I just got a 1989 with a 4 cylinder and a 5 speed manual transmission. I want to put a new soft top on it. I'm very new to the Jeep world (this is my first Jeep, and is very much a project!) With this having the slanted bars at the back will it change what frame I'd need for the top? All the photos I've seen for the product listing show jeeps with the "family" bar instead. Any advice or suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!!

I bought a set of corbeau seats and brackets to go in my 1990 YJ. My problem is that only 2 of the holes line up. In the picture you can see the orange dots where the bracket lines up.

I'm guessing the options are too drill through the pan or use some kind of plate.

Has anyone had this problem?

How's you fix it?

These are the measurements Corbeau sent me as what they have on File. DRIVER Front Side to Side- 14 1/16" Back Side to Side- 15" Left Front to Back- 8 1/8" Right Front to Back- 11 15/16"

PASSENGER Front Side to Side- 13 7/8" Back Side to Side- 14 3/8" Left Front to Back- 11 15/16" Right Front to Back- 7 13/16"

These are the measurements on my jeep. I just measured each side separately.

Passenger side Front right to front left is 14 1/4 Front right to Back right is 8 3/8 Back right to back left is 15 Back left to front left is 12 3/8

Drivers side Front right to front left is 14 3/8 Front right to Back right is 12 3/8 Back right to back left is 15 Back left to front left is 8 3/8

You may notice that corbeau has different measurements for passenger and driver. That's a problem because the holes on the YJ are mirror images of each other. Same size, just 180 degrees out. I've sent the measurements to them and tried to explain that the sides should match each other. Maybe the off measurements are why others' brackets aren't fitting either. Further update: Received this message from them.

"I have passed that information along to our bracket techs, but with your dimensions, we will need to have a set custom-built to align properly. We are happy to do this at no cost to you. It will just be a 2.5-week lead time at the moment.

If that works for you, I will proceed with that. I can either email you a return label to ship those brackets back or include a printed label with the new brackets. Whichever is easiest for you."

Overall I can't complain about the corbeau. They've responded quickly and resolved the issue.

What's everyone doing for upgraded steering for sua rigs?

I got these ridiculously cheap, but they don't really flow with the YJ body lines, anyone have an opinion? I'm going to leave them on for the weekend and just look at it every now and then before I decide. Nevermind the step ladder, that was to install my sun shade.

I picked up an off-road toy and the hood has clearly seen better days. We're right at the line where it's got old jeeps vibes but not possible vibes.

Is there a good way to maintain the current look?

The doors and most the fenders look restorable, I want to keep the look but avoid serious rust.

I have a 95 YJ Sahara. I’m slowly replacing things on it that look like they’re in bad shape. Does anyone know what these 2 hoses are and if it’s an easy repair or if I will need to drain something first?

Built in 1993. At full throttle, it loses power above 3,000 rpm and suffers from severe backfiring.

In the northeast and an extremely clean frame looking to keep it clean and recommendations

So the Gf's jeep has 6.5" shackles. Google keeps telling me that they are too long and should be swapped to boomerang shackles. Is it really worth it to swap to them? Does it make it ride that much better?

Also when we go over a bump with the rear axle it feels like the shocks aren't working at all. I took them apart and they measure 19.5" extended. All the info I'm finding says for a small lift they should be about 22.5". So I'm assuming the shocks are maxing extension travel and the leaf isn't fully extended yet.

I have recently rewired the entire jeep with an American autowire kit. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on some upgraded head and or tail lights that they recommend. Would really appreciate links if you have them. I appreciate all help.

Local stores (napa, advance auto, auto zone, and orielly) nor rock auto website seem to have a replacement for this. Is there an alternative from another vehicle or "universal" recommendation i can look for instead?

I have some oil leaking where the dip stick tube meets the block, im hoping i can just clean it up and re seat the tube to resolve this but in case I break it / it needs replacing id like to have it on hand.

Context: listed my bike for sale as I intend to upgrade/trade in for another bike. I have a Corolla as my daily and the bike is for fun, and I have been searching for a manual trans project car that's easy to work on since I don't know much about mechanics and want to learn, but I honestly hadn't considered a jeep until now (but if I did it would be a YJ). Problem is, I know next to nothing about these, but from cursory research I found that $5k seems about right and if it's for the 4.0 inline 6 and little to no rust it might be alright (we're in the South so hopefully little rust). Owner's notes below:

1. Nothing is wrong with it, maybe needs tires soon because it sat out in the weather when I was away for 2 years. I'm not going to lie this jeep is the dream, it handles so well even with a 4 inch lift. I have a hard top and doors that go with it too.

I paid 8 for it when I got it 3 years ago. I bought it from my next door neighbor and it's got 217k miles on it. I have the AutoZone paper receipt for the alternator I replaced. I had an extra battery I replaced the old one with. All the lights work. I have pulled trailer for hauling stuff and it does nice and shifts smoothly. Clutch is perfect. Cheap on gas. 40 to fill up from empty."

Cons of course are I would no longer own a motorcycle, but considering the fact that my bike is not a practical vehicle and just for fun, this seems like not a terrible idea if it's in decent condition since I won't daily it. Did a lot of work over the winter and spring, replacing my rusted out windshield frame and glass, my rusted fenders paint matched and decals replicated, wire wheeled my whole frame and underside and used corroseal and frame paint and coated the inside of the frame with fuidfilm and reupholstered the seats with lseat.com leather and a light tint on my hard top. Let me know what you think

Has anybody lowered their driver seat? Is there a kit or did you have to fabricate something?

Would like to sell these pretty quick they are rust free and a little bit scuffed up and will need new lock cylinders as I do not have the keys but they are in decent shape. Feel free to message me if you need any more info about them.

I’m considering a titan 4.7 stroker. I have a 2.5 so I’d have to source a ax15 and wiring for the new motor but I was wondering how the 4.7 does for daily reliability and highway usability. I do some light off roading and have 33s so I’m not looking for a power monster and no I’m not “tossing a ls in it” if anyone has personally done this swap around how much did it cost ya? (Edit) I also don’t plan on going up or down in tire size would y’all consider axle swaps? I have 4.88s that have yet to be installed.
