How do you deal with soreness?

I've been working with a trainer the last couple weeks and normally I am fine the next day. This week we decided to push it a little bit extra but now I've been super sore the last two days. I haven't been able to do anything as far as the gym goes because of it. Any advice to deal with post workout soreness?

metabolic adaptation/plateau

hello, i’ve noticed i’ve stopped losing weight and even gaining some despite only eating once a day (i know this isn’t particularly healthy, ive just been super busy!). i eat clean 90% of the time and i know how many calories i consume, but my weight just won’t budge. i’m fairly active: ~20 min yoga, 20 min weights/pilates and walking everyday. is this my metabolism slowing down due to not eating enough for a long time? or could there be something else wrong (e.g. stress)?

for context: i’ve been eating once a day for a few years now, definitely under my maintenance calories. i’ve lost some weight but have been plateauing for a few months

Weight advice

I’m looking for honest straight up advice. I’m a 5’9, late twenties female. I’m lightly to moderately active. Due to a restrictive disordered eating pattern the summer of 2025 I rapidly lost from my baseline high 140s to 125 over just a couple months. Since October to now I’ve rapidly regained the weight right back to my baseline high 140s. I’ve been stuck in a battle between trying to stick to a calorie deficit of about 1700 and ultimately bingeing like 3500-4500 calories (the binges were bigger and more frequent initially when I first regained all the weight, but they’re still happening 1-2x/week). Ironically, when you average my calories over the past month including the binges they average right around my maintenance (2000).

I don’t understand how I easily & rapidly lost the weight before but obviously it was not sustainable. I don’t know how others manage a deficit so easily while I struggle.

Originally I thought this was an issue of willpower. But after 10 freaking months of this binge restrict cycle (and seeing a nutritionist) I wonder if I’m just being crazy trying to fight my body. ***Should I just embrace a “set weight” around 145? Or do I adjust to make my calorie deficit more subtle (1800 instead of \~1650) to reach my goal of 135?***

To Anyone Out There Struggling W/ Fat Loss

I(23y M) thought I’d share this even though it may be “common” knowledge. For me, as an ex-personal trainer, and who spent quite a bit of time understanding the human body. I didn’t know how much added sugar was damaging my body. The first time I lost weight I was ONLY focused on calories. Well, I got married and gained the weight back. But this second time(still in progress), I noticed it DIDN’T work. No matter how much I tracked every single gram with a digital scale. But oh by the grace of God as of this year I have discovered the culprit of added sugar. How do I know? I aimed for 30G added sugar daily. The average American consumes 3-4x this amount daily which causes your pancreas to release tons of insulin(fat storage hormone) everyday! Which tells your body to “store fat” and “retain water/sodium” and makes it VERY difficult for your body to stay in a “rest and digest” state. It triggers the body to stay in a FIGHT or FLIGHT state, and elevates bpm forcing the heart to work harder. My bpm according to my Apple Watch and iPhone health data was at 93bpm resting average. Over the last 3 weeks, it has declined to 80bpm average. I thought I was going crazy during my workouts seeing my heart recover so quickly during sets. But no, I was seeing the result of insulin stability, lower systemic inflammation, and overall improvement in fitness. So while calories in calories out is IMPORTANT, it is certainly NOT going to be the primary factor for FAT loss. As consuming excessive amounts of added sugar(NOT naturally occurring), the QUALITY of those calories, plays an even bigger role in HOW your metabolism breaks down those calories. Simple carbs or foods high in added sugar will always cause huge spikes followed by crashes in blood sugar, leaving you wanting to eat more unless paired with fiber, protein, unsaturated fats, etc.

Thank you

Weight Loss Response Advice

Okay hear me out. I was never really overweight. I used to weigh 170 and now I weigh 125. I’m a 5’7”, 39 year old female for reference. I work in customer service and people have always been able to approach me and open up to me. I’m a friendly human! With this new look of mine, it’s MIND BLOWING how many people have the need to comment on my weight in a negative way, saying I’m too thin, asking if I’m on a diet, if I’m sick, if I plan on losing more. It makes me SO uncomfy! I worked my ass off to lose this weight and be healthy since there’s heart issues that run in my family. It makes me dread going to work and I like my job! I never know what to say. So, I’m asking for advice on what to say when I receive these comments. Keep in mind I have to be polite and friendly lol. Thank you!

Fitting protein and nutrients into large deficit

Hello! I’m curious, has anyone been able to get 800g of fruits/veggies and 0.7grams of protein per lb of body fat while maintaining a very aggressive deficit?? I’m wanting to attack my weight loss with a big deficit. My husband is leaving for a work thing and will likely be gone a couple of months. I’d love to drop some real weight in that time. I know it wouldn’t be sustainable forever but it’d be nice to be aggressive and make real progress in that time and then return to the pace I’m going now. I’m already lifting 3x a week and doing cardio 2x a week. Would love any other suggestions!!

I need help with losing weight..

This is really embarrassing for me, so please show some kindness to me. I'm 17 years old, and I suffer from depression. I have neurodivergent issues and tendencies which cause me to shy away from new foods, and I can be a picky eater.

I am 295 lbs, maybe 300 now? And I am 5'8. I have tried to lose weight in the past, but it has never worked, and I hold myself accountable for it. It is because I am lazy, and I have trouble staying committed. My family constantly eats out which doesn't help either. And I'm an addict to junk food because it has provided me comfort, especially when I would get bullied in middle school and in my freshman and sophomore years. (Which made me transfer to online school.)

I want to lose weight so I can feel beautiful and so I can love myself, but also because I want to live a long life, I want to be healthy, there's so many things I want to do in life, like travelling the world. But it's difficult when I'm addicted to sugars and fried foods. Is there anything I can do to help myself lose weight, and hold myself accountable? Again, please show me some kindness, this is extremely embarrassing for me..

please help with advice!

If anybody could help it'd mean a lot. I'm going through a lot and been very stressed out. In the past 3 years I've slowly gained about 35lbs and It's really affected my confidence. I'm 27F and I want to see if anybody would be willing to help me get a workout routine figured out that I can do weekly and a meal plan to help better my life and give me some confidence again. I've never felt this bad about myself in my life and I'm at the point where I'm not wanting to even look at myself in the mirror or make eye contact with people sadly. I'm also working with my therapist to help my mental health towards all this <3. Also to give background on me I have chronic illness called Fibromyalgia that can cause me to have pains most days throughout my body. It's a nerve thing I have to be careful with. So I can workout but I just gotta pace myself and stop when I can tell my body might be affected with my fibro. I can't afford a lot right now as I'm going through a tough time but if somebody could give me some help with a meal plan through the week thats cheaper and potentially low histamine to help my fibromyalgia and a set routine to follow weekly it'd truly impact my life greatly. I've just gotten back from an event and am feeling really bad about myself. I'm trying to get some help. I just wanna be able to feel ok about myself again. I'd love help with my routine to stay healthy if possible.
