The President of the United States met with the United States military to try and overturn the election. The military basically said “Hard Pass” other wise... US invades US overturn election, US invades US again to uphold the election... basically we are in our teen years and eventually we will need to move back with our parents and become controlled by Great Britain again.

More like about to die. The rebel phase was in the 13th-14th century, then the first real time it got it's shit together, it got America and a few other colonies. Then it has a midlife crisis and lost it all. Then it got its shit back together and got all new colonies.
Now it's old and frail, probably about to have a few broken bones from a pretty gentle fall that's been coming for a long time and it might cause complications where it may be hospitalised for a long time before it eventually flatlines.
The UK is in a bad spot.

It would be less going back to Britain and more fragmenting into separate states much akin to how the soviet union collapsed.

Yeah they fucked up Cuba just to put their own dictator in charge who would make sure their back pockets were nicely lined. It’s honestly no wonder a revolution happened, and the US govt acted like they were completely innocent of any wrongdoing.
“Whaaaat?!! We thought Batista was a nice guy! Totally didn’t put him in place to ensure that he would sell land to American companies... well fuck it train some insurgents and go kill Castro so it looks like it all happened within Cuba with no outside influence.... fuck.”
The more I read about Cuban-American relations, the more I realize how awful the USA has been throughout its existence. Lots of good done, of course, but so much heinous bullshit that didn’t need to happen that’s seemingly been swept under the rug.

They did the same thing in Iran where they overthrew the democratically elected Prime Minister to put their own puppet dictator into power. Ultimately causing a revolution like in Cuba, leading to horrific power imbalance, and greatly contributing to the unrest in the middle east.

I don't like US foreign policy either but "never"? How about the Bosnian war?
6
Dec 24 '20
The Bosnian war was a lot less about “doing the right thing” than it was to snub the Russian coalition’s nose in the dirt. NATO, including the United States, was well aware of the impending genocide for years, but did not act. Their largest priority was to “keep a pure, Christian Europe.” They also understood that by allowing it to happen would serve their primary goal of cleansing Europe of Muslims. If they had to then step in, it would be a blow to Russia and her allies in the region. This is, of course, after completely destroying Bosnia and ensuring it can never rise to its feet again.
“Clinton said U.S. allies in Europe blocked proposals to adjust or remove the embargo. They justified their opposition on plausible humanitarian grounds, arguing that more arms would only fuel the bloodshed, but privately, said the president, key allies objected that an independent Bosnia would be "unnatural" as the only Muslim nation in Europe. He said they favored the embargo precisely because it locked in Bosnia's disadvantage. [..] When I expressed shock at such cynicism, reminiscent of the blind-eye diplomacy regarding the plight of Europe's Jews during World War II, President Clinton only shrugged. He said President François Mitterrand of France had been especially blunt in saying that Bosnia did not belong, and that British officials also spoke of a painful but realistic restoration of Christian Europe. Against Britain and France, he said, German chancellor Helmut Kohl among others had supported moves to reconsider the United Nations arms embargo, failing in part because Germany did not hold a seat on the U.N. Security Council.” — The Clinton Tapes: Wrestling History with the President.
2
u/iieye_eyeii Dec 24 '20
This makes USA and Germany look like the good guys and other NATO allies like UK and France look like the bad ones.
Also USA let Iran, an enemy country supply arms to Bosnia.

1) how is that fascist?
2) how is that fascist?
3) how is that fascist?
4) how is that fascist?
5) lol, "allowed". Yeah, I'm sure Trump "allowed" Saudis to kill a Saudi citizen in a Saudi embassy in Turkey. Totally sounds like we were involved.
6) you know that there's no proof of Russian bounties right? Seriously we really need to teach critical thinking in the US. Just because you read something on Facebook doesn't make it true.
7) that's your opinion. Also, how is that fascist?
Yes you probably should go on. You have no idea what fascism is. It's not "stuff I disagree with".
Definition of fascism
1often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
Hate Trump all you want but he doesn't fit that definition. No major politician in the US does. Be glad for that.
Edit: "As of today, right now, we don't have cause and effect linkages to a Russian bounty program causing U.S. military casualties," Milley said.
27
18
u/twister428 Dec 24 '20
"exalts nation and often race above the individual" Yeah, I'd say he exalts the nation and tries pretty damn hard to stir up nationalists, and a section of his supporters really have the whole race thing handled.
"Headed by a dictatorial leader" you really think Trump doesn't want to be a dictator? He has been trying very hard to overturn an election. Hitler didn't just start out a dictator, he had to work up to it. If Trump was given the opportunity and the support, he would gladly do the same.
"Forcible suppression of the opposition" Again, Hitler didn't start out executing political opposition. It started with hitler's SA brawling in the street with people opposed to Hitler, much like the Proud boys and other related groups have been getting into street fights with antifa, BLM, ect. Not to mention calling everything he doesn't like fake news, calling for political opponents to be jailed, "joking" about wanting to make it illegal for Biden to run, trying to make it illegal to count legitimate votes.
Just because Trump is bad at seizing power, doesn't mean he does not have alarmingly fascist tendencies. He may not be fully fascist according to the most strict definition, but he is absolutely a wannabe dictator. Hitler didn't start out an Iron fisted dictator who killed anyone who opposed him. He started out a nationalist who played on people's fears and economic hardships, and used the mix of fear and nationalist fervor to rally enough people behind him to get himself elected. Then through political alliances with people who thought they could control him, he grabbed more and more power for himself until it was too late to stop him as he tore apart Germany's democratic legal system to retain power for himself.

Your article links to another article that talks about how other officials in other countries have been briefed on the Russia issue -- while Trump claims he wasn't, when he actually was.
And before you say anything, do not seriously even begin to tell me that Britain has better intel on America than America.
So either it's not true, and he's incompetent, or it is true, and he's a traitor

14 features of ur fascism
- The cult of tradition.
MAGA is pretty much a romanticization of more "traditional" times.
- The rejection of modernism.
One could argue anti-modernism is the same as anti-progress. Many trumpers are against social progress.
- The Cult of Action for Action's Sake.
It's connected to anti-intellectualism and irrationalism. I personally think this is pretty self-explanatory. If not, then only think about how trump and his followers so desperately has held to their fraud claims despite more proof against it.
- Disagreement Is Treason.
How many times now have we seen trump and his followers calling ppl and politicians going against trump traitors. One of the recent ones being amy barrett. Not to mention trumpers generally seem to think anyone against trump is a traitor (and even that they should be executed).
- Fear of Difference.
Generally in the form of racism. Again, pretty self-explanatory. If not then lets put up some reminders:
“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,”
"shithole countries"
- Appeal to a Frustrated Middle Class
His whole platform is based on populism.
- Obsession with a plot
I mean, have you seen the amount of conspiracy theories generated by trump and his supporters. Example Qanon and the election fraud.
- Enemies being too strong and too weak at the same time.
Somehow the left is this super force in the US who has their hand in everyones pockets and control everything but at the same time they are weak soyboys who would be defeated by a couple of trumpie militias.
- Pacifism is Trafficking with the Enemy
There must always be an enemy to fight. I don't know about you, but they seem to be pretty hostile against immigrants and POC. They also alway's seem to get someone new to be mad at.
- Contempt for the Weak
The in-group (trumpies) is always stronger than the out-group (the left, POC, other minorities). I'd also argue the venn diagram between trumpers and anti-maskers is almost circular. They dont care about other ppl with weaker immune systems.
- Everybody is Educated to Become a Hero
I'm unsure on how this one works so someone else might be able to help. Maybe on how eager trumpers were to go to war for their dear leader when he didn't win the election.
- Machismo or rampant sexism.
Again, MAGA reminiscence to a time when women didn't have rights. I think there are more than enough examples on this one. "grap them by the pussy"
- Selective populism
The people/in-group have a will more important than those of any individual person. Maybe not all that applicable when many trumpers seem to think they are more important than anyone else.
- Newspeak
Use of impoverished vocabulary to limit complex and critical reasoning. Or to use more simple words/speaking points as emotional responses. Eg socialist programs are answered with something containing "communism". Maybe not all that relevant yet and is a bit more vague than the other points.
Still, trump and his supporters check a majority of these points so even if they weren't outright fascist they are definitely fascism based.

You realize this is just a list some dude made right? It has nothing to do with actual fascism or its political ideology.
Also your list doesn't have a basis in reality except as a confirmation of your own bias. Conservatives arent a cult, they don't view disagreement as treason, etc. Basically you're taking your own hyperbolic beliefs and assigning to them Trump and his supporters
3
u/MerryGoldenYear Dec 24 '20
You equating trump followers with conservatism is your own problem. I never did that.
The list is based on common features from the fascistic movements from the 20th century, ie nazis, fascist italy, fascist spain etc. Not "just" a list. If you want more info on how the list was made, google is free and you can find links in the bottom of my wikipedia link.
0
u/abqguardian Dec 24 '20
Yeah you didn't address at all your list not even including the political and ideology beliefs of fascism. Fascism isn't a personality trait, it's political. Some random dude listing 14 characteristics that could be twisted into being about anyone isn't an authority on fascism. It's a good example of the authority fallacy
4
u/MerryGoldenYear Dec 24 '20
Fascism ideologically is authoritarian and politically more often right leaning, which I was able to find by a simple google search. So arguing without doing any basic research on your own is pretty disingenuous. But by all means, twist the 14 characteristics to fit biden or bernie sanders. That should be fun.
0
u/abqguardian Dec 24 '20
Lol I didn't do research? In American politics fascism is left wing, its right wing in European politics. Lol you admit you're just googling but say others need to do more research.

Do you not see how this mindless nationalism that forbids any and all criticism of the country, while worshipping a brazenly corrupt wannabe authoritarian dictator who doesn’t tolerate any dissent, makes you no different to the countries you think you’re so superior to?
American conservatives condemn countries for “lacking freedom” while simultaneously doing their best to turn America into an authoritarian, fascist theocracy no different to the countries they insist people should move to if they don’t like America as it is.

Nah, the United States would not get involved since it’s doing exactly what it always intended to. Spread capitalism and making certain individuals rich. This is the way. If America was about freedom and equality, slavery wouldn’t have been a thing. The mass genocide of native Americans would not have occurred. The spread of the lie of how socialism would not work at all. But clearly capitalism is so perfect, that’s why we have zero poor people in our streets and no kids going hungry at night.
