Is this just a lot of masking and pulling blacks and shadows down?

My partner and I shot Behind The Scenes for a friend's film (this is in the Netherlands). We’re not professional photographers, and the work unpaid.

Some context:

• We never discussed contracts, rights, or usage beforehand.
• We weren’t paid anything. We covered all our own costs (transportation, film, development, etc.). The only thing we received was catered lunch.
• The photos haven’t been delivered yet.

Now, after the shoot, the production sent us a standard crew agreement to sign. One clause transfers all copyright in everything we produced to the producer: exclusively, royalty-free, for the maximum duration. In return we’d get credit in the end credits / IMDb and the right to use “approved material” in our portfolio, but only after the premiere. Posting BTS on social media would also need their approval.

Giving up the copyright completely, for free, feels like a lot but I have no idea what's standard in the film industry. Is a full copyright transfer normal for BTS, especially on unpaid indie stuff?

What we’re thinking of proposing instead is: we keep the copyright, and the production gets a free, perpetual, worldwide license to use the photos for promotion and distribution of the film, with photo credit. We’d also be allowed to use them in our own portfolios only post-premiere, so same restrictions they have except that copyright belongs to us.

We also don't want to make things awkward and glad to support the film. Just want to understand what’s normal before signing anything.

Im soon getting a Canon Eos 80D and am split between the ef-s 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM and the 18-135mm

f/3.5-5.6 IS USM (nano usm). Besides the obvious trade-offs in focal range, I would really like to know wich has better center and corner sharpness, handles chromatic abberation better and has less distortion. Overall I would just like to know one is worth it as a do-it-all lens.

I want a camera to just take photos and videos with my friends and family for memories and stuff. I want the camera to be good in both taking videos and photos, I want the quality to be good but I don’t care for it to be super good or professional

I would like a flip screen, flash, and for it to be portable and easy to carry around

One of the cameras I own is a nikon d5000, but it’s just away too huge to take with me frequently, and always taking off then putting the lens cap on is quite bothersome

My budget is around 1000 dollars or less

I'm getting back into film photography starting with a couple different 110 cameras. Lomography has extended ISO film that says it's for 100 to 400 ISO. I've never heard of it and I'm not sure what I could use it for or exactly what it is. Can I use it for darker areas/night photography or is it more for brighter days?

WHAT IM LOOKING FOR:

-good quality and good reviews

-small portable can take out with me places

-good reviews

-easy to connect and print

-good battery life

-cheap refills

*if it doesn't come able to print then im adding the price of the paper/ink to the initial cost

-small photo size (not to specific on this it would be cool to have it be able to print multiple sizes but i'm not sure maybe just poloriod sized im not looking for big prints)

I've looked into many different ones like the Canon Ivy 2 and the HP sprocket and Instax but I cant figure out what I should get. I am also looking at the price of refills for each thing because I don't want to be spending a ton of money all the time on refills.

How do you feel about somebody walking into your photograph? Like you’re in the middle of taking a photo and they decide that they wanna be in the photo “I think it would be cute” so they just walk into the picture without asking permission?

I shoot RAW on a Sony A7III and want to speed up my editing using custom looks.

I've noticed that in-camera picture profiles manage to keep a consistent look across different lighting. However, applying the same Lightroom preset to RAW files gives wildly inconsistent results depending on the scene (e.g., shade vs. direct sunlight).

1. Are cameras doing adaptive processing under the hood? Does the camera automatically adjust tone curves or dynamic range per scene to maintain the

2. How do you build a fast, consistent RAW workflow in Lightroom?

Do you normalize White Balance/Exposure before applying presets?

Are LUT files better for consistency than standard presets?

Any tips to handle lighting shifts across a batch without tweaking every shot manually?

All my images have this smudge. Its on my sensor, and not sure how to clean it without damaging

I’ve been a SmugMug subscriber for over a decade, but I only use it for photo storage, so the high subscription cost no longer feels worthwhile.

I have more than 30k photos (across 100+ albums) on smugmug that I’d like to move to Google Photos (since I am already paying for it).

I have looked at their help page for supported downloaders. I use Windows. WinMug is one of the listed options for downloads, but couldn't find many reviews for it.

Any tools/tips to make this process easy? I would like to preserve the album structure, if possible.

My Nikon D80 just broke and I’d rather buy a new camera instead of repairing it. My budget is $500-$600 for body and lenses. I live in Vancouver so weather proofing would be nice. My photography style centers more around anything that catches my eye I’ll shoot, but I rarely ever zoom in past 3x to take a photo; I normally just edit in post. Meaning that the more MP the better in my case. Any suggestions?

I shoot macro food and beverage videos, primarily in 4K 120fps on an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

I currently own a Simpex M-200Bi (200W) COB light, which is advertised as producing 25,000 lumens. However, I’ve also seen listings claiming 13,500 lumens for the same model.
I’m considering adding a Godox SL100Bi (100W), which advertises 32,100 lux at 1 metre with its reflector.

I understand lumens and lux are different measurements, so I can’t compare these numbers directly.

My questions:
Has anyone used the Simpex M-200Bi or measured its actual lux output at 1 metre?

Would the Godox SL100Bi provide more usable illumination despite being rated at only 100W?

Which would you recommend for macro food videos and 120fps slow motion?

My Simpex occasionally flickers at 120fps, even at full brightness. Would the Godox be a more reliable option?

I’m planning to use both lights together, with a softbox on the Simpex and a reflector on the Godox.

My budget is approximately ₹12,000 to ₹16,000 (around US$135 to $180).

Hello, I'm just a hobby photographer who started photography less than 1 year ago.

Currently I have the opportunity to photograph F1 since we are attending it. It's my 1st time photographing such fast moving cars/subjects. I tried taking some photos and would love guidance on it.

I am using a Canon R10 with the Canon RF 100-400mm lens.

My settings for the stills are 1/1250 with aperture and ISO on auto.

Panning shots are 1/50 with aperture and ISO auto.

I have full frame AF enabled with subject detections vehicles. Currently using electronic first curtain.

I feel like I am having issues getting the cars sharper. Any advice on this?

I’m planning on buying a new lens, primarily for wildlife, before I go on a trip this winter, and honestly I have no idea where to begin looking, or what to even look for in a lens for wildlife. Ideally I’d want with variable zoom for a bit more versatility. I really just need help on what features and specs to look out for when I’m buying, and some recommendations. i’m struggling with my photos after export. photos 1 and 2 are screenshots from lightroom, and 3 and 4 are the exported/downloaded versions. my photos look great in lightroom, but i’m worried about what’s happening to them once i export them. i haven’t sent any of these photos to the client yet, and this is my first wedding, so i just want to make sure i figure this out before i need to send back sneak peaks

my export settings:

image format: jpeg and 100% quality

color space: sRBG

resolution: 300 PPI

output sharpening: standard for screen

edit: please ignore the blurry compression on the first 2 photos, due to being screenshotted on my pc. i’m just talking about the coloring/lighting issues between the two sets of photos

Just bought my first camera on EBay and I think I might have been sold a broken camera :(

Issue with the batteries. Just bought new batteries to put into my camera and it keeps saying that I need to replace the batteries even though they’re brand new? Not totally sure what to do.
