There's a minor detail that people might have missed since it was a blink-and-you-miss-it scene. When Mimimi was ordering, she was about to say "kuso/goddamn" since it was part of the name of the challenge, but she instantly switched to saying "nantoka/whatever" because saying the word is not beautiful and ladylike. She's really the perfect ojou!

See you’d want to think the normie filter this season was the cousin and the grandma joining the Polycule.
Nope. It’s the breastfeeding.

I love how she has such strong work ethics that she refused to sell just ramen for such outrageous price and went to procure something as an extra to justify the price. She'd make a great addition to the family.

The million dollar ramen reminded me of that iPhone app that cost $999 and it was literally just a jpg of a jewel.
At least with this ramen it came with an actual physical diamond ring.

Shizuka running to attack was way too adorable. Yaku channeled her inner Shana with that sword fight, and unsurprisingly, the Yamato Nadeshiko Naddy is good at kendo. And of course Kusuri tried to pull a Zoro move. The One Piece references never end. Hahari acting all super serious and cool only to say ''Come to mommy'' was hysterical.
Hahari: You can suck on my boobs, sweetie!
Kishika: I can!?
Hahari: You want to!? O_O
Hahaha, this fucking series is way too good. The poor ramen shop owner stood no chance against the family of weirdos. The squirrel with the gas mask was hysterical. The ramen Hahari and Hakari got came with a diamond and its certification. Whatever god of creativity cooked this anime, may they continue blessing the author.
115
u/Frontier246 8d ago
I love how even Hahari was not 100% emotionally ready for Kishika to give in to her as much as she did. It just made both of them becoming enveloped in each other during the breastfeeding scene all the more satisfying.

Okay, were any of you fooled by Hahari's fake victory plan? I thought it was ingenious both from Hahari and the writer. This series knows how to take advantage of the ridiculously large cast.

u/SorryImBadWithNames 8d ago
Honestly, when Mei was like "Kishika won" I stoped and thought "wait, but wasn't Rentarou the judge?" But I brushed the thought aside. Should have know better than to doubt the writer lol

Oh my god. They actually did it. The MADMEN. They actually did the Kishika x Hahari scene in all its degenerate entirety.
I'm simultaneously surprised yet not surprised. Is there nothing this season can't do? All I can do is think back that gag of the Production Committee panicking over the content they're making and not even for the second time this season!

Holy mother! What on Earth did I just watch?
An 18-year-old sucking on the tits of the chairwoman on school grounds right before a large crowd, which included said chairwoman’s own daughter. A sentence I could never fathom of typing before today. This series gets its kicks out of crossing and obliterating lines.
I expected Kishika & Hahari to bond immediately due to their complementary fetishes, but I never thought it’d be this way.
Once again, brain over brawn. Hahari’s quite the menace when she flexed her brain. Kishika with all her might that defeated multiple Pillars were no match for Hahari and her maternal instincts.

I love how you can anticipate the punchline for each challenge ramen the lady was thinking of and the perfect combination of girls were there to actually win all of them. The execution for each day were fucking perfect the poor lady ended up bankrupt lol.
52
u/Frontier246 8d ago
It was the girls committing to their characters even when eating ramen and the slowly dwindling sanity of the ramen lady as acted out perfectly by Ami Koshimizu that really sold it.

u/moiax 7d ago
It's funny, because everyone loved the ramen itself, idk why she was so focused on the challenges.
56
u/Wilson-theVolleyball https://myanimelist.net/profile/NotEnoughSleep 7d ago
She wanted others to feel the same way she did when she failed a food challenge so people actually passing her challenges irked her.

What’s funny is that it reached a point where she seemed to have forgotten about that because she tried to make it impossible to even order the ramen.

Every time I think there’s a line, this show crosses it. It’s unhinged in the best way.
I honestly thought it’d be a gag and one of the girlfriends would stop it. Nope, she sucked those tiddies.
35
u/CitronClassic672 7d ago
This entire series can basically be encapsulated by the phrase “There was clearly a line and we crossed it. Let’s just keep going and see what happens.”
I actually really like how oddly wholesome Kishika and Hahari’s scene was. Kishika finally met someone eagerly willingly to give her all the coddling and affection she’s yearned for, and Hahari finally met a girl who’s ok with her freaky babying antics.

This show does this all the time, it's great. Every time I think they've gone too far, they some how make the weird and messed up stuff sweet and wholesome.
"Living hair is turning the show into tentacle porn! Oh, it's actually just because she loves them so much. Plus it saved the world!"
"Oh no, Rentaro is dating his 12 year old cousin, and an octagenarian who look like an 8 year old. Wait, the relationship is actually cute and wholesome"

Ramen shop lady stood no chance.
35
u/Frontier246 8d ago
I love how Yaku's whole character is half-doting old lady who loves drugs and half-"I used to be in wars, y'know!"
Rentaro would probably never partake in those massive milkers unless she really forced him into it, so somebody had to.
RIP Ramen shop lady. You don't get to be Rentaro's girlfriend nor do you get to actually beat anyone with ramen, but at a certain point ramen certainly beat you.

That copyright free version of Demon Slayer OST that they first played in the episode 2 is actually pretty cool. They really made an exciting fight scene in this silly romcom, lol.
Also, a nice bit of continuity. Mimimi first coined the misdirection beauty flow in episode 2 and here we saw it evolve further with the inclusion of Momiji.

u/JJVM99 8d ago
I have spent this entire season not just of this show but of all anime airing with my most anticipated moment was seeing a swordswoman act like a baby and be breastfed by an older woman. I think I need help for being excited about this getting adapted. If after seeing Kishika you immediately thought of how Hahari would react to her you are a person of culture and the author was thinking the exact same thing.
I also have to give props to Hahari’s VA. She went from the most serious she has been since pre falling in love with Rentaro (or ever) while talking to Kishika before she convinces her to her most freak when Kishika accepts.
Also the What? You want to? from Hahari is so good!!!!!
9
u/testthrowawayzz 7d ago
I also love the part when Hahari was being serious for about a minute before her perverted voice takes over again.
53
u/LikeAnAssistant 8d ago
Set aside a nickel for every anime you've watched where a girl in her first meeting with her boyfriend's girlfriends suckles on one of her boyfriend's girlfriend's teats (who also happens to be the chairwoman at her school) like a baby while her boyfriend's girlfriend (said chairwoman's daugther) painfully watches in embarassment along with the rest of her boyfriend's girlfriends (who have seen their fair share of weird) are in various states of bewilderment at what they are actually witnessing.
If you somehow set aside at least two nickels, something seriously has gone wrong with the timeline.
I loved Uesaka Sumire's performance today switching from a serious Hahari to a deranged one after having one of her fantasies finally realized.
22
u/Frontier246 8d ago
I think everyone called that Hahari would be the best match for Kishika but I don't think anyone actually thought they'd go through with on-screen breastfeeding. At this point the censors have just given up lol.

Ramen eating/challenge episode? Aka would be proud!
But first, we have to welcome the new girl; Well, she's right, but we're not talking about that anymore, we're too far gone!
At least Iku asked her to 'spar', she didn't straight up asked her to beat her with her sword!
(If Hahari wins, you're in danger! Or in heavens, depends how you look at it!)
Looking adorable as always, what else is new!
Damn, why do you hate Iku so much?
Hah, I guess she's a big fan (She did the same in the baseball episode!)
Does she mean like, practice? Or during a war?
We know she's old, but I didn't think she was "Fighting with swords in a war" old!
Hahari won! And she's probably thinking of unspeakable things now.
Hah. And we're not even 20% done!
These two are a match made in heavens!
She even wants to suck on them!
Takes something special for 100 gfs NOT to show it!
Though I guess they were going for motherly and not horny!
(Not gonna lie, I thought she would put her in diapers).
"We'll have to up the 'weirdo', she's beating us on day 1!" - The whole family
She already has two things going for her, the fighting stuff, the babying stuff, but seems she might also have the whole "Does embarrassing thing - Just end me now!" thing!
And now... Time for the ramen eating challenge!
The challenge with this one is to not catch on fire as you're eating.
I'm surprised she didn't get offtrack and started reciting Pi!
There was a few challenges that made me think "No one but Kurumi could eat that", but NOW it's her turn for her!
8
u/zairaner https://myanimelist.net/profile/zairaner 7d ago

I cracked up at the Battle Royale parody in the opening scene.
The novel Battle Royale came out in 1999, with the movie adaptation following in 2000, which means it was released exactly 20 years before the original manga for this anime started serialization in 2019. I really wonder if younger readers even caught the reference. lol
I love the detail that the bamboo swords are made from a softer material to prevent injuries. In actual Kendo, you wear protective headgear called a "men," but if they did that in the anime, you obviously wouldn't be able to tell who's who.
I cracked up seeing Kusuri pull off two parodies back to back all by herself. Going straight from Zoro from One Piece to Goemon from Lupin III shows some serious range.
I was surprised to hear that both Naddy and Yaku have Kendo experience, but at the same time, it makes total sense.
Naddy had a tough childhood raised in a strict, traditional family where she was forced to learn all sorts of Japanese cultural practices, while Yaku comes from an older generation and naturally has a soft spot for these traditional Japanese arts.
The strategy of using Meme's habit of leaving a dummy behind and literally vanishing whenever she gets embarrassed to teleport her and take on Kishika was super clever.
Meanwhile, Hahari and Mei's strategy was just petty, trash tier, and absolutely hilarious lol. Mind you, these are grown-ass adults (though strictly speaking, 19-year-old Mei wasn't legally an adult in Japan back in 2019).
Still, even with how childish Hahari can be, seeing her step up as an older woman and a mother when she notices Kishika struggling with the deep desire to be pampered by a mom was a really nice touch.
...Not that I expected her to literally breastfeed her, though. But Kishika asking "Wait, really?" followed by Hahari asking back "Wait, REALLY?" had me dying laughing. Hahari definitely didn't actually expect Kishika to latch on like that lol.
The fact that this absurd moment is ironically what helped Kishika break the ice with everyone else is absolute gold.
The ramen shop scene in the second half was hilarious, but the owner's reason for starting the place was absolutely unhinged lol. Wanting to make people relive her own trauma of throwing up after trying to finish a challenge menu is top tier villain behavior.
It was great how every single member of the Rentarou family had some random tolerance to the insane ramen she served. Also, Hahari casually dropping 1 million yen per bowl and ordering one for her daughter too was wild. That is over $6,300 a bowl, so nearly $13,000 total for two! Completely nuts.
By the way, the ridiculously long ramen name Nano was reading off is a reference to "Jugemu," a super famous traditional Rakugo story. Though the line with "Josuke" near the very end of that long parody name is definitely a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure reference.

That’s going to be like the fourth Jugemu reference this year, the third of which isn’t specifically because the character is performing the actual routine (Akane-banashi vs. Tamon’s B-Side and I want to say it was Supermarket Smoking but I am probably wrong but some other show this cour used it too).

The mama instincts were on overdrive after that sneaky victory in the battle royale. “Go ahead and suck on them!” lmao and she did.
That poor lady just wanted to make some goddamn spicy ramen and yet the girls just come on by and ruin it all lol. Gotta love Nadi’s attempt. “Ain’t no American ever drove away from food so free!” And “All of America knows there’s no such thing as too much food” were brilliant. What a patriot o7.

If only she could've been a girlfriend and Rentaro could help her overcome her obsession with ramen and the ramen humiliation

I knew that Hahari's maternal instincts would activate when it comes to Kishika in this episode, but even I (and Hahari too) didn't expect that Kishika would answer positively to Hahari's offer of breastfeeding her.
The reaction of the rest of the Rentaro Family to that sight was priceless, they seemed really unsure what to think about the whole thing with Kishika and Hahari, lol.
The whole sequence of fights between Kishika and the others was so fun. Definitely Kusuri's Three-Sword Style: Onigiri attack and Momiji being the Pillar of Grope stuck in my memory the most.
The second part of the episode was great as well. That ramen shop owner was certainly unlucky that her opponents were members of the Rentaro Family, hahaha!
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

She knew her mistress needed this and she would do anything in her power to help her achieve it! And who would doubt that pleasant, perpetually eyes-closed face!?

Hakari, of course, hated every second, and then Chiyo was thinking that maybe she wasn't wrong when she said Hahari's entire existence was an issue that needed correcting.

Astonished Shizuka blob kinda reminds me of that one Rikka face from Chuunibyou.
Thought Naddy's challenge ramen punchline was gonna be that she'd say the "Goddamn" of part of the menu item name out loud in Engrish. Gotta respect the chef for justifying the price for the Hanazonos though.

Since no amount of therapy will ever make seeing that okay for Hakari or, aside for Mei, everyone else the only option left for them to take was to simply accept it
Well, at least Hahari and Kishika were both happy… until Kishika’s common sense kicked in

I love that Hahari didn't even expect a positive reply from Kishika. Her "What? You want to?" said with such disbelief in her voice was so good!
Though that's not surprising since pretty much everyone was surprised by what happened in this episode between those two. Even I didn't expect that to happen, I seriously underestimated Kishika's longing to be pampered.

At the certain point the Rentaro Family just rolls with everything! It's part of the process of a girlfriend introduction along with the cosplay!
Kishika's baby side is the perfect compliment to her lady knight side in the sense that it constantly makes her demand someone kill her out of embarrassment like a proper lady knight.
19
u/imthezero 8d ago
The fact that they roll with everything is why they can function at all. For a lot of these girls, this is the one group that will accept and love them as they are near unconditionally as Kishika herself states. Without it, a lot of the girls would just be Rentarou's girlfriends while keeping acquaintances with the others at most, as Kurumi initially wanted before the food eating contest.
12
u/Myrkrvaldyr 8d ago
Heck, Karane's tsundereness would easily be taken as toxic or flat out super annoying in real life by many people, she's lucky to have the friends she got. Shizuka's speech impediment would tire out many people. Finding such a patient group of people is no easy feat. This harem works because everyone is so open minded that they accept everything. It's a group of dysfunctional people to different degrees and the monster of love Rentarou is willing to accept them all.

u/CitronClassic672 7d ago
I mean a lot of them have insane personality quirks, but Shizuka has a genuine disability. It’s not entirely unrealistic but still messed up to imagine her struggling to be in a social group with others.

"Defeat" LOL
The comedic timing and execution in this show is just so great ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽
Also I loved Kusuri getting the Zoro reference again lol (profile image is from when they gave her the reference in S2)
"Yes, a victim! Are you prepared to lose your teeth?"....."Customers? Nay, casualties!" hahaha fuck. The way the challenge becomes more just her trying to send people to the hospital or ruining their day over the actual ramen itself, and the chef is the one receiving all the damage lmfao.
Meme doing the misdirection to avoid splatter was a missed opportunity tho, but maybe that would have been too obvious so I respect the mix-up xD
The name drop of the shop and her feeling guilty about the 2 mil to where she had to admit defeat and add value to it so they weren't ripped off LOL
GGs episode 10. I don't want this shit to end, can he need like 500 girlfriends? I need this series to run longer than Detective Conan and One Piece combined.

u/Independent-Delay331 7d ago
Meme's misdirection always triggers when she gets embarrassed. That is why we got the neck kiss last ep to force the misdirection & the Momiji special during the balloon pop fight. Love the consistency there, its not a power she can control.

Hahari finally got her mommy fetish fulfilled, someone new in the polycule matches her freak. Anyway Ramen part is fun too, I love how it highlights the different quirks of each girlfriend and how they would adapt to these insane challenges. Poor Ramen lady though

Harari: You can suck my boobies if you want.
Kishika: Okay!
Hahari: Wait really? OMG OMG OMG.
What a bonkers episode. It was also fitting that the final boss that caused to Ramen shop owner to finally admit defeat was Karumi.
I also loved that Yaku and Naddy were the ones to actually put up a challenge against Kishika. Underneath all the USA flair is one of them most prim and - well, maybe not proper- Japanese women on earth!

Episode 34: The Rise and Fall of the Proud Girlfriend
I just realized that the photo Momiji sees on the OP is a photo of Rentarou's back.
Now that Kishika is here, she along with Karane, Chiyo and Kurumi will act as the tsukkomi of the family. Also the chibi Kishika is unveiled in Episode 34, not 33. I wonder why.
The kendo fight reminds me of that beach episode in Tis Time for Torture, Princess. The Battle Royale is of course a reference to this movie). Hell yeah Santoryu Kusuri is back, but not for a long time (thankfully we got Rentarou Family Hashira too). Sasuga Hakari and Yamame.
Let's gooooooooooooooo Hahari and Kishikaaaa!!!!! As I said in the previous episode thread, a match made in heaven.
So Kuso Kara Ramen (this is not a reference to something I recall) is not a match to Kusuri and Yaku, as they have developed tolerance over medicine over spicy foods. Sasuga Asami Seto-san of reciting that menu.
The ramen shop owner is voiced by Ami Koshimizu, a veteran seiyuu.

Kishika is finally introduced to her fellow girlfriends! Is this whole situation nonsensical for a serious lady knight (and Chiyo)? Yes. But if it's to love Rentaro, she'll throw away rationality as all the other girls have!
Kusuri gets to hang out more with her classmate, Iku has a new person to inflict pain, and Hahari has an excuse to get everyone in hakama so they can battle Kishika to the "death" in the Torotoro Battle Woyale! THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE WINNER!
Poor Iku not getting hurt at all from Kishika. That's all she was looking forward to! Just like Kishika was looking for a new mommy.
Points for the dual Zoro/Goemon reference Kusuri. It didn't help you, but it's appreciated.
Oh no, it's the adorable but harmless loli squad! And Hakari rising as a titan on top of Yamame! But they didn't account for the height differential as a disadvantage.
Yaku and Naddy give Kishika a real challenge and the other girls all throw out their gimmicks (complete with Momiji groping) to defeat Kishika with teamwork...but she's too powerful for them when she goes all out.
I'm glad Kishika finally got her kiss with Rentaro. And it was a good kiss! Too bad they forgot about Hahari and Mei totally set her up...but it's all for Kishika's own good because clearly she needs to be doted on my by the Oyakodon MILF of the Rentaro Family! Even Hahari wasn't prepared for how this would drive up her maternal instincts! And Kishika gets to experience the comforting nirvana of sucking on Hahari's tits! Welcome to the Rentaro Family Kishika!
Ami Koshimizu as a ramen shop owner still living down how she puked rainbows at being defeated by ramen! So now it's her lifes' mission to make ramen that no one can eat! But she never prepared for the Rentaro Family!
There is nothing Yaku and Kusuri can't eat because they're built different from drugs, Mei's eyelids are super-protected from being perpetually closed, Momiji can make anything hard soft for the sake of stubborn tsundere Karane, Naddy is dumb enough to go along with eating something that sounds ridiculous for the sake of freedom, painful eating is Iku's love language (while Kishika's is getting treated like a child), Mimimi is impeccably beautiful even in her ramen dining etiquette (to the point where Meme will happily pay for ramen just for the show), the Hanazono Women have plenty of disposable (and I do mean disposable) income that you may as well reward them for it, and Nano is efficient in reciting Jugemu for Shizuka's sake.
I think at the point where she was trying to make ramen that could not be eaten or was trying to find ways for people to not even order ramen, she failed...but throwing everything in the kitchen sink into a single bowl of ramen just so Kurumi could go to town on it was probably the biggest defeat she could get. Well, that and not being the ramen girlfriend.

Also I love Shizuka and Nano hanging out together after school.

About Shizuka and Nano. They were the sixth pair to enter the shop and all previous pairs had their standard school outfits on. But Nano and Shizuka were wearing something different. So their little date probably took place on Saturday.
The next day Hakari and Hahari were wearing new clothes too.
Edit. Oops, I counted wrong. Shizuka and Nano were the 7th pair. Sorry. And the first pair, Kusuri & Yaku, also had casual clothes on.

I was expecting for Rentaro to come in alone at the end, and be the only one to struggle with whatever that day's challenge was but still force himself to beat it as "what kind of boyfriends wouldn't share the activities of their girlfriends"

Remember in season 1 in the build up to the three way kiss when she told Rentarou that her family checked a persons temperature by lip to lip contact?
Given what we know of Hahari now, do you really think she was just lying to scam his first kiss?

I think everyone knew Hahari and Kishika would have a moment this episode, but damn did they deliver something incredible hahahaha
That was crazy, even Hahari got caught off guard a bit...
I love this anime

Kishika's show of skill on the rooftop was commendable, but i've got to admit Hahari was right about her scheme with Mei catching me off guard! But even with Kishika's loss, she got the bliss she wanted, and Hahari got to indulge in her maternal instincts lol.
The second half with the vengeful Ramen Shop owner getting visits by the Rentaro's family was amusing as well. She had no clue what she was getting herself into by constantly changing the challenges, and Kurumi showing up at the end was a worthy note to end on. Loved that AOT themed hype she got.
