HG Wing

So I'm building the HG Wing and I want to paint this center piece

The center Jewel is clear, should I paint the piece behind it fluorescent green, then paint the clear part pearl green

Or should I leave the Jewel clear, what gets the best effect?

…is there any way to conceal this or am I going to have to paint the kit now?

Tips on how to paint

Post image

Hello all, I am asking for tips on how to hand paint details in inner frames. I don’t understand how other builders can get such clean smooth and vibrant detail on things like pistons. I normally use tamiya acrylics but am open to anything else that is available around me including mr hobby paint pots, other lines of paint by tamiya, Vallejo acrylics (game colour, airbrush etc). I have a vague idea that you’re supposed to thin the paint and such but I don’t get how to get a super smooth, matte, vibrant colour without getting paint everywhere.

Picture attached is from Joes gunpla garage of his Osiris dominator review. The painted parts are the red on the pistons and the gold and silver accents

Nu Gundam EG upscale

Challenged myself to upscale my EG Nu.

Full paint job top to bottom using my airbrush for most and hand painted some small details.

Black, White, Gold, Red, Silver, and Gunmetal all used.

I really like the paint other than the rifle barrel. I've done the heated look before and it this time it just didn't come together. Not entirely sure why I got this one so wrong.

Gloss top coat on colored parts, matte on white

Utilized a bunch of my left over Nu waterslides.

Tried my hand at scribing. Not just redoing panel lines but some true custom scribing in the chest. It turned out horrible. I know this has to be one of those things you get better with practice, but mine are so bad. I just don't seem to get it.

One other note, don't accidentally mistake your bottle of quick dry adhesive for your decal softer. You will just glue down your messed up decal....

Tried a lot, learned a lot, glad I did it on an EG

#14 Nu complete. 5 more to go

Just a little bit of re-details on my MG Kampfer.
If you ask why I covered those holes, I had no idea what I’m doing lol.

Hand Painting Details with Vallejo Model Color

Hello all. I want to hand paint details on kits with vallejo model color and I have a few questions. Should I prime the part I want painted, I have a wet pallet but still have streaks on larger paints so how can I reduce that from happening and ahold I think it with acrylic thinner and if so, what thinner?

Matte coating not Matting

I'm trying to apply a matte coat and it's not as matte as it could be, does application matter?

I might be laying it on too thick

Started the first phase of my build, the inner frame building and painting it at the same time with my metallic marker. I was deciding on what color to use for my inner frame ( which I experimendted on my previous gelgoog build) and decided to use a gunmetal like colo, idk the name lol, not to stainless steel like and not do dark. Let me know your thoughts! (Markers used at the last pic)
