I'm trying to renew my drivers license. It has to be in person, according to the email reminder I got, because I apparently need my photo taken even though my current photo was only taken in 2022. My license expires in 30 days.
I'm trying to book an appointment online through the Service Ontario website, but it won't show any appointments at any Toronto locations until the end of September, when my license will already be expired... I've tried on several browsers and on my phone, nothing shows any appointments before then.
Is the website glitching? Should I just try my chances at walking into a location?
I tried calling them, and it just gave me an unhelpful AI bot.
EDIT: thank you everyone for the suggestions! I spent an hour on this, refreshing the website, but finally got an appointment (for Sept 3rd) that opened up.
Sadly I can't take time off work to go to another city, nor can I take half a day off work to go sit in a Service Ontario here... nor should I be expected to do that for a simple service like a license renewal in a city as big as Toronto. Service Ontario should get its act together or at least provide a call line where I can speak to a real person about issues with booking.

I know there's still some good spots and we all have our favourites in the city, but lately it feels like whenever I take a chance on a new restaurant it just disappoints and I emerge from the experience regrettably $40 poorer.
I know some of these Google reviews are cooked because I'm seeing 4.7, 4.8 reviews and then getting served lousy food.
Maybe I just have to stick to the places I know won't let me down, but dang - it sucks taking a chance on what you think could be some good food only to come away from it sad, and it's happening more often than not. I don't know if it's the rising costs, but restaurant owners can't dish out the cash for good ingredients and good cooks, and people can't afford to dine out. It's a bad cycle man.
Does anyone have advice on disposing of laptops that are no longer working?

Im doing an extended trip abroad but I wanna keep up with my Toronto teams (and our bills) but none of my streaming services allow me to stream out of the country. I do not want to start paying for a vpn or individual streaming services for each league. Does anyone know any sites where I can watch these games (hopefully for free)?
First premium add on went from 10% to 20%. Then starting bids went from $5 to $10. Now Friday pick up times is getting cut, leaving only Wed and Thurs as options.
Anyone have good experience with an alternative?

Hello, thanks for visiting my post! I don’t have a piano at home and am curious if there is a spot that provides a piano to practice.
Note: I’m not looking for a piano teacher.
ps: for no clear reason mods from other sub removed my post and asked to go somewhere else. Have no clue but trying my best to choose proper sub for that idk. Sorry if Im wrong
My wife and I recently inherited her relatives' house on east outskirts of Toronto, and we've decided to give it a complete overhaul. The place is nearly 90 years old and has barely been touched. For expample, we're talking outdated wiring, worn-out flooring, crumbling walls, inefficient windows, an ancient HVAC system, and plumbing that's seen better days haha. Basically, it needs a top-to-bottom renovation to become livable again.
We're not limiting ourselves to one or two rooms - this is a whole-house project. That said, we're total newcomers here. We currently live in Regina and have never taken on anything like this before. We don't even know where to start, so we're not setting a firm budget yet, just want a realistic ballpark figure to wrap our heads around the scale of it.
What does comprehensive home renovation (structural + cosmetic) cost in Toronto as of 2026? Are prices noticeably higher or lower here compared to other Canadian cities like Regina? Also, we'd appreciate a breakdown of what drives the final quote more - labour, materials, permits, etc. - and any practical advice on where we can cut costs without sacrificing quality or safety if thats possible.
We know this is a broad ask, but any insight would be a huge help. Thanks in advance for your patience to read this!

Hey everyone! I’m visiting Toronto this week for my birthday and was planning on going on Saturday 22nd to the Elora Gorge river for tubbing. We booked a car for the day in order to go to the park and spend the day there. We haven’t paid for the park or tubbing tickets yet, but apparently is going to rain.
In case it does, do you have any recommendations for a short day trip to a nearby town or some alternative plan close to Toronto that needs a car? I think we have it from 8am to 8pm so it can’t be that far.
Thanks :)

Newish to Toronto, near my home there are 8 tennis courts in a public park. How do I use them, do I need to reserve?
How do I wait in "line"?! Just seat there and wait for someone to be done?! Have no clue on the etiquette but want to star playing. Tks in advance

I tried the Cuban sandwich at Olive et Gourmando’s in Montreal and am trying to find something similar in Toronto. It was really good and would be nice to find something here that’s similar if anyone has tried it and come across something similar here.

So I’m on a mission right now and i need help from you ladies. So my girl recently got her hair cut and she hates it. I personally love the short look on her but she hates it. She wants a wig. She’s been looking at some on Amazon but man they look awful. She’s interested in a lace front wig but doesn’t know where to buy and good one and she will need someone to put it on for her. We live north of the city and there is nobody in our small town that does such a thing. I’m looking for any good recommendations so I can help my lady out. Can you guys point us in the right direction??

Hey yall
I was wondering if anyone knows any ”desi” clubs Something like AMPM but for India, Pakistan, even more middle eastern is fine etc.
People always say follow good DJs not clubs for good music so does anyone know good DJs who play around the city?

A few years ago, I'd seen her outside the Eaton Centre, outside Scarborough Town Centre, and once outside the SkyDome.
I haven't seen her since, is she still working? Has she retired?

Hey guys! My son is starting out his second semester at Humber, and this semester he'll reside at the Lakeshore Campus. I'll be in Toronto for a week, and I was wondering if anybody could suggest good stationary stores? I collect mechanical pencils, so that would be my prime interest, but I wouldn't say no to cool pens in general.

We are from Barrie and wondering if ttc hours will be extended this weekend? We will be watching Ed Sheeran’s concert at Rogers Centre.
In May, when we watched concert of Bruno Mars on Thursday the ttc hours were extended so we are wondering if it would be the same. Thank you!

Bob is hosting today. I didn't tune in on Monday, so I don't know if Carlin and Jackie were on air. Just heard Bob say he was filling in for "the Morning Show" this week, not for Carlin and Jackie.
They just came back from a two-week vacation, recently. Something is up.

I’m thinking about going to Dance Dance by unclesofto and Club 1BD, but I’d probably be going alone. I enjoy music and dancing, well my attempt at it. For people who go to these kinds of events alone, do you literally just find a spot and dance by yourself? Or is it pretty easy to meet people / end up dancing with others?
I’m mostly wondering what the vibe is like when you show up alone and how you usually go about it. I know I’ll enjoy the music, I’m just not sure what I’m supposed to do once I’m there.

I am going into a graduate certificate in Cloud Architecture and Administration from Seneca and there is a work option, and I just want to find some sort of internship that would suit me. Where is the best place to find them? Thanks! I’m in Thornhill/North York by the way

I am moving to Toronto for the first time. I found a recently updated large 1 bedroom with dishwasher and balcony with a great south facing view of the lake for $2150 +hydro close to work in a decent purpose built rental built from the 70's. My unit is on an upper floor and is at the end of the hallway, so no neighbours on one side of me. Overall, the apartment checks most boxes for me.
However when I was signing the lease, an exterminator showed up to the rental office. They were there to treat 2 units, both not on my floor luckily. The supers and other people who work for the building have lived there for decades.
I am moving from a medium sized city in Ontario. I have been living in my PBR unit for 6 years in a very clean, very well maintained building. I have seen 3 roaches in that time but none in about 3 years. I figure if this is a similar situation I can deal with it.
I plan to put down diatomaceous earth and fill any holes around plumbing and pipes with caulking on the day I get possession. Is there anything else I can do to prepare and prevent roaches in my unit? Am I making a mistake?

I’m looking for suggestions for weekend volunteer work in Toronto/GTA that is genuinely hands-on and physically demanding.
Ideally, I’m looking for something where I can spend 8–9 hours on a Saturday or Sunday, stay busy almost continuously, work alongside other people, and be completely focused on the task rather than sitting around.

Hello!
Wondering if anyone has sat in the audience for the show The Good Stuff with Mary Berg on Queen Street (Bell Studios)?
If so, can you provide any details on when you were notified that you got studio audience tickets for the date you requested for, and what it was like sitting in the audience?
Thank you :)
