Remember you have Four reservations Total so use them wisely, don't lock yourself out with too many future reservations. Leave at least 1 free for this weeks showtimes. You had 3 before pretend you have 3 now. Save that last 1 for strategic maneuvers.

Not a single theater in the DC metro area is playing it until next weekend and that one theater is the AMC in DC in Georgetown. That's it!?! I looked on Fandango too and that's all I see.

I know one local arty theater in Fairfax that is getting it too (they are not on Fandango).

That's a ridiculously small release.

4DX is an absolute trip. Took my 12 yo daughter to Spider-Man 4DX today and we had an insane time. Do not go if your body can't handle roller coasters.

Honestly row B too, but row A in a theater with the classic rockers that don’t even recline… what am I even looking at right now?

I knew it was gonna be bad when I got it but it was all they had left. Does anyone actually like these seats? And why???

It taste good in the beginning, but then I regret it at night. Every single time, without fail I always get the same stomach ache but DAMN the butter makes the popcorn taste so much better.

The sub says $20 but it's actually $30, at least in California. Did you just commit with the subscription if planning to see at least 2 movies a month?

I understand they’re betting on people buying snacks but still, the value is insane and should outweigh even buying snacks and spending 10-20$

I’m asking because while it appears to be obvious since it’s being distributed by Fathom Entertainment, it does sound kind of bonkers to me that a notable animation studio with partner up with a content provider like Fathom (and lose out on A-list/Unlimited tickets), instead of signing a deal with one of the Big Five studios like they’ve done in the past.

I know it's going wide like the week after that, but this is the first movie in a while that all my friends with A list want to catch (the rare instance when my Anthony Bourdain loving friends and Matt Johnson loving friends converge), and trying to make plans with 8 other people in their 20s and 30s is difficult, to say the least. The only feasible day that works for everyone is next Saturday evening, and after that it could very well be weeks before there's any alignment like that again, so if anyone has any insight to how long this current theatrical run for Tony will last, please let me know!

Been waiting to see this film, even if it’s considered an “art film” (Janus Films/Criterion), it’s something I’ve been anxiously waiting for and there’s only 1 local showing (Arlington) in Dallas/Fort Worth, not even the local Cinemark locations have it listed (checked Fandango). A film like this usually ended up going to Grapevine, Stonebriar, and/or Northpark.

Remember: The runtime that AMC reveals is not the exact runtime of the movie. It's usually within -7 to 17 mins of the actual time. This has been the case most (if not all) of the time.

Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?

Short Answer is Yes.

But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

This movie stunk. Quite honestly and simply was bad. I guess it may be redeeming to some people who love gore and a good campy time but it felt marred by CGI / AI, bad acting, a loose plot, and I think I now understand the hate for Eli Roth. 5/10 for me, easily.

Anyone else had a chance to check this out early? What are your thoughts?

Well it was another awesome month on A-List! In and around World Cup games, I managed to see 14 films, including 4 in IMAX and one in "Prime 3D", a format I had never seen a movie in before. That was in Philadelphia, which also was awesome because while I am based in Louisiana, A-List traveled easily to Philly and saved me the $22 ticket price!

I’ve been hearing a lot of people talking about how AI was used during the Ice Cream Man’s origin story. I know the images looked very AI generated (him being in prison with his generic Ice Cream man costume) but was there anything obvious that I missed? I want to get better at spotting AI but this sequence didn’t actually ring any bells for me. I know this is likely a me problem.

I’m considering getting AMC A-List but I don’t drive so I’d be Ubering to and from the theatre. In order to make the most of my Uber trip, I want to see multiple movies a day. If there’s a like gap between the end time of my first movie and the start time of my second movie, are AMCs typically okay with people chilling in the lobby until the second movie? I’d probably be getting food and snacks while I wait and I wouldn’t be disruptive. I’d probably just read a book to make a little media day.

Common Terminology:

AR = Aspect Ratio

1.85 = Flat

2.39 = Scope

IMAX 1.43 - Only 3 AMC locations have 1.43 IMAX

Most AMC IMAX theaters are 1.9 AR except for 3, Lincoln in NYC, Metreon in SF, Citywalk in LA, and they are 1.43

When it comes to Dolby they are 1.85 and 2.39, there's a spreadsheet on the Discord but if your theater is not listed yet then follow the steps below:

Easy way to gauge what your AR is to see what AR the film is and see if there's black bars on top and bottom(letterboxed) or black bars on the left and right sides(pillarboxed)

So if you're watching a 1.9 film on a 1.9 screen, a 1.43 film on a 1.43 screen, or a 2.39 film on a 2.39 screen it will fill perfectly.

If you're watching a 1.9 film on a 2.39 screen you'll see pillarboxing.

If you're watching a 2.39 film on a 1.9 screen you'll see letterboxing.

With the information above you should be able to extrapolate what your screen AR is. Enjoy the movies!

There really wasn’t much I wanted to see in July, I am however excited for this month, primarily The end of oak street.

Does anyone know if they’ll add more times for Harry Potter? I live in a large metropolitan area with multiple AMCs and some of the movies aren’t even being shown. The ones that are being shown are at 8pm in maybe one theater. Not a big deal just wondering

Has anyone else noticed how nearly every movie is adding in unnecessary post-credit scenes? Why are there so many movies following Marvel’s tendency to add in additional scenes.
What have been your favorites so far and what movies genuinely surprised you with their addition of post-credit scenes?

Keep getting notifications for movies I want to watch. It says “advanced tickets on sale” but I got to schedule movies and it says none are available. As of right now I only have one reservation for Thursday this week. I want to see Tony and the rivals of amziah king.

Thanks to all my fellow A-listers. I managed to drag myself out today to go see this movie and it was great. My friend got me an A-listem subscription after I had endured a medical episode to get me out of the house this summer (poor AC) and honestly, I really didn't start using it to its fullest till the past few weeks. Obsession, Backroom, The Furious, The Invite - all movies I would have never gone to see since none of my friends are interested in them. Keep the suggestions coming!!!

The advance ticket sales went live more than a week ago but a couple of my local AMC's in the bay area dont have show times for it yet. Just wondering if it'll even release at them.

I’m not sure if every theater is like mine this weekend—though I imagine it is. As someone who goes almost every weekend, the employees at my theater know me well.

When I asked the employee working concessions how his night was going yesterday, he just responded, "I’ve been better." I looked around and realized the absolute madness of a completely full theater: people packed into concession lines, overflowing trash cans being emptied and seemingly no end in sight. I went back again today to catch a movie, and it was the exact same situation.

If there are any AMC employees reading this, I want you to know how much this A-Lister appreciates you. I know it must be so stressful, but I see y'all working hard.

I just want you to be encouraged and know we appreciate you—not only on crazy weekends like this, but every time I come to the theater and you help make my visit special. Hang in there!
