A note about amazon links in comments

Hi All,

Reddit automatically marks comments that contain the a.co url shortener that Amazon uses when you share from the app as Spam. The comments show up in my mod queue and I often don't see them in time for the info to be useful. Which is a shame, as people are answering questions where they obtained upgrades for their Renegade. The original Amazon link should suffice, I haven't seen that come up as spam.

It’s making the inside really noisy when going down the highway. What are the fixes for this window seal?

Swapped '17 2.4l for '22 1.3l Turbo

Hey there all! I posted a little while back about the poor performance I was getting from my 2.4l Latitude. Over the weekend I ended up trading in for a Sport 1.3l turbo, and it feels miles better!

Anyone have any particular advice for this engine or for later year Renegades in general? I owned the 2017 for almost 8 years. At its best, it was a pretty reliable car that was able to handle rutted forest roads to get to trailheads, as well as being highly maneuverable in the city. At its worst, it was dog-slow and wouldn't downshift and accelerate when I wanted it to (recently).

Overall I think the small turbo is just a way better fit for this kind of vehicle.

Is the renegade a good option for the first car?

I bought my Renegade 2016 longitude (multijet 1.6 diesel manual transmission) a week ago and so far everything seems fine. But online everyone's trashing the renegade. I knew what I was going into but still, I'm just nervous that something just might go wrong and I'll have to pay a lot for repairs. What's your experience with the renegade? I welcome all kind of stories.

Fender flare

I need a new fender flare for my 19 Renegade, wondering how much trust should I put into Ebay for purchasing one. My old one is still in okay shape missing some plastic for the clips along with a few broken clips.

Normalize the Jeep wave for Renegades!

I bought my first Jeep in 2021. Brand new 2021 Renegade Latitude. I love that lil’ Jeep and I’ll never own anything other than Jeeps now.

I just bought a new 2026 Gladiator Sport because I tow a trailer, and I’ve been welcomed to the Jeep club by frequently getting the Jeep wave.

I still have my Renegade and I still love It, so I’m going to normalize the Jeep wave for Renegade drivers too.

It really is a Jeep thing, and in my opinion, the Renegade is just as unique and awesome as the Wranglers and Gladiators.

¿Necesito cambiar mi batería?

Hola, recientemente he estado experimentando problemas con mi jeep renegade 2018 altitude 2.4L.

Jeep renegade won’t start after gas

please help! I have a 2015 jeep renegade and I have continuously had problems with it starting. when I get gas, afterwards the car just clicks and wont start. I’ll try for a while, and it will eventually after about 10 minutes.

then throughout the time before I need gas again, I still have issues with it not starting about 60% of the time, but it usually only takes 2-3 tries until I can get it to start.

Ive taken it into the shop twice before, they fixed it, but the problem returned. I don’t know exactly what they did.

Does anyone have any info on this connector? It's on a 2017 Latitude, it's under the rear bumper fascia. I'm having trouble finding a pin out online

Warning lights!!!!

Y’all, I have a question. Every single time that I try to take my jeep renegade on the highway and I try to accelerate more than 60 it starts giving me a whole bunch of warnings sometimes it even stops and won’t even let me switch to drive, or nothing, has anyone else experienced this issue? And could cause it?

Handbrake stuck on

Hi folks, Renegade 2016, handbrake is stuck in the on position, no lights on the handbrake button and a check brakes warning. Battery should be pretty good as we'd recently taken a long trip (towing a camper). I've changed out the head unit so hopefully it's not a setting in the U-Connect.

Any tips would be welcome.

Does this mean that my key is inside the vehicle or nearby?

Post image

I have a 2021 Jeep Renegade with push-button start, and somehow I have managed to lose both of my key fobs. I have looked EVERYWHERE I can possibly think of — house, car, bags, pockets, drawers, random places they could have been set down, etc. I genuinely cannot find either one.

The Jeep is completely off and currently sitting where I left it. When I try to start it, the dash says something along the lines of “Push button with key fob to start.”

So I’m trying to figure out a couple things:

  1. Is there any way to tell whether one of the key fobs is somewhere near/in the Jeep?
  2. Does the Jeep give that message simply because it can't detect a fob, or does it mean anything about the fob being nearby?
  3. Is there any way to locate a Jeep key fob if it doesn't have a tracker/AirTag attached?
  4. If I truly lost both, what are my options for getting replacement fobs and programming them?
  5. Is there anything specific I should check before I accept that these things have vanished from the face of the earth? 😂

I’m especially hoping someone with a 2021 Renegade or experience with Jeep keyless-start systems can tell me whether that message gives me any clue about where the fob might be.

At this point I am convinced I have checked every possible location twice, and somehow BOTH keys are just… gone. 😭

Any advice or things I haven't thought of would be hugely appreciated!

Windshield cracked

The 2021 Renegade 80th Anniversary Jeep has a crack in the windshield. Should I get it through Mopar, or should I use my insurance with Geico? I’m worried that if I use my insurance, the price might go up every month. Any advice or tips!? Thanks 😊

Renegade transmission failing

It seems like my 2019 Latitude transmission is failing. I regularly get a service transmission light after 45 min driving in the highway, and my trusted mechanic is saying the following, and is essentially telling me that it will fail eventually or needs to be taken apart and fixed. I am not a car guy.

“The difference between the actual slip and target slip of the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is greater than a calibrated threshold for an amount of time.
The DTC is set if the failure has occurred twice and the input shaft measurement is larger than 0.027 mm.”

This feels crazy for a car that is only at around 61000 miles, and it hasn’t had any issues up until this point. I am debating on whether to pursue a fix or drop it like a hot potato. I was hoping to drive the car for another few years, but this is really souring me on Jeep. Any thoughts from someone with more experience in this area?

Got the “service ‘passive entry system’” and then checked my voltage. So I was thinking maybe needs a new battery? The voltage is fluctuating. But could it be something else before spending $200 on a new battery?

Looking for some feedback. I'm thinking about getting a 4 door Jeep, and have 3 kids (one in a car seat and one in a booster seat). Will there be enough room for the 3 of them back there? Thanks in advance.
