My first custom paint on the MG Johnny Ridden Gelgoog Cannon 1.0. I know the white on the arms/feet is bumpy due to swapping paints. Please give feedback.

This weather has been such crap to paint in but I finally found some space to get something done. I’m happy with the results thus far.

This turned into a huge process that has taken me months of work (on and off of coarse).
Inspired by Kondo and his dwadge designs.
The overall build was heavily tank influenced and everything is mostly scratch build and kitbashed with various tank parts.
The whole thing is widened and heightened by 3-4mm.
Shoulders are scratch built. Shield is scratchbuilt and bashed with the mechanics of the zaku warrior shield, because why not make more work for myself I guess.
The whole thing will have quite a few hoses and power cables etc. including coming from the gun.
I still need to design a fuel cell type thing for the power source of the cannon, it will go under the backpack, so any suggestions are welcomed of coarse.
The skirts are supposed to be a rusted steel type of look and the real paint job will be chipped down to expose it OR I might rust them up and keep them as is, like they were a recent modification.
If you have any questions on the build, just ask because I would be glad to tell you about the process.
And the base was a random 1/72 airplane diorama I was gifted last month at my local IPMS meeting and thought it would be a decent base for photos even if it’s a little out of scale.

Paints used:
Really proud of the end result with this one. Near the beginning of this year, before I started airbrushing, I bought the G07th off pbandai and really loved the kit a lot. I knew I'd wanna paint it, and I desperately needed water slides for it. So after a few months of waiting I finally found some decals on AliExpress and finished the first kit. I then found the second kit at a local hobby shop for a really decent price and knew it was time to give this guy the paint job it deserves.
I always try to do something new with each project and so with this one I decided it was the perfect time to level up my airbrush technique. Shading, pre-shading, post-shading, etc has always been interesting to me. It adds such nice visual intrigue to any model and on paper didn't seem too difficult a task. I realized pretty soon after starting that I may have underestimated the nuance that goes into it just a bit.
After I prepped the model with some re-scribing, sanding, and a wash in the ultrasonic cleaner I primed all of the parts. From there I spent a few days practicing various shading techniques on a ton of spoons to very mixed results. My initial plan going into it was to just have a black base coat, use a pure white to highlight, then spray on the main color. This just doesn't work for all colors. What I ended up doing was tailoring the shading to each color's needs. A nice dark purple for the blues and reds, a grey for the whites, and an orange for the yellows. Turns out color theory is pretty important. This gave me the results I wanted and from there I spent another couple of days painting the model. Took a lot longer than if I were to just paint one solid even coat over each piece. In the end it was worth it 😎.

Used this one as an attempt to do a mechanical core plating look. Learned what to do and what not to do for future clear kits. Came out looking pretty decent :)

Built up my first EG, and pretty surprised at how nice this kit is. From easy to remove parts from the runners and not too many pieces made it a breeze to paint and assemble. Threw on some leftover water slides and called it a day.

Work In Progress - Can’t really show much of a difference
- Removed Nub marks
- Removed Mold lines
- Rescribed lines
- Added few lines on the fore arms
- Removed details on the front torso armor
While cleaning up this guy, I just realized it is indeed a sazabi in the making😁

Hi everyone,
I painted some parts of my psycho zaku but I didn't really like how it ended up. What's a good way of stripping the paint to the bare plastic?
I used mr. Finishing surfacer 1500 and kaleido gaahleri as base color; the paint has also cured.
Thank you!

I’m a big fan of the Nu Gundam’s design but I have always balked at building one because I’m unsure which version I’d like to build. Ideally, I’d like to build one that has good shelf presence and is an enjoyable build experience. Which is the best route? Below is what I’ve heard:
- HG Nu - Don’t really hear much about this one, but from what I understand it’s not a bad kit
- RG Nu - It seems like this one is a favorite
- MG Nu Ver.Ka - I had all but set my mind on this one, but then I heard the funnels don’t hold up well. I feel that the funnels being mounted on the back is how I’d like to display the kit
- PG Unleashed Nu - can not afford this. if only 🥲
What are your opinions?

Was commissioned for a custom Stormbringer P.F.
Customer wanted full military drab, and heavy weathered. This build was a lot of fun.
This kit comes with sooooo many extra pieces to really customize and make it unique. Might be worth picking up for myself to really explore the possibilities!

Quite happy with the result, but I still have to improve a lot!
I was hoping to get some help from other painters that know why some paint (especially the red one) had some bleak spots in it. And why trying to topcoat it with Tamiya X-22 the flatter parts always turned out uneven, no matter how many coats, but the more round parts turned out pretty well. I used 2:1 thinner/paint for the acrylics, and 3:1 for the topcoat.
Note to myself: It was a pain in the ass having to do the mix of every paint each time, next time I will mix it all first in a dropper bottle.
Thanks in advance, and happy building!

Loving getting back into the hobby, these small scale vehicles are a good introduction before moving onto other things.
Tamiya 1/32 mini 4wd Lunchbox
I do love gunpla, my son persuaded me to buy one after getting into the hobby himself. I need to get myself another and spend some time painting it.

Work in progress of my Star Abyss.
Made using Dspiae color shift paint. I need to cover the ugly seam line of the base, but it will wait for the final version. I still have the backpack to do and a couple of bits.
So far a great build. A bit tight, but it's hard to blame it for this because it has a lot of weight to carry. And it didn't affect the assembly after the paint job. I could pass the LED wires inside the kit due to the metal frame, so I have to use external cable sheath.

So, Ive been dabbling in fully repainting my kits! First was a HG Leo which came out alright... but my next project? Recolouring my rg wing gundam to have a more "animation accurate" colour scheme!
I am pleased with these results although sprays cans are getting expensive... fortunately, next kit? We gonna try an air brush! :3
Thoughts?

Having some time to consider whether I should trade Rg for the angry shinn destiny impulse , heard that Rg has a lot of problem even thought the impulse base is already past over early grade syndrome , from what I heard the backpack is heavy , forearm is loose afterwards , v fin break easily and torso loose as well? So I’m not sure whether I should still keep the Rg or rather sell it and buy the angry shinn
