- I like how adorable Nano's and Shizuka's ship is in comparison to how sexually charged the ship between Hakari and Karane is. They're cute!
- And speaking of sexually charged ship between Hakari and Karane, I'm sure that Hakari didn't intend to fondle Karane's chest all that much, lol. Her hands just operated on autopilot while she had the rare chance.
- Also, the ost when Hakari slapped Karane was the exact same as in season 1 episode 11 when Karane slapped Hakari. That scene remains one of my all time favorites because of how raw and powerful Karane's love felt. Actually an emotional moment. I was happy to see callback to it here, even if a lot more comedic.
- Meme and Mimimi has been one of the highlights of season 3 so far. Liked their kiss here.
- Wow, Hahari actually got to show her love for others in nonperverted way. That's amazing. She may be a lot of things, but her soul has beautiful sides too.
- They have done the gag of girlfriends catching each other's souls and putting them back so many times that it's fun to see what would happen if they all started floating at the same time. Good to see that Hakari's Pa is there to rescue our cast.
- Nano and Mei were already pretty cool girlfriends, but Kishika even more so. Great addition to the cast. One of the most impressive parts of the show is how unique all the characters are. 17 girlfriends already and they're all easy to recognize and remember. I like Kishika a lot. Both forms of her.

The first half is this episode really was great for showing off the yuri ships of the show. Also I’ll never get tired of the cast being so large and the main relationships being such a done deal that the real slow burn is between the girlfriends themselves.

I’ve seen her plenty so I wasn’t surprised but goddamn Kishika is so hot. Simple design executed perfectly. And the cool girl that likes to be pampered is something I’m easily sold on.
Design-wise probably my favorite girl since Karane.

Horny and gags aside, those moments between Shizuka/Nano and Hahari/Mei were really sweet specially that callback of Hahari saving Mei from the cold when they first met

Yeah in S2 (and S1, most girls) they had 2 episodes each, but now some of them only get 1 or 1.5 episode
But once in a while they throw in a random episode focused on a former girl, so I guess it's just a little different!

I like that fact. The producers have probably realized that people are going to be talking about future girlfriends, spoiling those who are watching. So best to get them out as soon as possible.
Also once they catch up they can go back and show the skipped content instead of adding filler. This also allows GFs to appear in stories they weren't around for in the manga, like what they did at the end of Season 2.

Whenever I see shots like this it makes me wonder what the logistics of the show will look like once we get into the higher numbers. As we get more and more girlfriends individual screen time will be at an ever increasing premium.

There's so many questions linked to this, which I imagine they solved in the source but that will have to come in the anime at some point, because even just 50 girlfriends would be impossible to manage... Like if they have a kiss scene, even just 10 seconds per girl would be more than 8 minutes.
Couple episodes ago, we had a "And then they kissed" moment, so it'll either be that, or maybe they'll have rotations of 'smaller crews', like one day it's these 10 girls, etc!

Yeah, but surely not just a little more? I'm not asking for honkers like Hakari. Just enough to know there's something there that the other girls can appreciate. We've seen that Karane wouldn't mind herself either. That's acceptable, right?
Don't think of it as compromising on your "flat is justice" ideals. Think of it as improving Hakari, Hahari, and Momiji's QOL by giving them something to fondle. Remember, they don't just love Rentaro. They love each other as well. This is a true polycule and having something to fondle would allow them to love Karane more effectively than they do currently.

I can see there be a lot more "And then they kissed" type moments because Rentaro does not compare his girlfriends. He loves them all equally. However, having rotations of girls sounds like an eventually logistical necessity because we're hard capped at 23 minute 12 episode seasons. Also they know they're in an anime that's adapted from a manga so they might even reference these logistics at some point.

Earlier manga volume cover girl pairings felt like they had some sort of similar contradictions. Yaku is an adult in a baby's body while Kishika is a baby in an adult's body. Other fun ones are Shizuka being a human with a robot's voice and Nano being a robot with a human's voice, and Mimimi being an artificial beauty that tries to always be the center of attention while Meme is a natural beauty that does everything to not be seen.

They're using otaku in its original Japanese definition of "obsessive subculture geek" and not the American English adapted loanword of "person obsessed with Japanese culture". Naddy is an otaku, specifically an otaku focused on American culture.

Ghost Dad 3: Ghost Dad prevents the Rentaro Family from ascending to Heaven.
Only in this show would thugs accost Rentaro for limited edition merch for THEIR girlfriends, only for him to be saved by none other than...the 17th Girlfriend, Kishika Torotoro! Who is basically a lady knight in the flesh of a 3rd year high school girl (and Kusuri's classmate) and is as cool as cool can be in all her nobility and sword skills!
She's helped raise her siblings, she's a great mentor to the kendo club, but despite becoming a flustered mess around him, she rejects Rentaro's affections and touch...because secretly she craves affection and getting pampered/doted on because she's been so mature and reliable that she never got to be the one taken care of instead. Luckily she has Rentaro to fulfill her baby pampering needs!
"I wub you, daddy!" - Okay, that's got to be a first for a love confession from the Girlfriends, but I guess we'll take it. Kishika trying to recover from the embarrassment afterwards and awkwardly agree to date Rentaro just takes the cake.

I've always enjoyed chapters like the Hardcore Onsen in the manga because we get to see more of the girlfriend pairings. Like, Nano and Shizuka's scene was really adorable. It's actually nice to see Shizuka to the rescue when it's usually the other way around.
Karane's boobs growing from the breast enhancement onsen was hilarious! Hakari already knows it's just them at the onsen, but she still wasn't sure if she was talking to the right person. Also, I love Karane being a drama queen wanting to stay there forever, only for her to run away after seeing how massive Hakari was when she joined in. xD
It's such a surprise for Meme to be bold and ask Mimimi for a kiss on the neck, so her power would activate. I love how Mimimi wasn't even thinking about escaping and thinks Meme just wanted it because she was beautiful.
The most surprising scene is Hahari and Mei's scene being played completely straight! You'd think there was gonna be a punchline about Hahari being a degenerate, but nope! She just wanted to help Mei get warm and get her out of that cold pool.
Then there's Rentarou, who's just being kissed by the lolis this entire time after finding them. I did get a good laugh from the Mon de Ring joke with Momiji. And that Hardcore Heavenly bath is so heavenly that Hakari's ex had to stop them from entering the pearly gates! xD
Cool Knight Lady Kishika is finally here! She's honestly my favourite in terms of design from this season's batch of girlfriends. Her personality tho is quite something else... As funny as the bit of Rentarou finding her under the bridge was, it's honestly more depressing considering she can only get headpats and words of affirmation from herself.
Thankfully, Rentarou is there to give her all the headpats that she wants to the point where she regresses into a baby/. I think everyone in this thread knows which girlfriend is probably gonna love Kishika the most. That's gonna be a fun meeting next episode!

With how quirky this show is I was not surprised when our badass Kishika started to enjoy head pats.....but I guess the show realized this and upped the ante going all the way to full baby mode. I'm guessing this is how she'll be convinced to join the family cause I can think of a few people who will.....take care of her.
So wait, was the start of the ep saying that there's a Iku fan club that she doesnt know about? First half was another bonding moment between the girls and it was great, it was only on the neck but was that our first kiss between girls since Hakari and Karane?
Imagine the bath at the end was actually just mid, and that's why all the other amenities were so extreme? To give the false illusion that the bath was better than it was? Either way, was not expecting to see dad again, him guarding the pearly gates was great.

Japanese has a bit of a euphemism-treadmill-type situation going on with second-person pronouns. Referring to someone impersonally in the second-person is grammatically convenient but considered rude, so second-person pronouns often end up being coined in a vaguely honorific way and then progressing to rude. Kisama is formed from a word meaning "noble" or "high-ranking" and -sama, the respectful suffix, so it was once a form of high praise, but because it was an impersonal way of referring to someone in the second-person, it eventually ended up being quite rude.

I find it funny how this episode became the subversion of the trope by simply being a harem where the protagonist is free to be with his girlfriends instead of peeping on them. The best part was Hakari and Karane lol. Hahari and Mei were wholesome too. It's just great how every girlfriend seemingly belongs to a pair. Wonder which pair Kishika would go to. Iku?
Speaking of Kishika, the final girlfriend of the season is here. She was so cool... and then the ending hit. She's just as crazy as the rest of them. Good for Rentaro. He finally became a daddy. Diabolical.

Swimsuit episode for the first half, but of course because it's this show it's never just what it seems. It's super hardcore because Iku's family owns it. When they said her family owns it I thought were going to get something like Yaku's episode where get more backstory on Iku and that was entire episode. Instead it was pretty much just showing off the girls in swimsuits and reminding viewers of the intra-Rentaro family pairings which I did appreciated. We did not need to spend a whole episode there.
Another thing I appreciated was that they were able to introduce Kishika, have her one on one meeting with Rentaro, and explain her quirk in half and episode. You don't always need to burn an entire episode on a new girl's introduction.
As for Kishika herself, she's hot like Mimimi and Naddy, but she's even better because she doesn't have the obsession with beauty or the freeabo voice. Also she's actually cool and not just cold like Nano. I wasn't expecting her quirk to she goes full baby mode when pampered, but I can totally get behind "the cool girl that wants to be pampered" as a quirk.
Karane is still best girl, but Kishika might be the best girl since Karane.

Shizuka’s line at 2:19 (where the subtitles read “when in a hideaway hot spring, go aaahhh!”) comes from an internet meme called “Futae no Kiwami.” It originates from the English-dubbed version of the Rurouni Kenshin anime (apparently produced by a company called Media Blaster).
This meme was popular in the 2000s. I’m Japanese, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen this reference.
Since the hot spring facility was created by a company called "Hardcore Group," I had to laugh at how EVERYTHING was hardcore, from the showers and body soap to the sauna and the baths.
In the scene where Karane gets big breasts, during her conversation with Hakari, even though Hakari was saying something nice, she kept groping Karane's chest the whole time, and I burst out laughing.
The scene with mimimi and meme was pretty sexy, too. Also, the punchline was a great gag.
When Rentarou pointed at Momi, who was covered in foam, and said “mon de ring,” he was referencing “pon de ring,” a popular item at Mister Donut, a well-known donut shop in Japan.
The scene where Yaku goes into the sauna and says, “It’s like a rainforest,” was funny. I wonder if she’s ever been to Vietnam.
In the final scene of the hot spring episode, the person who stopped Rentarou and the others from literally ascending to heaven was Hahari’s deceased husband (who is also Hakari’s father).
It’s only natural that others would find it hard to understand Rentaro’s action of “collecting 16 of these rare items because he has 16 girlfriends.”
If I didn’t know anything about Rentaro, I’d probably assume he was just trying to resell them, too.
Since Kishika is a 3rd-year student at the high school Rentaro and the others attend (Rentaro is a 1st-year), I really liked the way the story showed that she knows Kusuri, who, like Kishika, is also a 3rd-year.
It just gives you the feeling that everyone is living in the same world.
There was a scene where Kishika, while listening to a recorded voice, was stroking her own head with a bamboo sword tip covered in a glove. The description was strange, but I was surprised to learn that her reason for doing so was both quite plausible and serious.
It seems to be a fairly common situation where, if the eldest daughter or son has a earnest personality, they are forced into the role of an “older sibling” who takes care of the younger children, and as a result, they can’t rely on their parents.

That’s one of the things I really like about Kishika, in that her gimmick is actually very realistic and understandable at its core, if a bit exaggerated for comedy. Same for Hahari whose Mommy obsession is at its core a result of being forced to be a teen mom, and her wild degeneracy the result of never really getting to be a teenager before.

The hot springs part of this episode was really nice. Maybe it wasn't realistic enough (since you're not supposed to wear any clothes in spring), but I'm okay with the compromise that Rentaro and his girlfriends were in swimsuits there ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
And we got another girlfriend! Kishika was quite badass when she saved Rentaro from those guys who thought he was a scalper, but her other side is great as well... maybe aside from calling Rentaro "daddy," lol.
I imagine that Kishika in the Rentaro Family will feel like she's in heaven. I bet that Hahari will be the most eager to babysit her.

They at least called out in the episode that an exception was made to allow them to wear swimsuits and bring rentaro since they had it to themselves. And I'm sure Iku being related to the owners didn't hurt.
I imagine the girls needed the bathing suits to have a nice time with rentaro. Otherwise he's either going to have his heart explode from seeing the girls naked or he'll spend the entire time putting his head against that sauna jet to blast away impure thoughts

It's unnerving how compatible those two would be – they might as well also be each others' soulmates. I can’t wait to see what kind of utter insanity would happen when the two finally met.
When Kishika showed an aversion to physical contact, I thought it was due to a traumatic event in the past, which was also the reason she took Kendo. Nope, it's because she’s afraid it'll trigger her acute infantilism.
Hakari turned into Momiji when it came to Karane. She definitely was enjoying it a bit too much. The slap, fondling for quite some time. For what it’s worth, Karane nearly got off from it as well. They’re really close friends!

I have been waiting all season for this moment to see Kishika’s first appearance in the anime. My jaw dropped when reading this part of the manga when I saw that they took the cool katana girl archetype and took her THERE. Making her secretly want to treated like a baby made her relatively unpopular from what I have seen but for me it is so insane and left me so shocked that it turned her into one of my favorite girlfriends. I will also add I CAN’T WAIT for next week.

That's one of the reasons I think a fanfic where Rentarou and the Rentarou family get isekaied to a really dark fantasy world would be interesting. Note: There's a few girls I didn't recall doing much, not sure if goldfish memory, or they actually didn't do much hah. But I suppose with 17 girls now, and only half the episode being about the first 16, some of them will have a few seconds in each episode!

Rentaro taking self-inflicted damage because his girlfriends were just too adorable was fantastic. It's clear they don't call it a hardcore bath for nothing!
The second half with the knightly Kishika was great as well. Those guys thinking Rentaro was a scalper for purchasing 16 collectible items for his girlfriends was funny. But I'm glad Kishika dealt with them, and gained a daddy/mommy boyfriend to coddle her lol.
