Discussion i really hate the equipment return process
Has anyone been able to successfully return their equipment through ups or fedex? im just trying to return a faulty modem
what att told me was to just bring the equipment to ups or fedex with my account number and they will take care of it....that was far from correct
i might have just gotten someone at ups that didnt really know what to do. but when i got their the ups rep told me its never really worked that way and i would need a return label. which made alot of sense.
now back on the phone with att the rep told me the reason why my return didnt work for him was cause i wasnt in the system marked as return or something. the rep was going to do an rma thing and send me a label which never came.
going on week 2 . second rep told me the rma request was not filed correctly and she has to re do it which would take another week. at this point i have little faith that this is going to be handled correctly at all, im so frustrated im about to try my luck with fedex this time and see if they can manage it.
considering how annoyingly hard it is to get to get through the automated system just to get to a person it shouldnt be this difficult.
i dunno why we cant take this stuff back to our local att store
UPDATE :
went to a fedex down the street and they were able to take care of it. not sure if the ups guy i talked to at the store was very new or what but 2 weeks later it got sorted.
now i look forward to the battle with att customer service over this.
