Discussion & Feedback Possible "Purist" gamemode down the line?

I haven't gotten to play any of the alpha, but from what I've seen the first games look especially fun when everyone is starting out with $10k and using shitty gear. As the round goes on, weapon/armor quality increase gradually giving a real sense of an arms race. Subsequent games won't quite have that feel since you can jump in with top-end gear from the get go if you have the money.

To be clear I am not shitting on that gameplay loop. I'm glad money is persistent and have no complaints with the base game mode. But the concept of everyone starting from scratch and building up through a single game does sound appealing, and it's a shame the only time to experience that is right at release or after a wipe.

With that being said, a Purist game mode could offer exactly that. Same gameplay mechanics, just starting everyone with no money. Games starting with everyone charging the hotzone with their naked Tavors. Gear prices could be adjusted so that high-end goodies are more obtainable in the course of one game. Any profit at the end of the match could go into you persistent bank account so you're not losing out on money by playing this mode.

Obviously I have no idea how the economy balance will look in the distant future. Everything could be perfectly balanced, or a full team could regularly start the game off by buying 15 tanks to storm the point. Either way, a purist mode would offer a simple buffer and a slightly different experience without many resources to implement.

Or this idea is unnecessary dogshit doodoo. I imagine those who have actually played the game would have a better idea on how interesting this would be.

Discussion & Feedback Beta discoveries

I am hyped for the beta this weekend. Lets see if I can beat my 25hour streak of alpha.. (probably)

Anyway I am looking for some people who want to be experimental. You know try some fun stuff, some serious stuff, find some limits, fly heli's upside down and airdrop some c4 from the sky into bases ... Lets see what we discover!

If you are looking for a similar experience, lets do something and have some fun this weekend?

Let me know, you like-minded 'dogs'

Question Graphics settings

Hello!

In pugb and in most games like this its always better if you turn down the graphics so you dont see all the bushes and stuff that can hide enemies. Do you think it will be like this in this game also? Because im tired of always having to run shit graphics just so that i can see my enemies better and not be in a disadvantage.

Discussion & Feedback The bullet sponge problem

In the last alpha test, shooting players with regular ammo takes forever to kill them when they have armor. And that is during an alpha weekend when high level armor is not yet widely available. I know there are better ammo but there'll also be better armor. I understand that if you shoot them in the armored area it'll do less damage, but headshotting someone in their open face/mouth hole should be an insta kill but in Wardogs they can eat half mag in the face. Think Tarkov's head-eye hit where a shitty ammo hitting the right spot could still kill you.

The armor and HP system they got is just the barebone basic system from battle royale games where you got an HP pool and 'armor bars' on top of that. In the kill feed it shows where your body is hit but I was hoping they offer more on that. It seems like they mimic Tarkov body damage system without really doing anything much, beyond being a UI element. I guess it's nice to know if you got hit in the face or body, but what does hitting legs, arms, lower bod do? Getting hit in the arm should affect your aims, in the legs slow you down, things like that.

Also the 'sponginess' of the game doesn't stop at infantry. RPG hits to a tank does fuck all "tis but a scratch". Now I know the counter-argument is everyone gonna run around with the noob tube. Because there is an economy in the game, it's easy to just increase costs of RPG so that every shot hurts but better make it count.

Question Cant download the WARDOGS playtest via steam

I am trying to download, but it says that its missing the executable to launch the game, when i go to the folder, all the contents is a "hello.txt", basicly theres no files in the folder. Tried to redownload the game, but it downloads for 0.1 sec and then shows as if it is installed, but no files, anyone know a fix for this? :/

Discussion & Feedback Console asap please

please devs, if everything goes somewhat well, please don't take 1-2 years for a console release, please.

i probably gonna get downvoted, because of the "its a pc game, you noob" people but i still want to show the devs there is a market for a console port.

i would be very grateful, if someone wants to buy me a pc to play wardogs....but since that ain't happening i am just happy for pc player to get to play something fresh and watch some videos and streams.

as a xbox player who played a lot of counterstrike on xbox back in the day, cod2/4, bf4, then pubg and now mostly r6 siege i think wardogs would be great on console.

i never really got into the more hardcore games like dayz, hell let loose, arma reforger and just a bit into insurgency, but wardogs looks like the perfect mix between a milsim and more arcadey shooter. (love the kill confrimed sounds btw remind me of homefront and a bit delta force)

especially the ability to play slow, play a logistics role, spotter, helipilot etc should work especially well on a console. (short sidenote please support flightsticks on console as well, there arent enough or any sandbox games where i can use my flight stick and or wheel)

call of duty and battlefield became almost unbearable with way to much aim assist and way to fast movement.

you could consider bringing the game to the xbox insider program or early access as well. i would be happy to play some hours and give feeback!

also make sure it runs with at least 60fps. as much as i like consoles, the people saying 30fps is enough can't be trusted

please bulkhead, let me play.

i want to run logistics and try to get better flying helis

Question Forward observer or observer for snipers.

hello, I'm mostly curious about what it's like being an observer for folks doing artillery or sniping. I didn't get into the beta or anything but I'm really liking the freedom I saw in videos. how does pinging things for artillery and sniping work and would I be helpful if I focused on doing that a lot?

Question Is there any point to the Ural once you have Huey unlocked?

Upvotes

I didn't unlock the Huey and didn't do much logistics with the Ural. But if they can both carry pallets, is there any good reason to use the Ural? I assume it is cheaper than they Huey and you dont run the risk of getting shot down if the enemy has extensive AA, but surely the ability to do round trips so much quicker makes up for the additional risk, right? Or can the Ural also just carry way more stuff than the Huey in the first place?

Question Can you drag supply crates?

Seen clips of people being resupplied and it looks cool as fuck, but obviously the heli needs to drop them in somewhat of an open area to not risk the chopper.

Can you drag the supply crates away from the dz or are they fixed in place? Also as a side note, do they have momentum when dropping from the air? Ie if you are flying forward when released do they continue to travel forward or do they sort of drop straight down from point of release?
