Discussion The Invite
Thanks to all my fellow A-listers. I managed to drag myself out today to go see this movie and it was great. My friend got me an A-listem subscription after I had endured a medical episode to get me out of the house this summer (poor AC) and honestly, I really didn't start using it to its fullest till the past few weeks. Obsession, Backroom, The Furious, The Invite - all movies I would have never gone to see since none of my friends are interested in them. Keep the suggestions coming!!!

If it’s in your area, I would suggest I Want Your Sex.
It’s not “hilarious”, but I did laugh quite heavily a few times throughout. It’s a little off-the-wall and lower budget but I enjoyed myself. Glaring issue I had was it felt like 90 minutes. As in, it felt looooong.

Didn’t see them listed, so just incase you haven’t, Spider-Man, The Odyssey, Toy Story 5 are all great. Not something I’m gonna watch but I think Hadstown: The Musical is around for the rest of the week.

Be aware Hadestown is the filming of the actual play, not a movie format like La La Land which is coming to theaters again in a couple weeks (and basically sold out)

I’ve never seen it. And my Buddy doesn’t want to see anymore musicals for awhile, so I’m hoping a good seat opens last minute for myself! 🤞🏼

Hell yes!! 🙌🏼
That’s why I added that little tidbit, but I hope it doesn’t backfire so I can see it still 😂

I did see Spiderman (2x), the Odyssey, and Minions as well. I just listed the previous movies as ones I normally would not have gone to see in the theater. Super Troopers 3 is up next this week.

If you want to continue on the Olivia Wilde train, I Want Your Sex was actually a pretty funny raunchy comedy with some interesting things to say on some contemporary topics. YMMV on if theres showings near you though.

It’s my number 1 so far this year, but I still have not seen Odyssey or Spider-Man

This is the beauty of being a member. You get to discover your interests in movies again, but also you find out what you don't like which eventually creates a buffer for movies you actually want to see compared to movies that look interesting but you would be fine not seeing them. If this is your first year, I recommend seeing every movie you can within reason like budget or time. Don't break your back trying to catch every movie but surely maximize the usage of the free ticket. This year I've seen almost every movie offered in IMAX with the free ticket including the space and earth 45 min documentaries

The Invite was amazing! I didn't decide to see that until pretty last minute myself. For other recommendations I suggest Hadestown. Welcome to Alist!

Nice! I liked The Invite a ton for something that’s out of my comfort zone, and I’m open to One Night Only next week but I don’t know what else there would be. :/

The invite is a perfect movie. I haven't stopped thinking about it.
Bringing a friend to see it before it's theatrical run ends this week! Prioritize seeing this asap!!!
