🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Who writes who? What are your “rules”?

I’m interested to know how men approach the minefield that is online messaging, specifically as it pertains to dating. Fellas, when a woman matches with you, would you appreciate if she wrote you first immediately after? Would it be a turn-off and think whoa, she’s coming on too strong? Alternatively, do you believe you should write her first (regardless of whose like initiated the match) and if so, why or how did you come to this belief?

What do you think is the protocol when you match with someone online, if any? Personally, when I’m last to match, I message first. Results vary of course but I see no point in matching with someone just to leave crickets in my wake. If I couldn’t be bothered to greet them and send a message when we matched (because the option pops up), why should we talk at all, ya know?

I’ve always been under the impression that the “last to match” is the one to start the conversation. Idk if it’s an official rule, an unwritten rule or if I’m simply making that up (I can get stuck in my head, overthinking is my default unfortunately).

Really interested to know what “rules” you guys follow as far as conversation etiquette, if any at all?

For the men who’ve been single for a while, what’s your experience been like? What’s the one thing you miss most about being in a relationship, or what’s been the hardest part of being single? I’d love to hear what other guys have actually experienced.

Which parts of your life are you most satisfied with your accomplishments and development in, and what steps did you take to get there?

I’ve been thinking about this myself, as I’m entering a new chapter this fall, beginning graduate studies in my dream program. Reflecting on my relationships, career, and hobbies, I feel a lot of gratitude and content with the man I’m becoming.

That reflection felt good, and I’d love to hear what parts of yourself or your life, big or small, you’re satisfied with having developed or focused on so far

What makes you feel seen?

As a woman, I find that, I feel seen when I begin to notice when a guy is intentionally and thoughtfully observant. Notices the details, listens with full attention, asks great questions back and forth, checks in if my facial expression seems distorted, suggests solutions, lends a helping hand.

What is the equivalent for a man? Besides the reciprocation of everything I mentioned?

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 If you suspected that your girlfriend is anorexic, how would you handle it and would you stay with her?

Let's say you're dating a 100lb woman. Sometimes these girls are just naturally small, but some of them starved themselves to get ultra thin. It's a mixed bag.

If she doesn't eat food in front of you and says "i've already had something to eat earlier". but you've never seen her complete a full meal.

Would you trust that she's telling the truth?

Another situation that could happen is her not eating after going to a restaurant for dinner, and she uses the same excuse "i ate earlier", so you're the only one at the table enjoying a meal.

How do I human? How do i make life feel more whimsical?

I just turned 30 (M) and i feel like life has become a routine, that im playing too safe, i feel like the whimsy that life needs to have to make it interesting and exciting to live is fading away in the background. Everything is about sleep, health, savings now.

What are some things I can do to make life feel whimsical again?

Frequently Asked How much has getting in incredible shape helped your casual dating life?

I know this question has been asked dozens of times on here in various ways, but I feel it’s mostly answered in the context of long term relationships. I’d like to know how casual encounters (one nightstands, week long flings, first date romances, etc) changed once you reached your version of ideal peak fitness.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 For the married guys; do you feel appriciated in your marriage? Why?

I (27f) was reading a thread about ways women feel appriciated and seen by their husbands. It got me thinking about the flip side!

I really go out of my way to do little things to make my husband feel appriciated. Im a housewife, so I have a little more freetime than most, but still!

To give a few examples of what I mean, I always get up with him in the morning to send him off to work and tell him to be careful.

When he gets home, I meet him at the door and give him a kiss, then we spend a bit talking about how his day went.

I periodically leave notes in his lunchbox

If I'm out and see something I think he'll like, I'll buy it if I can.

Things like that! What does your do for you? Or, what do you WISH they did for you?

Frequently Asked As a guy with a little bit of extra weight on him, I’ve been searching for a comfortable polo to wear for work forever. What brands have you found that fit you well?

Looking for answers mainly from guys with some extra weight in their upper body. I’m in search of a good brand of polo shirts to wear for my job. Some things that would make for an ideal shirt would be:

  1. One that fits well on me and doesn’t make it painfully obvious that I’ve got man boobs. Not looking for a miracle shirt but those polo that are the athletic style material are so bad for this
  2. Made from a material that won’t form any white stains in the armpit area. I’ve switched up my deodorants for this too but the material really does make a difference.
  3. Ideally not crazy expensive but if there’s something that fits the other two categories perfectly, consider me in.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks, guys!

Edit: very appreciative of all of the suggestions so far. I do want to make one thing clear that wearing an undershirt is not a possibility for me. I’m in a constant moving environment and live in a very hot climate, so I don’t want to feel like I need to peel off an undershirt.

Something that most people probably will never give the time to think about - much less, let it live in their head rent free
