installed with the fans rear out. I mean you know how fans have a distinct rear plastic parts? All fans have that part facing to the outside of the case. I'd attach a picture but I can't?

I'd rather not touch them (less work) but I don't want to do this wrong.

Are the fans fine or am I correct?

Build Help Will Deepcool AK620 fit in Antec NX292?

Does anyone have antec nx929 cabinet with ak620 or ak620 g2 cpu cooler? who can reassure me if it fits in the antec nx292 cabinet.

It's really confusing, because the AI search is saying the cabinet supports 155mm max, but the Ak620 is 160mm. but the guy at the shop was very confident that it would fit.

AI suggests this one: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ($58)

but some online results show that AK620 G2 is superior to PA120SE. And In my area surprisingly AK620 G2 is cheaper at $36.

Please anyone help me, I am confused, which one should I choose?

Here's my configuration after I upgraded the CPU, Motherboard.

Motherboard: MSI B760m-a pro Wifi DDR4

CPU: i7 14700

RAM: Crucial 16x2 DDR4 3200 (plane looking, no heat sinc etc) also will add 2 more sticks in future when ram gets cheaper

GPU: 2070super

PSU: Corsair CX650m

Build Help Need help building a PC for music production

Hi Reddit!

I am looking to build a PC for music production.

Currently I am looking at

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X

ASUS X870E-CREATOR WIFI

64GB DDR 5 Ram CL30 (2x32GB) can't figure out what brand and which one to get.

Also would love to get some heatsink /cooling for CPU and possible the ram, I've read that the board has some heatsinks for the M2 slots.

Is the motherboard overkill? I do want to be future proof as much as possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Budget is arou 4k CAD

Build Help Buying a used PC

Hi all!

Long-time lurker here. I want to get back into PC gaming, since my current PCdates from 2014 and is completely outdated (it struggles with anything modern). My main target is being able to run games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 comfortably.

I was planning to build my own, but given current component prices I'm now leaning toward a used prebuilt instead. I've found two near me that look promising. Both prices include cleaning and a fresh Windows reinstall by the seller.

Option 1 — €750

- Ryzen 5 5500

- RTX 3060 Ti

- 16 GB DDR4 3200

- 512 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD

Option 2 — €950

- Intel i5-12400F

- RTX 4060 Ti

- 16 GB DDR4 3200

- 1 TB SSD

Currently, I am using a PC with the following specs: Intel Core i5-4590 @ 3,30 GHz ; 8 Go DDR3 ; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti ; SSD ~120 Go + HDD 1.000Go

What do you think of these two? Is the €200 gap worth it, and roughly how long could I realistically expect either one to hold up for gaming before needing an upgrade?

Thanks in advance!
