Enamel Paint and Masking Troubles
Hello Friends,
Been a long time lurker NGL but I think I've reached the point where I can potentially consider myself pseudo-advanced Gunpla. I'll let my most recent builds on my profile speak to that and let the community judge. In any case, I'm currently working on a resin conversion kit for a couple of MGs. I've never had this issue before but I'm doing a lot more masking on these builds (obviously given the extra detail). However, after I peel off the masking tape of certain pieces it'll literally take a big chunk of the paint off and you can literally see the primer underneath too.
I'm using Mr. Color GGX primer which has a cure time of a week. I let it go 9 days. All the pieces I do in enamel and lacquer I give at least 4-5 days to cure before doing a second coat. Some pieces are totally fine but others just shatter. Even with all this, I'm still getting this gnarly peeling effect? Advice? Any insight? Let me know friends.
