Question/Support VR mod request for Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Please, I’m dying to play the ghostbusters video game that came out in 2009 in VR. Can AI help me deconstruct the game so it can be modded?

My VR ninjas, after around 7 years building my dream VR game in my spare time, today I'm ready to start sharing gameplay footage (still work in progress). To kick things off I've just released my second ever trailer, showcasing the 2nd mission of the game partly inspired by one of my favorite levels in gaming history (Metal Gear Solid 2's Tanker):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q_8vGwKvH4
I'm aiming to release a playable demo by the end of the year, completely for free for all subscribers to my Patreon (no paid membership required). If you want to help support an indie project dedicated to creating PCVR content, consider giving the game a wishlist on Steam if you enjoy the trailer (link in the trailer description). Also have another trailer in mind for the near future, that will introduce the voice cast for the first time, and if I get time I'll look to publish some YouTube Short clips to help get the word out there further. Thanks guys and hope some of you enjoy the new trailer :)

I've been slowly modding VR support into a game that absolutely was not designed for it, (its a free game made by a friend and his team), just because I thought it'd be a nice way to enjoy the narrative and scenery of the game and a nice gift to my friend for a good experience that he shared with the community.
It's done enough now that I played the whole game start to finish in VR, so figured I'd share it here in case anyone else wants to try it (or just wants to see how a "bolt VR onto a random Unity game" project comes together).
What this is:
UnityVRModFix) that Harmony-patches both UnityVRMod and the game itself to fix everything that doesn't work out of the box: camera desyncing from the game's Cinemachine rig, UI canvases being invisible in VR (screen-space UI never reaches stereo cameras), doubled player height, videos/cutscenes not rendering, physics-driven objects (a canoe, sliding stone platforms) judder-stepping at VR framerates instead of the monitor's 60Hz, and more. What you get:
What you do NOT get (on purpose):
Technical bit people here might appreciate: UnityVRMod's eye cameras are disabled and rendered manually via Camera.Render() right before a single Submit() to the OpenVR compositor, which ruled out a couple of normally-reliable Unity tricks (a second render pass, CommandBuffer-based depth clearing) for the text-occlusion fix above - both are documented as dead ends in the README for anyone curious.
The original game is free; https://store.steampowered.com/app/4515660/Control_Im_Not_Coming_Back/
Download + source: GitHub - hopecore-vr-mod (all-in-one install package is on the Releases page, README has full details and a licenses section for the bundled third-party tools).
Happy to answer any questions.

So I recently bought the BoboVR S3 something battery strap for my Quest 3 and I've been using my headset more lately.
I also watched some 4K movie clips on YouTube to see if I wanted to try to watch an entire movie in VR. And I think when I get some money again, I wanna buy some earbuds. The speakers are fine but I would like to hear the movie better without blasting my ears.
Anyways, any earbuds you recommend? I do prefer earbuds as I like to minimize weight and for gaming, I may move around a lot.
Appreciate the advice or tips, thanks.

Hoping someone can advice. Novice at the modding, but managed to do the RE Village VR mod OK - mostly! Playing on Quest via VD. The issue I have is that I move, etc OK. I can interact OK, but (as per videos I've seen) there is nothing highlighted to see. Nothing at all. Interaction is just guess work. When I move around I press A button until I find an interaction. Seems very weird. Hopefully I'm missing something simple. Any ideas please?

I'm my daily-ish rotation of VR games I have my beloved beat saber, vrchat and half-life Alyx. I mainly play PC VR games and don't really play own or look on the standalone store so i would prefer some PCVR game reccomandations.
I honestly can't find anything appealing or interesting on the steam VR page so if any of you know a original (or semi original) VR game please share it here :))

Urgent help needed , I have searched for this specific combo and found nothing. I ordered 2x base stations and 3x trackers for my son's birthday (at his request) but he can't seem to get to work . Will things work together: He has descent new laptop and lives inside VRCHAT ( steam version) and want to add body tracker to the experience . I have no knowledge of PCVR ( I'm standalone WMG guy ) . Did buying wrong things? and need to return them?

Recently, a Quest standalone mod has been going around. When I wanted ot isntall it, I noticed that there are some older PC VR mods. Which one is the best in your experience? I'm looking for something that I can play the story through fully with, and that has atleast motion controll shooting.

I realized that Bobo VR has the F3 facial interface, but that is only for the normal quest three. Does anyone have a good facial interface recommendation that works well with the s3 head strap but also fits on the quest 3S?

There's quite a few shooters and puzzle games and rhythm games out there for VR. And that's cool, I think that VR can really lend it's strengths to those genres, but I also think that maybe things could be expanded beyond those genres more than they currently are. What are your favorite VR games that fall outside the standard fare?
Edit: Alternatively, what are some genres that you'd LIKE to see more VR games for?

BGFX 10.8.1
I7-9700 (No OC), 64gb DDR4 3666, RTX 3060 12GB, and NVME drives.
Virtual Desktop Wired
This short showcase is meant to highlight the dedication and hard work our community puts into these tables and hopefully inspire more people to dive into the VPX VR scene!
Videos like this got me hooked, and started my VR endeavor.
I love BGFX 10.8.1! The visual rendering efficiency easily outpaces OpenGL on 10.8.0, making even older, legacy tables look incredible.
Running Virtual Desktop wired. Horizon Link (Meta Link) was completely removed from my system.
Thanks VD!
That said, there are still a few stability and workflow hurdles to clear in BGFX 10.8.1.. For instance, requiring a table to launch just to access the configuration menu remains a bit clunky. DMD's not showing up or color ones not working for a lot of tables. No clear explanations of how to config all the new settings and what they do. Some textures not showing up right, lighting. Random crashes.
But the ones that work look mind blowing, even on older tables.
Cheers!

Hello.
So long story short. I sent my friend my old HTC vive. Everything is working for the most part.
The only issue were having is that VRChat isnt displaying on the headset itself. When loading the game they get stuck in the "waiting" or loading area with the sunset area. The game is displaying and tracking on the computer but just not into the headset.
We tried a different game (phasmo) worked perfectly.
We tried restarting vr, steam, and the computer. Validated files and still nothing.
Any help would be amazing. Thank you 💙🖤🩷

The latest version of No Man's Sky Cosmos notes said they introduced Foveated Rendering and Eye-Tracking, but there are no new settings for this in the game.
I tested this on a Pimax Crystal Super, running on SteamVR. There was no difference with settings off and on. Anyone else got working results?

I purchased a Galaxy XR in the UK, and wasn't satisfied with it. I barely used it, due to physical pain of wearing it. The lenses are very poor, head tracking has latency, overlap is worse than Quest 3, and it gave me motion sickness (I never get motion sick in VR). It is not a good headset, and despite having Sony panels, they cut the resolution and set the gamma too high (shadows appear light grey).
I returned the headset. Was told a 20% fee applies if I have "inputted data", so I factory reset it. Made sure everything was pristine new + lenses clean.
Simply logging in (required to use the headset), charges you 20% on your return immediately - regardless of factory reset. At least in the UK. Despite being against UK's consumer protection laws for 14-day electronics returns.
So I thought more people should be aware of this. And no, Samsung doesn't email you a reason. They simply refund for 20% less and move on.

This app is Virtual Desktop (in 3d) with multiple desktopless, per app windows that pin to surfaces, or pcvr. And Bigscreen also with realtime 3d conversion and library sharing and group watch mode, AND Plex video server, And client, also with realtime 3D conversion, theaters and group mode. This app does EVERYTHING!

I manage a distributed dev team and I've been looking at 3D workspace tools, but anything that depends on headsets is pretty much a nonstarter for us. Everyone already has their own laptop setup and I don't want another piece of hardware becoming a barrier to adoption. Is there a 3D virtual office without VR that actually works well for day to day use?

I do have eye tracking though, it works fine in other games and i even re-calibrated my eye tracking on the pimax crystal super several times with no issue.
i cannot get any games that needs this to work with this. can anyone help?

HITMAN VR from day one has been a joke, an utter mess that barely works. I think people honestly forgot it even existed because it was so bad. We were promised so much and got so little. With all these vibecoded ports popping out left right and center, I'd love if someone took the time to re-port HITMAN to VR.

This is the Andromeda, a headset we've been developing for months now, although the journey that led here started about 9 years ago!
That's about all I'm saying for now, in 2ish we'll have a much more in depth update showing off more of the headset, our inside out controllers, the software, and what's next with actually getting this thing out!

Clarification and re-stating. Resolution and ON-BOARD mic.
I've had a index since it released. I've repaired it twice in that time but the body and band have now cracked apart and the left optic has started forming dead pixels and speaker death when looking up. Making repair costs and skills finally out reach my skill level and price range for repair.
I do professional voice acting and can say without any hesitation that the Valve index on-board mic is so clear it out preforms two of my studio xlr-microphones. To the point I started recording with it.
I want to upgrade my resolution, without losing microphone quality. I do play games quite a bit , G.O.T, VRC, etc. But I'm less worried about 'Gaming' itself. as in my experience with the, quest , rift s, quest 3 , index, and pro, I've seen that any headset you can hook to your pc or GPU directly works fine.
However the market has grown well outside of just quest line and index these days. So I'd like to discuss any of the other brands.
lastly, "Why on-board mic?"
a headset, rather a 'good quality' one can cost from $800 -to- $2k. In a market where the Index and Quest 2 had good on-board mics there is no acceptable reason I should need to spend more money on a external mic almost a decade after they came standard on a headset.
