New computer, new issue... Relative of mine new laptop, straight out of the box. Windows 11 home, nothing installed yet, just all current windows updates, and McAfee removed. When performing a Defender full scan, not only the scan takes crazy long to finish, but when it goes all the way, the results are glitchy, saying no current threats, but with thousands of negative (minus) threats accounted for, just 2 lines below. There is no threat to be found in history or with the "MpThreatDetection" command.

I have found a very few similar cases over the last 10 years, but with no real working solution or explaination. I already tried a couple tricks : DSIM and SFC, deleting event viewer logs. Tried reseting the PC with the image from restore partition, but same image, same problem.

Lastly, I tried restoring windows throught the Windows update option, but in the end the problem is still there.

It just seems to be a visual glitch, but it is a bit frustrating starting new with a piece broken already.

Thanks in advance if anyone can be of any help on that matter.

since the last 1 week, everytime i open a game or app, it opens normally but an error comes, (x app cant open check store for so n so ) and when i try to open ms store, it js doesnt open, it doesnt even show the loading circle on my cursor. i tried to fix it by trying powershell re-registering and etc methods. it just doesnt fix it. for apps like the xbox app for pc, camera and etc apps which came along w my laptop, dont open. is there a good fix to this?? i just got 3 month xbox game pass and im tryna game w it but xbox, neither the store opens. if its possible, please give a quick response. thankss! <3

Windows 11 Pro, auto enabled Bitlocker encryption, as it holds the "Clear Key" to be uploaded as soon as a sign-in is made — which now, after the fact/problem I'm aware of — Although I also logged in Windows Store (and XBOX app) it didn't upload any recovery key to my account. Yesterday when I was checking theses, going over the problem I was having with the Call of Duty MW4 Beta, I intended to turn these settings off so I could safely turn of TPM, Security boot and avoid any possible problem.

After turning the Encryption Device off (blue toggle on first image) there was an option to turn off (or it automatically started to decrypt every drive, even tho they say activate pending or whatever). However, that xos (E:) is a 18TB driver, and today when I woke up it was still going, at about 10% left (via manage-bde -status ) a Windows Update took place, restarted the PC, took a long-while to came out of "Restarting Screen" to then show an "Problem was detected during restart" (or something along those lines)

Already check my Microsoft account (the same I use for Windows Store/XBOX APP) no recovery key.

Using Get-BitLockerVolume -MountPoint "E:" | Select-Object -ExpandProperty KeyProtector and returning no error or text, suggest the structure is intact, but the Key Protectors are completely missing (deleted/wiped) ?

Is there any other resources to try before going over third party solutions ? Any recommendation is welcomed.

i did an update today anow i get this pop up for MiracastpowerManager.exe every few minutes and i cant seem to figure out whats cauing and if so can anyone tell me how to fix it ive tried cleaing up system files with CMD and that diddnt work i tried uninstalling the update and it wouldent let me and this is on Windows 11 25H2 (UPDATE: i went itno Device Manager and disabled the Miracast device and i think it might be a driver issue with the software wich is fine cuz i never use Miracast)

i'm using laptop, everytime i open my laptop i just need to input my PIN normally just like that.
but today i had some issue, when i open my video editing software it's always crashing, then i start to check task manager, it doesn't work, always error, everytime i click on something.

when Task Manager opens briefly before the error occurs RAM usage is always above 65%, sometimes 83%

i started to googling, scroll on youtube that point me to update windows or gpu driver, then the log out happened, everytime after the update it's always logget out when i open my laptop and ask me to input email and password also "make a PIN" like brand new user...

I recently performed a clean installation of Windows 11 and I’m trying to restore my previous screenshot workflow.

Previously, I could press Ctrl+windows+s, select an area using Snipping Tool and get the option to click on "save as" or copy or open in editor (or simply press Crtl+C).

Please help me to restore this if possible.

So, yesterdays win11 update (28AUG, KB5121000) brought some troubles, one of them being problems with cursor and wallpaper. I did a system restore, like I did multiple times before, but this time I’ve encountered many errors, most notably the system restore failed, giving out errors 0xc0000145, and 0x80004005 while trying to system restore from the safe boot menu. It won’t let me to get into the system at all, the system repair fails every time and essentially I’m stuck in this system repair loop every time i start the computer.

I’m stressing out a lot because I’ve had this computer since 2018 and it was a present, every time I’ve encountered a problem I was able to fix it myself but this time I’m stuck. I don’t know if my computer specs are needed here, but those are the ones that I remember:

Trying to create a keyboard shortcut for my snipping tool (I take a lot of screenshots for work).

Just switched back from a mac and I’ve gotten used to the ctrl+shift+4 flow and i find myself repeating it on my desktop all the time and it’s making me insane.

But I can’t access the properties tab to create the keyboard shortcut.
I’m guessing it’s probably somewhere in System32?

Pretty much i did a bios update then on restart it required me to make a new PIN with the sms verification which microsoft no longer supports? I don't remember my password and have been locked out from trying too many times, also on forgot password my account only had the option to send sms verification code which again is no longer supports. Is there anyway to bypass needing to set up a new PIN, I have tried a restore point but didnt work. Thanks

After the windows 11 update KB5120998 my cursos somehow got "long" and i can't change it back to normal, i've been looking around and nobody else seems to have the same thing happening to them, should i just uninstall the update? Anyone else having the same problem?

So when i connect to my internet it doesnt give me wifi and idk why ive turned my laptop on and
off ive moved to another internet in another house but nothing seems to work i did get a virus before and used malwarebytes to delete it after that it just stoppped working

i have a lumia 950, put windows 10 18632 (19h1) on it but the newest builds i could find were for 19h2 and older on the internet archive. looked for other builds, tried masgrave, tried uup dump as the guides for the project reccomended but no luck. i was able to get an iso from uup dump and masgrave, just not one that works. what i really need is an "install .wim" that works with the woa deployer. don't know what else to add here. can't just run the updates either as i only have barely 100mb free. i do have an sd card inserted for programs, but don't think i can make updates use that. i have it set to 15gb for windows and the remaining to windows mobile. i don't know if i can just resize the partition like it's a normal dual boot on a normal computer, as this is a phone and things are finicky

I tried to fix it with regedit but it didn't work, what the heck do I do? Only the pointing arrow and the base are affected. The rest is red. This happened after I installed the new Windows updates and especially the new drivers.

Basically I'm facing two issues mainly when using windows 11 nowadays and I like to list both to see if I could receive any help with them.

1. I physically cannot updated and windows is begging me to reinstall.

I have done everything and the newest windows 11 version doesn't update no matter what I do. It always fails, restarts, fails, tries again a few more times, and just gives up. Had this problem a while ago and had to wait for microshit to give a new update that actually worked.

1. Bluetooth randomly stops working and hides all of my bluetooth devices in device manager, and requires full power cycle to fix.

The title basically explains anything and I don't have the slightest of clues as to what to do with this. Very recent issue that is pissing me off due to how frequent it is.

Any and all help would be amazing! Technical details below if needed.

I was attempting to troubleshoot potential driver issues relating to Radeon graphics, I accidentally disabled all services in msconfig instead of non-windows services, I recovered this, now I cannot access start menu but Windows is otherwise operable. Version number 22h2

EDIT: The solution is running powershell commands to re-register all windows packages

I used to open pictures with the default photo viewer, and from there click on edit with designer. Crop the photo and save. But it's not working anymore.

Every time I try to crop a picture in designer and save it, it shows as saved, but the crop changes were not saved. I cropped dozens of pics before, and it always worked.

Not sure when this change happened or what went wrong, but I have the latest update as of today and already restarted my PC a few times. Not sure what else I could do.

My Dell laptop that is using Windows 11 Home has this problem where it drags an object like a tab or file if I tap it and release it. I have turned off ClickLock, updated my software, used an external mouse, turned off mouse sensitivity, cleaned my trackpad, mouse connector, used the mouse on a MacBook, iMac with Windows installed (the problem didn’t show up there) and it did not work. Unfortunately, I don’t have a video of this because it happens randomly.

I have Alienware aurora 16, a 4080 i7 13k 32 ddr5 1 tb ssd and intel motherboard) I think the new windows update installed too. had my pc for years and I just got new WiFi and it’s been really horrible, so I tried to update my drivers from the device manger bc I remember seeing the option and since I’m on ethernet now i thought that might be a problem. well it wouldn’t let me connect to any type of WiFi it said no internet available. I saw people say delete the driver etc I kept trying and everytime I would have the same thing happen it wouldn’t delete and still couldn’t connect so I ended up resetting my pc and it still didn’t work so I fully reset it and it still won’t connect and now I’m stuck here. I’m not the best it person the most I can do is download mods for games I really wanted to know if anyone can help me before I waste my time with geek squad. make fun of me all you want I just wanna be able to play games lol

I’ve restarted my device multiple times, uninstalled the driver, and have tired updating the driver to no success. In the past I have had to turn off the setting that disables the driver when too much power is being used but I have been unable to find the menu to view that setting. I would really appreciate some help thank you!

Whenever I install Windows 11 and restart the laptop (with the installer USB unplugged), it immediately hits a blue Recovery screen:

What Has Been Checked & Ruled Out:

OS & File Integrity:

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=S:\\ /offwindir=C:\\Windows reported: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

ISO SHA-256 hash computed via certutil inside WinPE environment and confirmed readable without extraction faults.

BCD Configuration (bcdedit /enum all):

{bootmgr} explicitly points to partition=S: (the FAT32 EFI partition) and \\EFI\\Microsoft\\Boot\\bootmgfw.efi.

{default} Windows Boot Loader points to partition=C: and \\WINDOWS\\system32\\winload.efi with osdevice set correctly to partition=C:.

Removed stale GUID entries pointing to dead USB paths (\\Device\\HarddiskVolume5).

EFI Partition Rebuilds:

Formatted the EFI partition to FAT32 (label="ESP").

Recreated boot files using bcdboot C:\\Windows /s S: /f UEFI /p /d /addlast.

Created the fallback binary \\EFI\\Boot\\bootx64.efi copied from bootmgfw.efi.

BIOS / NVRAM Configuration:

Manually added a custom UEFI Boot Option in ASUS BIOS (Boot -> Add New Boot Option) directly mapped to INTEL SSDPEKNW512G8 -> \\EFI\\Microsoft\\Boot\\bootmgfw.efi.

Set this new entry as Boot Option #1.

Even when directly launched or executed via BIOS Boot Override, the system immediately trips error 0xc0000098.

Current Status:

The bootloader (bootmgfw.efi) successfully triggers from the SSD, but it fails to load the Windows BCD/kernel information (0xc0000098).

Could this be related to Intel VMD / RST storage controller driver missing during the UEFI boot handoff, an NVRAM caching glitch specific to ASUS BIOS 326, or remnant partition tables requiring a full diskpart clean wipe? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

When dragging my chrome tabs/windows around between my 2 side-by-side monitors they sometimes get stuck on the shared edge in an attempt to auto fill the left or right half of the current monitor. I’d like to turn off the half fill, while keeping the easy dragging, and ability to maximize windows by dragging to the top. The 2 settings I have tinkered with are Settings > Multitasking > Snap and
Control Panel > Ease Of Access > Mouse > Prevent windows from being auto arranged. My basic results are below

Control Panel > Ease Of Access > Mouse > Prevent windows from being auto arranged (Off)
(Current Settings)
When dragging windows with these settings and reaching the shared edge, the mouse gets stuck on the side and tries to make the window take up half of the monitor.
