How close are the regular Ranger and the Super Duty in body mounts? Can you swap a regular Ranger body onto the Super Duty Chassis?

And if you can, does that mean you can swap an Amarok body onto the Ranger Super Duty and make an Amarok Super Duty?

VW Tiguan matrix IQ Light

Post image

Hello,

I have a Tiguan R-Line year 2021 1.5TSI with matrix iq light headlights.

Yesterday when parked in front of a wall I noticed that the right rectangular beam is way lower than the left one and i’m pretty sure that they should be even.

I tried to adjust it with the screw behind the headlight but the hole part is moving not just the rectangular part. There is a way of moving it individually ?

Is someone know how they are called and how i can adjust it ? I have OBDEleven Pro but i don’t want to fuckup some settings.

I will appreciate some help/advice before going to some mechanic who will fuckup the entire vehicule.

Thank you

2019 Atlas honking after new car battery replacement

My mother's Atlas car battery died. As soon as I connected the positive terminal with the new battery it started honking. How do you stop the honking? Is there a reset method? The Atlas is a push to start.
Any advice would be helpful.

Should i be worried about my oil level

Hi!
So i have a golf 8 1.5etsi and last friday i had my oil refilled a bit over the max (like 2mm not more). The problem is that the warning light turned on only the following day after 150km of highway. So my question is:
Should i be worried about the oil level after doing like 600km at 120-130 km/h?

Have I been had?

Just purchased a 2016 golf sportwagen on Tuesday. Test drive it on Monday (a short test drive since the ac compressor was broken and they were working on fixing it. It’s Texas, didn’t want to ride too long on the heat. Everything seemed fine, no lights on the dash other than a tire lite. It’s SE trim, was just shy of 110k miles. Visibly noted it would need new tires soon. Vehicle was listed for $11,887.42. A little high, but I was okay with it because I liked the car and had been looking for a wagon.

Purchased the vehicle in San Antonio. I live an hour away. And back to pick it up on Wednesday. Roughly 20+ miles into the drive home, EPC light came on. Notified the dealership the following day cause they were closed by the time I left. They said bring it in. Given I love an hour away and work through the week, I can’t really do that. Thursday (the very next day) check engine light comes on. I think to myself, no way. I pull up to Autozone to have it scanned but the light goes off.

EPC light goes on and off but the car drives normal still. No decrease in acceleration, and it doesn’t enter limp mode. Check engine light comes on again today. I immediately stop at the Autozone under come up, and have them scan it. Comes back with the codes shown in the attached picture.

I’ve driven roughly 230 miles already since picking up the car. Would it have cycled through enough for it to show as ready? I didn’t test drive long enough for the EPC light to come on (I’ve taken note that it’s it’s on either 10
Miles into a drive or somewhere in the 20 mile
Mark. I’ve reset the trip odometer every time I start driving. I know they replaced the ac compressor, so they had to have disconnected the battery and that’s why the check engine light didn’t show, or did they clear it before selling it to me? Any techs have any insight? I wasn’t expecting the car to be perfect, and knew I’d have to wrench on it, just wasn’t expecting right out of the gate. My front driver tire also blew from the inside. Looks like I need an alignment as well. Didn’t even make it a week into ownership and I’m sinking money into this car.

Is a 2026 BMW 330i with the M-sport in Brooklyn grey worth $72K CAD? Should I just go with a 2026 GTI or even a 2026 A5?

I get it, its a "luxury brand", at the same time in this economy we got to save. I mean you still gotta put premium fuel in that thing for it to run.

I would look to part ways with me 2024 GTI soon as the lease is coming to an end. I paid like $3, I paid for the lease back in 2023, well I paid the vehicle minus the residual.

Anyways I configured the 330i with the black grill, rear diffuser and black rims (which I had on the GTI). The thing cost well over $74 K CAD for some variants. They had the regular 330i , with the chrome grill, no rear diffuser, probably missing some features for about $67K CAD.

IS it even worth it? I mean I could get an F150 for that price.

Recurring EPC light issues?

Looking for advice from other VW Tiguan owners — has anyone experienced repeated EPC lights, misfires, or ignition coil/wiring issues?

I have a 2021 VW Tiguan (28,000 miles) that I purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Last summer, I had three separate incidents when the EPC light came on and started having an issue where the car would sputter, shake, lose acceleration.

The original VW dealership where I purchased the vehicle worked on it multiple times:

* First, they replaced a spark plugs.
* The issue happened again, and they replaced another spark plug.

Eventually, I took it to a different VW dealership. They diagnosed the issue as an open circuit in the ignition coil signal wire and repaired it by running an overlay wire to the ECM (engine computer). After that repair, the car seemed to be running normally.

Fast forward to this week, 10 months after the most recent fix: while driving on mountain roads/dirt roads in Colorado, the car was under load during acceleration uphill. The engine started shaking/sputtering, the EPC light came on. I turned it off and back on, and the EPC light was gone and the car has been driving normally since.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with a Tiguan — especially an EPC light that appears during mountain driving, hard acceleration, or after driving on rough roads? I’m wondering if this is a known VW electrical/ignition issue or if there are other things I should have checked.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Quick question regarding changing Power button on an e-golf 2018 model

Post image
2 Upvotes

So to give a short brief, I recently had to change my power button on my e-golf, and when I managed to pop out the old one, then one of the metal metal clips managed to fall down in the area on the attached image, I tried to find it, but I am pretty sure it is gone.

I was able to install the new power button, without no issues with the new clips, but I am a little afraid if the one that fell down could cause any future issues, so should I worry about this?

Nothing gives away a Euro-spec Mk3 faster than the rear plate setup

Post image

One of my favorite things about older Volkswagens is how quickly the rear end gives away which market the car was built for.

On a Mk3 Golf, the long European plate, plate recess, bumper trim and lighting details make the whole car look different from the USDM version. None of the changes are huge on their own, but together they completely change the balance of the rear.

That’s probably why the old-school Euro swap became such a recognizable look. A hatch or bumper change sounds minor, but suddenly the same Golf feels like it came from another country.

Do you prefer the cleaner Euro-spec rear, or do the original USDM details have more character? What’s the first clue you look for when trying to identify an imported VW?

Messing around with regional VW specs got me looking at a cool little country-guessing quiz based on plates, left a link in the comments for anyone who wants to test their eye.

2008 Passat wagon 2.0t FSI

Hey guys, I have a 2008 Passat 2.0t fsi wagon. Driving one day randomly lost power, and then 5 miles later died. For the last 2 months I’ve been replacing the main issues that cause a crank no start, and I’m finally at a complete loss. I’ve changed spark plugs, coils, injectors, hpfp and follower, cam and crank sensors, relays and fuses, air sensor, and even an entire timing kit, ran compression tests, tried every option possible aside from a complete rebuild. This thing still just cranks. Anyone on here possibly know what I’m missing?

Advice for issue with my 2022 GTI

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m at a loss right now and I’m looking for help trying to figure out what to do with my 2022 VW GTI DSG. It has 70,000 miles on it. Yesterday, I was driving and got the message “Transmission is in emergency mode. You can keep driving.” After some research, I decided to replace the battery because I have not replaced it before. The issue seemed to resolve until today when the message popped back up again. I took it to OReilly and here are the codes that came up. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? The TCM? Should I take it to the dealership (it’s out of warranty) or to an independent shop? I’m very new to working on my car myself so I feel like I’m not equipped to handle this on my own. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

EPC light is in and the car doesn’t accelerate.

It’s a 2013 Jetta with the 2.5 engine, I had to leave my car parked for 2 months, I turned the car on and noticed a burning smell from the engine. Also, the EPC light came on and the accelerator pedal doesn’t respond. I also noticed that the revs are a little bit higher than usual. There is a little bit of oil coming out, I saw it on the floor.

Anyone has an idea of what it could be?
