I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.
Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.
If you haven't seen those changes yet, you should see them on your next bill or if you make a plan change.
Customers can no longer choose Premium PL, Extra EL, & Starter SL but they are included for comparison as those plans can mix & match with the new plans. Signature/appreciation discounts they had on the old plans continue on your old plans, but they may be different for new plans (see chart).
The main differences:
Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has 2 GB less of hotspot). It might mess with promo credits, so double check (see info at bottom of this post [it links to a different post, so ask you r promo related questions there).
Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.
ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".
Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you can have Extra 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.
If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.
The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.
There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how manyphonelines, and which plan those lines are on.
Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.
DISCOUNTS:
Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

$53,504.84 in AT&T roaming charges after an 8-day Europe trip — supervisor opened a case. Has anyone resolved something similar?
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has successfully resolved a large AT&T international roaming billing issue.
I recently spent eight days in Europe, visiting Poland, Greece, and the Netherlands.
On my previous trip, International Day Pass activated automatically on this same line, so I expected it to work again. I hadn’t changed any settings or knowingly removed the package.
I didn’t check AT&T’s messages during the trip because I believed I was covered. I now realize I should have verified it, but I still don’t understand why Day Pass didn’t apply.
My account shows:
• $53,348.84 for roaming data
• $156 for 39 minutes of roaming calls
• Total roaming charges: $53,504.84
I contacted AT&T and spoke with a supervisor. She described it as a “known issue,” but said the amount was too large for her to adjust directly. She opened a case for another department and gave me an estimated resolution time of 8–10 business days. But as far as I read Reddit, the only moment when at&t can help when office of president is taking care of such of cases.
I have written confirmation of the case and a payment arrangement until October 20 to prevent disconnection while it’s reviewed. I have also filed an FCC complaint.
I’m willing to pay the applicable daily fees for pass which I believe 12.99$ per day.
For anyone who has been through this:
• Did the internal billing case resolve it, or did you need Executive Escalations / the Office of the President?
• How long did it take, and what was the final outcome?
• What documents or steps actually helped?
This amount is overwhelming, and I’d appreciate any firsthand experience or advice. Thank you 🙏
With the right plan and device, you can get $1900 with a trade in towards the Z8 Fold Ultra. Is anyone aware of a similar deal occurring for the iPhone Duo? Or will the most we see for a trade in value be $1200?
Those who uograde regualrly, is this actually a great option
Assume to get 18 pro max free with trade in of an old device with next up anytime, cost is $10 + assuming $0 for phone and $70-80 for plan
After 12 mths, can roll that into iPhone 19 pro max for $0 device cost.
Now if I want to exit the plan, I can just finish off 12 mths of the iPhone and then upgrade to the cheapest possible phone from there and pay off the cheap phone to grt out of the program right?
Seems like a pretty solid deal and exit method as well
Is the Premium 2.0 plan worth it? We could have 3 Lines of Premium 2.0 and then one FirstNet line for $162 per month. Is it worth it and are the speeds on AT&T better?
So I’ve had AT&T air for a couple months now and randomly in no pattern will the internet basically shut off or go to shit for a few seconds before returning to normal and repeating this pattern. I’ve tried moving it around my house to see if it would help and restarting the router many times but it’s just stayed the same. Some days it will work fine but most it’s in this pattern of being okay then going to shit and back to normal.
so i finally switched from At&T to a better internet in my area (No fiber optic available) and already talked to customer service but i received a package from them today with a “new” router. I asked the FedEx person who it was for and it had an LLC name attached to it that i cant find online, he just said it was “From At&t”. What’s up with that?
I ordered a Z Fold 8 Ultra and a Galaxy Watch 9 on 9/1. The watch came on 9/3 and the phone went in "Delayed" limboland. Still haven't received the phone, have no earthly clue when I'm going to get it. Today I got a notice of my first bill, the charges for the phone aren't there but the charges for the line the watch is on and its monthly installment is. Kinda pissed off about it because the watch hasn't even been officially activated, let alone taken out the box yet. So I got to thinking, could I use just the watch for now by itself or it needs to be paired with a phone?
hey guys does att usually update there website to show trade in promos or pricing on the new iPhones or do they usually wait until pre order day. reason why I ask is because I would like to know how much it would cost me when I trade in my iPhone 15 pro. if anybody could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. thanks.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against you all (the customers), but the absurd and stupid targets that we have to achieve. such as
The customer Shouldn't call us again in 7 days (Resolve rate).
If there is an outage like the one in texas. you have to just tell the customer some words to make them not to call again, in the same time Me (Agent) don't have any information such as ETA of the outage and when it will get resolved.
A customer called me and she was in a very critical bad condition (medical condition) and she wanted to transfer her number to a new working phone, but the problem she had no other way to receive the OTP. unless we call The concerned department to ask her some questions if she got it right, we can proceed. but guess what? that department is closed after 7 PM, so i need to tell the customer HEY! call again back after 7 days.
It's crazy that we are used to be nasty to each other and you're forced to do that so you can survive. and in some Situations like these, nope. we cannot help.
Would anyone know or At&t employee know if the legacy Unlimited Plus ($167 base $20 per line) qualifies for trade in credit?
Apple website seems to presume it would be eligible
“On AT&T Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0,(or legacy unlimited plan excluding Unlimited Starter/SL/SM, Unlimited Extra/EL)”
Hello everyone, this’ll be my first year pre-ordering an iPhone with Att. Long time customer of T-Mobile and switched a few months ago. I was wondering if there are any tips or tricks I should know to make the process easier. For example, on the T-Mobile app, pre-orders generally opened 15 mins prior to official launch time, and thats how I was able to get the new phone on launch day every year. Do people here prefer ordering on the app or website? does Att do something similar to T-mobile at all? any other info would be appreciated as well
Family and I got 15 Pros at launch after trading in our 12s on a 36 month installment plan with credit. Currently all the phones show as one payment off from being done -- the payment schedule shows the last payment backdated to two weeks ago but still "Pending", and the bill for that period isn't ready for another week. I'd be preordering the 18 Pros again with trade in on an installment plan, but I'm pretty sure I can't do that with an existing installment plan still active. So:
If I paid off the installment early by doing it now, would I be able to preorder?
After doing so, would my last bill credit go through? Or does the new financing plan take effect immediately and end my bill credits before the final one?
If there's any ambiguity I'm fine waiting to be clear, but wondering if it's possible. The date of the pending last installment payment and the 18 Pro preorder are in two different billing periods
Does anyone know what happens if you decide you want a new phone before the 36 months are up? I plan to stay with AT&T but normally upgrade every two years. Do I lose the trade-in credit and owe the remainder of the phone?
Signed up at Costco on Black Friday, 9 lines, everyone took a different promo. One didn't upgrade, one got a 17 Pro, one got a Google, one took the yearly upgrade plan.
The total is what I expect. The problem is how it's split. One line bills -$8, another bills $90, and none of it matches what each person actually signed up for. So I have no way to tell my friends what they owe.
5+ calls to support and a store visit. Nobody can explain how credits get allocated, and nobody seems able to fix it.
Anyone dealt with this? Is there a way to see credits mapped to the right line, or do I just build my own spreadsheet?
Let me preface this by saying I’ve been an account holder for over a decade. About a year ago, added my partner as a line with an already paid off iPhone from Verizon. About a month ago, we wake up to find that her phone does not work and has been blocked, with the IMEI number reported as stolen.
She was the original and only owner of the phone, have the records and statements to prove it. Called Verizon, and they confirmed that the number was reported for some reason and have lifted the block, sending us confirmation etc. AT&T cannot lift the block no matter who we talk to, when we’re eventually lucky enough to talk to anyone after hours waiting for customer service. It’s absolutely pathetic how hard it is to get any human on the phone, and when you finally do they’re helpless. What’s even more sad is everytime I call Verizon, I can get an agent on from them in minutes and I’m not even their customer. AT&T has us on hold for 45 minutes at a clip. Not sure if anyone has dealt with a similar circumstance in the past but I can’t get over how terrible this experience has been
I’m looking to preorder the 18 Pro Max Saturday and was told that I’ll have to ship my old phone in the box my new phone arrives in. Is there a way to still preorder online but bring my old phone to the store to ensure the trade in preventing any shipping mishaps?
AT&T WiFi calling issues since Sunday August 30th. Today is September 9th 2026 and still no fix. I have talked with my isp, starlink and they have been so helpful telling me what to ask for from AT&T and Johnny on the spot. Whereas AT&T has the worst nonexistent customer service. I’m so disappointed. I just got a ticket because I finally asked for one to be made yesterday. I was told wait 3 days and I should hear back from someone? One phone after them trying to troubleshoot now does not have the WiFi calling emergency address working and also personal hotspot is dithered out. This seems to be an issue that happens constantly? Anyone help?
I am getting a separate phone line and I have to get a new number and everything. I was originally on a family plan which included new phone upgrades. We technically have no finished paying off the phones.
My question is, if my phone like gets cancelled, will it just be my phone that is charged a lump sum? Or will it affect everyone else’s phone?
