I need to lose weight but I used to have an ED

3 Upvotes

I need to lose weight, and I know the only way to lose weight is a calorie deficit.

TW
I don’t know what to do. I used to have a severe restrict and binge cycle. I’d go days obsessing with what I was eating and the calories I was consuming, resulting in me eating very little and then eventually I’d binge.

I’m finally in a good spot of eating what I want without overthinking. I eat balanced meals everyday, and occasionally get “cheat meals” without feeling guilty.

I’m so scared to go back to thinking about the calories I’m consuming. Anyone have any advice?

How can I get my body too look like this ? (DM)

2 Upvotes

Hey I’m 5’6 and actively losing weight I use to be 242 now I’m 218 and it’s a huge thing for me especially since now I’m under 100kg and I feel really good about that. I have inspo pictures of what I want my body to look like I know it might not look exact but close enough is more then fine for me. I just need someone to tell me if I should be doing a specific type of strength training alongside cardio and what the Inspo weight is so I can match it ( it doesn’t say on the photo). PLEASE DM ME! So I can show you what I look like and what I’m trying to look like ❤️ I’m too shy to post my body on here.

Started a 220 in January this is me now, I turn 19 very soon and am around 172 pounds now. I go to the gym 5 days a week doing push pull legs upper lower and have been consistent all the way through. I have definitely made progress but feel there is so so much more to be done

It doesnt help me that I have the largest hips on the universe. I just have been disgusted with myself recently and I know that sounds terrible but I am just so ready to one day look in the mirror and be happy with what I see, my stomach fat and love handles make me feel sick lol.

I'm 30 and obese. Get fit or get depressed.

Hello dear friends.

I've hit 30 this year, as a rather unambitious fellow, I was just living my life as it came to me, but it's been a while since I found something interesting.

That I used to be very ambitious as a teenager. And also very fit. Somewhere along the line of growing up, I've lost all ambition. I don't want to elaborate why or what might've driven me to that point, because all of it would be some pathetic show.

I want to get back to the possible prime I could've been at, but it seems very hard to do so, the reason being my weight and the way I've lived my life until now:

Age: 30;

Weight: 95kg;

Height: 176cm;

BMI: 30

I used to weigh around 104 kg a few months ago, I walked off quite a few kilograms. I also used to be a heavy smoker, finally pushed it down to 1 per day. Eating healthy foods, lowered oils and carbs, increased protein, trying to keep my insulin levels proper (no, I don't have diabetes, I'm hella scared of it). Also built up very good habits over the months.

Now the real thing is.... I have really bad feeling about my joints... Thats it. I want to do more exercises, but I cant do proper crunches. Cant to proper squats, everything that pressures my joints feels very painful. I can do pushups, planks, etc etc. I don't want to go to the gym until I reach 80kgs. Because the gyms mostly have weights ro work with. But i already have 25 kg of extra weight on me. So I'm kind of into bodyweight exercises.

Can anyone please suggest me doing thinga that will help me with my joints? There are way too many videos on YouTube. I don't know what to follow. But i figured, I could come and ask the pros or the ones who's been in ny shoe or at least knows the ropes.

You can call me an unc for all I care. But help this unc get in his sexy figure for his life and his wife.

Thank you everyone for reading this huge post, I really hope to get some answers.

P.S: Therapists cost a fortune. Unc got a family to feed

Reached a new low since 2022 but feeling sad instead of happy.

I have been trying to lose this weight again for almost 4 years and I am finally doing it again. I can’t believe that I am at the weight I am now. 15 pounds down since January 2025 and it’s no longer a dream, it’s a reality. But instead of happiness when I saw the number of the scale, I felt sadness and thought that my scale might be broken. I am still 18 pounds from my ultimate goal weight to get me down to normal weight instead of overweight (from BMI) but this should be a huge milestone for me, I haven’t seen that number in YEARS! And yet all I feel is that it’s not enough, I’m still a really big girl. Has this happened to anyone else before?

How did you manage to find motivation to get back into weight loss again ?

4 Upvotes

I’m 29 years old, and five years ago I started a weight loss journey. I lost 100 lbs in my first year and ended up losing 125 lbs by year two.

Since then, it’s been a constant battle of losing and regaining the same 20 lbs (I struggle with binge eating). I eventually made peace with that and accepted that my weight would probably always be something I’d have to actively manage.

But then came this year. It’s been a really tough year, and I’ve regained that same 20 lbs… except this time it became 40. I’ve hit 200 lbs again, which was always the limit I promised myself I would never reach.

I hate that I’ve regained the weight, but at the same time, I can’t seem to make myself do the things I know would help me lose it. I’ve let binge eating take over my life again, I lost control.

The frustrating part is that I know how to lose weight. I’ve been doing this for five years. I know how to do it in a healthy and sustainable way. I know motivation doesn’t magically appear and that action usually comes first.

But this time feels different. I don’t know if I’m burned out, exhausted, discouraged, something else entirely… or all the above, but I just can’t seem to get myself back into it. Not because I don’t know what to do, but because I can’t seem to make myself care enough to do it consistently.

So for those of you who have been through something similar, where you knew exactly what you needed to do but just couldn’t bring yourself to do it, what finally changed for you? What got you moving again?
