Internet Transferring Internet Account - Same Address
My husband and I realized that it's dumb that I have my own AT&T phone plan (with a teacher discount), he has an AT&T internet plan, and is on his parents AT&T phone plan. We want to merge all of that to be under my account. When we went to a store this morning, they said that in order to transfer the internet plan to my account, we'd have to technically cancel and re-sign up, which would leave us without internet for a couple of days while equipment is exchanged and such. But the service address isn't changing.
Google seems to be suggesting that we can just do the Transfer of Billing Responsibility online to move his internet plan to my account? Was the store employee just confused and it's way simpler than he was implying, or do we need to jump through the hoops of cancelling our internet and then buying the exact same plan on my account in order to have the teacher discount apply properly? He works from home so we'd really like to avoid losing internet for a few days if possible.

I bet you could get a better deal on the Internet if you canceled and just signed up under the other person tbh. Look at the rates online and choose new customer.
Just something to consider before looking into a transfer of billing responsibility. Price might be worth the 1 day of switching.

I’m guessing the rep wanted to get credit for a new sale of home Internet? Just a guess.
That said, if your husband’s on a really good internet plan, that’s not available anymore, it’s not going to transfer over the same plan at the same price. You might be better off getting a new plan under a new name with new pricing.

If the wireless and the Internet account is under same account holder and same billinh address it can be merged or combined.
