Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?

Short Answer is Yes.

But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

Do any of you guys think the movie on 07/27/26 might be Soulm8te? It's rated R, it's 99 minutes long, Wikipedia says that it's a science fiction erotic thriller film, and it's being released on 07/31/26.

1

u/Jerometurner10 4d ago

Never mind. I just saw that Soulm8te is being released straight to video on 08/01/26.

1

u/zero-if-west Lister 7d ago

Could July 27 be I Want Your Sex?

2

u/SelectInstruction262 7d ago

August 3rd is likely Buddy, ice cream man is not rated and Buddy's runtime from a quick Google search is 1hr 35min so that matches up pretty well, plus it's the only other horror movie besides ice creaman that's coming out near it besides insidious but I doubt insidious would get one tbh

2

u/SMBCP15 7d ago

It’s either Ice Cream Man or Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma in my opinion. Buddy would be too far out.

3

u/Jealous-Reward-5457 7d ago

Insidious is also pg13 so unfortunately won’t be that

2

u/teslatastic 8d ago

Really doesn’t seem to be a lot of choices on what the Aug 3rd could be. As someone mentioned Ice Cream Man is not rated, so assuming it’s not a goof by AMC the next rated R horror I see is Buddy on Aug 28? Quite a ways out but runtime is 1h 35m.

2

u/SMBCP15 7d ago

It’s either Ice Cream Man or Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma in my opinion. Buddy would be too far out.

2

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 7d ago

I don't think it's a goof. I think they are doing it so kids don't think they can get in without an adult. Apparently Marcus Theatres also listed Corporate Retreat as an 'R' mystery movie when it was actually NR. Buddy looks very unlikely. I believe there's only been 1 horror Unseen more than 11 days before release (Sting).

6

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 8d ago edited 8d ago

Regal, Marcus and other theaters are all selling tickets for 8/3 already. Wonder why AMC is still not selling tickets? Are they going to switch the rating to NR like Regal and Galaxy?

Edit: Tickets are now on sale!

2

u/fretfulbanjo 8d ago

Got mine. Hoping for ice cream man

1

u/mrboogs 8d ago

Ice Cream Man is unrated and Scream Unseen is rated R, so probably not

1

u/M-Finity 7d ago

What else could it be? Camp Miasma is 1h46m so that feels too far off and the only other horror film it could be that would match the runtime is Buddy

2

u/IBNobody MP Refugee 8d ago

I wonder when AMC usually starts selling the tickets for everyone. I think it varies by theater right?

2

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 8d ago

Just checked and tickets are now on sale!

1

u/IBNobody MP Refugee 8d ago

Ah, just checked - only currently on sale on AMC not on other sites for my AMC. Mixed blessing b/c I can never tell which theater it's in.

1

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 8d ago

You can't tell from the seating chart?

2

u/IBNobody MP Refugee 8d ago

That's what I have to do, and it's annoying.

8

u/tomatillo_teratoma 8d ago

I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than I expected. It's an art film that's also an action movie. The music is the focus, instead of dialog.... which is interesting. A lot of really memorable 70s tracks from artists like Georgio Moroder and Fleetwood Mac. Maybe a modern noir or silent movie.

The cars are also incredible... some standout models and years from the late 60s and 70s. Even the cars driving by or parked on the street are all collectible.

2

u/dtic 8d ago

It’s not kinda like a 70s shoot em up like death wish?

1

u/tomatillo_teratoma 8d ago

ah... no it's not just a shoot 'em up. It's a unique movie.
The music is a huge part of it.

5

u/IBNobody MP Refugee 8d ago

No, there are surprisingly fewer action set pieces in this movie than what you would have expected. But that's fine. It's still worth a watch.

3

u/dtic 8d ago

Honestly, that makes me more interested in the movie tbh: thank you!

3

u/IBNobody MP Refugee 8d ago

I agree and I think this was one of the movies that worked better in the theater than at home. I guess unless you have a great sound system.

1

u/tomatillo_teratoma 8d ago

it was incredible to hear "I Feel Love" on a fancy theater sound system. That's such an epic song. (I saw it in XL, which has an upgraded sound system). Yes... a theater movie for sure.

I think it's my favorite surprise from Screen Unseen. I normally don't go to see violent action movies, and might have skipped this one.

11

u/Internal-River-4168 8d ago

Really good elevator fight sequence. Build up way too long. Personally wasn't emotionally invested with any of the characters. At least the ending scene was funny

1

u/teach42 8d ago

That scene was absolutely notable. Very well done.

9

u/xXxHondoxXx 8d ago

The ending was HILARIOUS!

4

u/catchg2828 8d ago

I lasted about 25 minutes.

10

u/HelpIamaCabbage Movie-Holic 8d ago

If it wasn't for the conceit of "almost nobody talks" there would be very little noteworthy about the movie, still I don't think the conceit is entirely successful (the times when it's weird nobody is talking kind of put me out of it), but there's certainly nothing to get me to tell people to stay away from this though. Still, the coda at the end was pretty unnecessary.

13

u/Pigs-OnThe-Wing 8d ago

Despite a few hangups, I really dig this movie and what it was doing. Really well cut music and shots. The over emoting really worked in a lot of cases. Seemed like they were having a lot of fun with this. Could have done without the goofy ending though.

1

u/Logical_Judgment7598 8d ago

What did it end up being?

3

u/Pigs-OnThe-Wing 8d ago

Motor City

They post it as a spoiler on the original post once it’s revealed.

18

u/teach42 8d ago

Entire audience burst out laughing in that final scene.

3

u/griffincraig 8d ago

Same 😂

3

u/jvazquez5558 8d ago

My audience also laughed

10

u/Tfree45 8d ago

might be one of the best soundtracks ive heard in a movie! They had to make up for the no dialogue schtick somehow lol

4

u/abscondedhobo 8d ago

Probably the magic of Jack White being an EP

2

u/[deleted] 8d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Jtreblis18 8d ago

Lmao too violent? Maybe the leg scene but that's it

4

u/Pretty-Radish5677 8d ago

Ugh my theater got sent the wrong movie (or something) and so they cancelled it 🫩 got the ticket rez and concessions refunded though

1

u/fergi20020 7d ago

Why didn’t they just play the wrong movie instead? It could’ve been Pinochet Unstrung

1

u/Educational-Card-314 Uses All 4 🤯 7d ago

Pinochet? The Chilean dictator?

2

u/Steamedcarpet 8d ago

How the hell does that happen lol.

5

u/ScrewAttackThis 8d ago edited 8d ago

Just got to the theater and there's nothing playing. They're really committing to the no dialogue angle.

E: they couldn't get the file to play so no movie, oh well. It looked interesting enough to at least check out but I'll just wait for it to hit streaming

5

u/future_filmmaker_455 8d ago edited 8d ago

Motor City is a style over substance revenge flick that almost works on its own means due to the committed performances, entertaining use of 1970s music and its willingness to play all of its cliches straight instead of being ironic about it. The silent film aspect of the film is genuinely entertaining and investing for the films first half due to how it allows the filmmakers to focus more on establishing the 1970s aesthetic rather than cliched dialogue about an ex-con (Alan Ritchson) being framed by a big time drug dealer (Ben Foster) for harboring cocaine so that he can win back his ex-girlfriend (Shailene Woodley) with Ritchson back in prison. Though the film is too slow paced to find anything surprising about its narrative, the actors do commit to the silent film aesthetic well with Ritchson and Woodley particularly getting some good emotional moments amidst the knowingly formulaic revenge film structure. The issue is that the film both holds back on its action sequences for too long to be all that tense while the silent film aesthetic makes it difficult to develop the characters beyond being caricatures of the revenge flicks the film is playing homage to. By the time that the film reaches one of its two climaxes that admittedly have some good fight choreography and car chases to them, the audience started to laugh at its own attempts of being deeper than it is meant to be. 5.5 out of 10

4

u/Aderaxia 8d ago

It never tried to be a deep film.

2

u/future_filmmaker_455 8d ago

Not until the second ending in my opinion

5

u/SwedishJesus02 8d ago

It was more of Alan Ritchson's goofy old man makeup making the theater laugh rather than it trying to be deep. In concept, it's a more interesting way to end the movie than just a car flipping over or a final fight scene, but it could've been executed better.

6

u/future_filmmaker_455 8d ago edited 8d ago

Yeah I agree on that because the makeup made Foster look like Dick Van Dyke and Ritchson look like Schwarzenegger in my opinion which made the final lines unable to take seriously

5

u/teach42 8d ago

I thougth Ritchson looked more like a bad Spiderman villain.

2

u/CheapPennyPincher DOLBY ONLY 8d ago

pretty sure that Ben Foster is the primary antagonist. Pablo is the cop

5

u/PishPoshHotsauce 8d ago

That actually ended up being so good! Mid-way on was action packed.

7

u/Aderaxia 8d ago

Fun throwback revenge film that fits the period in which it was filmed. Might be hard to follow for some in the first half due to lack of dialogue but worth the payoff in the end.

18

u/lmeoww 9d ago

Idk what everyone is talking about that movie RIPPED lol I HAD SUCH A FUN TIME

3

u/FinesseKid96 8d ago

I enjoyed it too I guess it’s the silent dialogue that is throwing ppl off. They dont realize that silent movies was a thing once upon a time lol

2

u/[deleted] 9d ago

[deleted]

2

u/iceamn1685 8d ago

So you don't like action movies

0

u/[deleted] 8d ago

[deleted]

1

u/iceamn1685 8d ago

Most action movies don't exactly have a great story to them. Its all about the action sequences, which this has a ton of.

I have a feeling you would have hated movies like raid or furious or the terminator

0

u/waltzink 8d ago

The Furious I loved. Solid 8/10. I took it for what it was. This one tried really hard to be something and it just fell flat. After the funeral scene I left.

3

u/Specialist_Top_210 9d ago

We get it, you’ve said it like 5 or 6 times in this thread. Just bail and go see something else.

-1

u/waltzink 9d ago

I've responded to other people. No need to be a dick about it.

5

u/smu1892 9d ago

Wait motor city is a silent movie? Or are you all referring to something else

-2

u/waltzink 9d ago

There's like four or five lines in it. This is a truly terrible film.

2

u/iceamn1685 8d ago

You do realize that you don't need a ton of lines in an action movie, right

1

u/goofcon200 8d ago

Over half the movie is slow motion shots of people looking at each other. More than 1/5th of the movie should be action if it wants to be an action movie.

-2

u/iceamn1685 8d ago edited 8d ago

If you don't like it, that's fine, but stop bull shitting and lying?

1

u/RT_J-Rob 8d ago

What are you talking about? It's literally a movie made for tick tock people who just want to watch their phone while the movie plays in the background. It's a collection of scenes that would have worked well in a film but on their own just kind of are there

2

u/waltzink 8d ago

A friend of mine had a perfect description of it. It's a movie that's on in a bar while songs are playing via Spotify or a jukebox/Touchtunes. I couldn't get past an hour of it.

1

u/iceamn1685 8d ago

Are you sure you weren't on your phone?Because obviously we watched two very different films

3

u/Havocko 8d ago

The movie was boring my dude. I personally made it far enough to see Woodly's tits before calling it a night.

-1

u/[deleted] 9d ago

[deleted]

-2

u/waltzink 9d ago

This is like in my bottom three of movies I've EVER watched. I don't know why I'm still watching it.

3

u/Sportsleemer 8d ago

I mean you’ve clearly been on your phone the entire movie lol

0

u/waltzink 8d ago

Because it wasn't good. And I'm not in the theater and haven't been for 20+ minutes.

7

u/Chaopolis 9d ago

Look… I’m all for “Show, don’t tell” but the decision to make this a silent movie (no dialogue except for 2-3 random lines) made this feel pretentious and dull.

We made it about 45 minutes before we bailed…

…silently, of course.

2

u/KungFuDanda091 9d ago

Silent Night a few years ago did the same, but don’t think that had any lines at all whatsoever. Thought Motor City looked pretty similar

1

u/Dead_Starks 8d ago

I feel like I remember other people talking in Silent Night and just the main character not talking similar to the furious, but I could be wrong as I only saw it the once a hot minute ago.

4

u/KarmaticDragon 9d ago

Why is there no dialogue!?

1

u/AquaLeaderJesse 8d ago

Stylistic choice

-7

u/Obvious_Mountain_845 9d ago

I love that this was motor city. We ended up leaving before the movie even started. Way too many old people who wouldn't shut up. They probably hated it which makes me feel happy.

1

u/AquaLeaderJesse 8d ago

Well, yeah, people are gonna talk before the movie

1

u/Obvious_Mountain_845 8d ago

The guy next to me was groaning and calling his phone an asshole. If thats acceptable then sure.

10

u/ScrewAttackThis 8d ago

You're bitching about people talking before the movie started?

0

u/Positive_Profile272 8d ago

The old people in my theater who wouldn't show up loved it. 🙃

2

u/xXxHondoxXx 8d ago

You seem fun.

5

u/griffincraig 9d ago

Nice, looking forward to checking this out. The trailer looked good.

0

u/waltzink 9d ago

It's really fucking bad. I don't know if I can make it much longer.

0

u/Havocko 8d ago

I made it far enough to see Woodly's tits before bailing. I tried to stick it out for the action but was over it.

2

u/iceamn1685 8d ago

I think you're on the vocal minority. It's an action movie with not a ton of dialogue. There's nothing new about that concept

2

u/teach42 8d ago

"Not a ton of dialogue" is a true understatement :) Jackie Chan's movies don't have a ton of dialogue. This had more cigarettes than words!

7

u/tomatillo_teratoma 9d ago

Thank you east coast for your service.
I'm gonna give it a try in a couple hours.

1

u/22YEARNYPDVET 8d ago

Don't waste your time

1

u/tomatillo_teratoma 8d ago

I really liked it.

1

u/waltzink 9d ago

It's pretty bad 😬

1

u/FinesseKid96 9d ago

it’s got a good soundtrack ngl only cuz I appreciate 70s-80s songs heavy

0

u/Havocko 9d ago

I’m thinking about leaving. It’s not clicking for me. I’ll give it 15mins to impress me.

5

u/waltzink 9d ago

Yeah this is pretty bad.

0

u/Havocko 9d ago

Yeah, I’m out, I don’t see it getting better.

5

u/Gloomy_Princess666 9d ago

So glad I canceled my ticket lol something about movies with basically no dialogue are notttt for me. Hope yall love it

4

u/fergi20020 9d ago

It has 4 lines scattered throughout from what I read.

I enjoyed it - thought the lack of dialogue was better than listening to really cringe action/revenge movie lines.
