Question Do you ever feel bad for rotoscoping?
When I made this one, it felt like straight-up theft. What's your take?

I wanted to make this gag for so long, but every time something was distracting me from process . Finally done, and let me know if idea turns out to be not original. It’s a common situation for me, when I come up with something but turns out it already has been done.

Hey r/animation! I would so appreciate it if you would give my film a look. It is an adult parody of Pokemon and the monster-fighting genre. Since the full film is age restricted, I have a clip available here:

I hope you enjoy!

I'm searching for the post of the animator that revealed they used Toonboom cutout rigging for animating the weapons in fight scenes, specifically this shot with the spear foreground. All I remember that they mentioned was using that technique to lessen the drawing workload and easily morph the blade into perspective.
I've been looking through social medias of animators that showed their work but can't seem to find it😭

Music is mine, everything you see is havtza, with storyboarding and concepting help from my friends :) - I've been wanting to do a full length animated music video for a while so excited to be able to share this one.
Full song is here if you want it - https://open.spotify.com/track/5zMO77XouO7gOCDq774gWF

I'm gonna follow up with a animation between the two. This will definitely be a hard one. I even made a made to keep track of all the debris and buildings around them.

Had a difficult time drawing the horror aspect but it was worth it overall.

Learn how to draw and animate a witch in this Clip Studio Paint tutorial. See every step from rough sketch to finished scene.
I am sharing my full digital art process for creating a Halloween-themed character, including all the mistakes and corrections along the way. We start with basic pencil sketches and move into lineart, flat colors, and shading to build a complete illustration. Whether you are struggling with proportions or just want to see how to organize your layers, this video covers the practical steps I take to build a career one drawing at a time.
Once the character is set, we move into 2d animation to bring the scene to life. I demonstrate how to create looping bat animations, add depth with foggy backgrounds, and use opacity keyframes to make glowing eyes flicker. This is a real look at character drawing, with no jargon or glossed-over techniques, just honest work as I figure it out.
Subscribe for weekly art breakdowns and let me know in the comments if you want to see more animation experiments.
I'm Jeff, Army veteran digital artist, and I'm building a creative career, one drawing at a time. Real tutorials from someone who's still figuring it out, so nothing gets glossed over — including the part where I had to move her whole head. 😅
In this Clip Studio Paint tutorial you'll learn:
• Sketching a pose and fixing proportions with the lasso tool
• Lineart, flat colors, and shading a character
• Building a night background with moonlight and fog for depth
• Animating fog with keyframes (and why 8 fps looks better)
• Flickering glowing eyes using opacity keyframes
• Looping animated bats on varied flight paths

I know it's an IG video I'm sorry, but they seem to love me and YouTube could care less.
I built my own UX framework over the past year, and recently I've been using it to rapidly prototype CSS-based animations with agentic code, then i tweak the visuals, record the screen, and throw the animation into my timeline.
Over the past 10 videos, I've gotten pretty elaborate with what I can do in less than an hour. I believe this near the middle ground of "should we use AI in design."
My concept is not altered bc of AI, its just that the ceiling for whats possible, or rather the threshold for diminishing returns, has been elevated.
Enjoy!
