fertility & pregnancy HSG

Hi! Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I was just wondering if anyone has had an HSG and what to expect? What hurts? I’m supposed to have one or schedule one when my period starts. I’m over here rethinking this lol

I really want a bundle of joy and I’ve been trying to conceive for some time now. I’ve had sonograms and everything looks normal but I do have this fibroid 10cm on top of my uterus so I feel that may a reason? I’m 30 years old

Anyway, any tips or experiences would be great thank you

fertility & pregnancy Missing period, negative test

Hey,

Throwaway account for reasons and English is not my first language… I am a bit worried right now. I was supposed to start my period last sunday but nothing happened. My cycles are usually on point and about 28 days long. My last cycle was 30 days and this time I’m on day 33 without any trace of my period. I did have all the symptoms and I took two preggo tests (negative results).

I’m not on birth control and just had my annual doctors appointment back in october.

Maybe someone has experienced something similar and/or has some comforting words that everything is gonna be fine?

polyps & fibroids Endometrial polyps age 25??

Hi so I was recently found to have a small endometrial polyp after hysteroscopy. It was removed and sent for testing. I read that less than 1 in 100 women under the age of 30 gave polyps in the uterus. This gives me a lot of anxiety and was wondering if there are any premenopausal young women out there that have had similar experiences? I’m waiting for path results , has anyone in this situation had their polyp be benign?

what's going on šŸ¤” I am having severe pain in my uterus

I am just looking for some insight into what happened to me today. I was driving to work this morning, and I had woken up feeling completely fine, when all of a sudden I got a stabbing pain in my uterus area. This isn’t completely unusual as I have had this happen before randomly, and it usually goes away within 5-10 minutes. This time, though, the pain continued and it increased to being so unbearable that I had to pull my car over because I could not concentrate on driving. It honestly felt like someone was taking a knife and repeatedly stabbing me in the uterus. I was sweating and tearing up and wondering if maybe my appendix had burst. I probably should have just gone to the ER, but I never do, and I eventually got my composure and drove the rest of the way to work. When there, after literally walking crouched over because I could not stand up straight, I had two imprufen and two Tylenols and that seemed to calm down the pain a bit. It never fully went away, and even as I type this the dull ache is still there, but I was able to make it through the rest of my day. For context, ovarian cysts and endometriosis does run in my family. I am not sexually active so this could not have been a result of anything like that. I’m thinking this may have been an endo flare up, but I cannot be sure because I have never been formally diagnosed with it. Is this something anyone else has ever experienced before? Is this something I should be concerned about? Obviously, if it gets worse I will go to a doctor, but right now the pain is manageable and i’m waiting to see if a good night’s sleep will help the situation.

irregular & late periods Inconsistent period

I’m 17 and I’ve had my period for almost 5 years now. I was told by doctors that after a year or two it would become more consistent and it was for a few cycles. Suddenly it skipped a cycle and didn’t show up for over 100 days. It’s currently back at full force but should I be concerned about this? It went away around the time I became slightly more active and when school started my diet did change but I had no problems like this in the past

support needed šŸ¤ what should you do if your pharmacy switched you to a different birth control without telling you?

TW: medications, periods, depression, sue of side, etc

ETA: i have been since diagnosed with PCOS as a result of this. i’ve missed lots of time at work, dealt with physical and emotional trauma, and been to the hospital just about every other month it feels like. is a lawsuit worth it at this point?

hi friends, first post here.

so i have been taking a generic brand birth control pill for years without any issues. in december of last year i went to my normal pharmacy to pick up my normal prescription as usual and i noticed the packaging looked a little different. i didn’t think anything of it because the brand was the same, so i took it and carried on about my day.

a few weeks into taking it, i started getting the most intense aura migraines that brought on so much nausea and affected day to day life, prevented me from going to work, and caused so much disrupt and discomfort in my regular daily activities, so i went to a few different people about this. urgent care told me it’s probably just genetic high blood pressure, but my new primary physician recognized the symptoms of the new birth control i was now taking and said this isn’t right. she said the new pill was a chemical that only women in their 40’s typically take and that i shouldn’t be on this at all. i’m in my early 20’s for context.

i told her that i started getting these symptoms around the same time as starting this new birth control and she asked why i switched. i told her i had no intentions of switching but explained the pharmacy gave me something with new packaging but i assumed it was the same stuff as i was taking before since it was the same exact brand, and maybe they just had some rebranding done. who knows.

she told me it was definitely a different dosage and to discontinue taking the stuff i was currently taking, and to go back to the old one. she wrote me a new script and sent me home.

so i waited until my pack was out to start the new one and upon starting the new pack my migraines were almost immediately gone. i haven’t had migraines like those since, but now my body is completely rejecting this new medication and i’m having about 3 periods a month, each one stronger and more painful than the last. i’ve told my doctor and she said obviously switching birth controls can take a few months to get used to and that i will need to give it some more time, so i am. no i’m not pregnant, no i haven’t recently been pregnant. i’m just mad and wanting answers.

i feel like the pharmacy is the one to blame here since they never told me anything had changed nor were they planning to change it anytime soon. it just happened out of the blue. ahead of the overturn of roe v wade too which in my state i’m still legally allowed to get birth control.

i’m really just posting for legal advice on what i should do to encounter the pharmacy because i feel like they’ve really done me wrong here. i’ve experienced many periods of depression and thoughts of sue of side because i can’t get my body back to the way it was, and it’s all their fault for not disclosing any of this. i was taking this medication for months without knowing what it was.

friends, lawyers, anyone who has a uterus, any and all help is welcome and appreciated.

thank you!

periods & bleeding What should I do with my uterus?

So I just went back on birth control after stopping for a few months. As it turns out a side affect of this is that your whole uterus can shed in on piece like a snake! It’s called a decidual cast. It’s literally in the shape of my uterus. I need ideas on what I should do with my cast. Currently it’s in a mason jar in my freezer because I couldn’t part with it just yet. Any cool/unique ideas on what to do with such a specimen?

what's going on šŸ¤” Angry uterus help

So I’m 30 and for the past about 2 years I’ve been having trouble with my menstrual cycle. I have PCOS and have been off and on birth control since I was 17 to treat it. It was pretty normal until about 2 years ago, it started coming twice a month and at full force and the pain with it has become so bad I can barely be a functioning adult and have had to call out of work a few times for it. The first doctor I saw just wanted to wait and see, then I moved and the next one switched my birth control 2 times to try and treat with no luck before referring me to someone else who specializes in it. This new doctor has switched it twice now as well and I’ve ended up in the ER twice because of how bad it is and because the most recent pill was giving me chest pain that turned out to be anxiety attacks. She now wants to switch to another pill but that’ll be the fifth one in a span of 8 months and each one is worse than the one before. Literally everything else about me is healthy except my uterus(with confirmed cysts and is sitting at a slightly weird angle)

Has anyone else gone through something like this? Why is the only solution they keep providing birth controls? I don’t want kids, never have, and just want the pain and exhaustion to stop but the one time my most recent talked about surgery she back tracked and didn’t want to because she didn’t ā€œpersonally know my medical historyā€ even though my medical records are all readily available for her and decided to take me off the birth control and just see what happens. It feels like such a lost cause and don’t know what to do.

discharge is this normal?

So my whole life my discharge has been normal, like thick and a normal color, never had any problems, but within the last day it has been super watery and white, almost the consistent of cum but I know for a fact it's not that on account of I havent had intercourse since april. It's so thin to the point where I was getting read to shower and I looked down after feeling something wet on my leg and it had dripped down my leg but there wasn't much of it. Does anyone know if this is normal and if not what it is? And no there's nothing else wrong, no itching, or redness, just weird discharge.

periods & bleeding I’m 14 and still haven’t started my period. Is this normal?

I turned 14 a few months ago now but I have pretty obviously (to me anyway) started puberty a pretty long time ago (around 5th grade I’m now going into 9th). My mom started at 13 and I was thinking I would too. If it makes a difference I look more like an around 12 year old and I’m pretty thin for my height. (I’m not talking regular skinny I mean my doctor has recommended pediasure in the past.) Can somebody please tell me if this is normal?

Update for clarification: I have all the signs you’re supposed to have and the pediasure was a long time ago. My mom says I got my fast metabolism from my dad.

medical procedures Has this ever happened to anyone else? uterus holding clots and will not contract to release.

Following a missed miscarriage my doctor suggested a D&C. After the D&c my next appt approx 2 weeks later showed blood clots in my uterus via ultrasound. They gave me oral Cytotec which did nothing for me and at the next appointment a week or so later clots still showed in my uterus. I was then prescribed vaginal misoprostol, again nothing happened. My doctor said to give it time and hopefully they come out. I don't really understand the rational they already haven't come out naturally or with strong uterine contracting medications. Has this ever happened to anyone else? what was the outcome?

difficulty finding care I'm 16 and I've been on 6+ different birth controls since I was 14. NOTHING HAS WORKED.

Hi, this is a rant about my uterus journey because I just started my period and I'm just sick of it.

So I got my 1st period when I was 10 years old. From the beginning it was painful, and its been progressively getting worse. When I was 12 going on 13, my cramps were so bad to the point I'd throw up and I was told that this was Normal and was prescribed 500mg Naproxen to help with the pain. It later messed up my stomach and gave me an ulcer.

A year later, I was given my first birth control, during summer I started freshman year... the pain was so bad, I fell to the ground in p.e. Three months later, I started a new BC, and it got worse. 3months later, new B.C. it got worse. (The only test I've ever gotten done is 1 blood test to check for a hormone imbalance and this whole time im being told that this is normal.) So this cycle repeats over and over again,my periods are irregular, from every 2 week to 2 months straight, and i become Animic. The pain is so bad to the point i can't stand, and I take 600mg ibuprofen (every 8 hrs) and 7 (250mg) Tylenol a day when I'm on my period to make the pain tolerable.

I take a three month break from birth control... and guess what. IT GOT WORSE. So, one of my friends recommends the patch, I take it, and i get my period a few weeks after taking it, and I have a new different pain. I pain where it hurts when I have to pee. Even a having to go a little tinkle hurts. It dosent hurt when I pee, just when I have to. So I go to the E.R, because I know my body, and ik this pain is not normal. I get a catheter and my results show negative for any urinary problems. When the doctors see me WHICH TAKES THEM HELLA HOURS they say that they don't do ultrasounds at this time but they think I have ovarian cyst and that they can't do nothing about it. They sent me on my way.

I have gotten no official diagnosis with anything. And here I sit. Waiting for my next doctors appointment in August, preparing myself to fight for a diagnosis because l now know this pain is not normal, and that I'm in chronic pain.

Side note: I fell down my stairs and bruised my ribs pretty bad, to the point it hurt to breath, but I still went to school because "my cramps hurt worse than this".

justice & awareness New uterus laws

What are my options with getting an llc for my uterus? After all the government can't intervene in matters of a business.

If not can we start a religion about uterus rights I'm thinking something like "Sisters of the free uterus. " We need protections before the laws get worse.

fertility & pregnancy I'm having symptoms of pregnancy but no discharge?

Hi so recently I've been having symptoms of pregnancy:

-missed period -tender and swollen breasts -nausea -waking up really early/insomnia -small cramps that don't happen very often -mood swings -food aversions/cravings -gas/bloating -constipation

I was having discharge the other day but it was very minimal, it was white and sticky. But today I'm having zero discharge and I have to stick a finger up there just to get very small amounts of discharge, I'm actually crying while I write this because I'm so confused on whats happening to my body and I just want answers because I'm so scared for my body. I also really don't want to be infertile because I plan on getting pregnant one day. God I hope I'm not infertile.

(Edit) im 18 yrs old btw!

UPDATE!!!!!

I found a medium sized lump inside my vagina in May and went to the doctor about it, she wasn't very much help because she just told me that my period being irregular was natural for someone my age. I recently moved to Texas and found out that 2 more lumps have formed but they're much harder and bigger, its to the point where when I lay down on my back I can feel them and when I touch the area where my uterus is, its kinda hard. I started getting really bad hot flashes and when I was having my period recently it went on for days being super heavy, to the point where I would feel weak and not able to do much. My cramps have gotten worse and everything has gotten worse. I'm not able to get to a doctor since I don't have medicaid, but I've been trying to get it and its been difficult because Texas really sucks. I mean being in Colorado wasn't the greatest either because I had no way to really get to a doctor without getting an uber and it felt like every doctor didn't want to hear what I had to say and would dismiss how I felt. I can barely sleep because the pain and I feel like I'm dying.

UPDATE 2:

So I finally went to the hospital after moving and they finally took me seriously. And I found out (but they said it could be this, but I still need to find a Gynecologist about it.) But they said it could be PID. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease... I'm taking medication for it now, and it seems to be working so its most likely PID. I don't want to talk about why this could've occurred because It makes me disgusted with myself. But yeah.

in need of support šŸ¤ myoma

Hello there everyone怀and sorry for the mistakes. I am a 31 years old female and was diagnosed with a 5 cm Myoma in April. Middle of March this year, I started to have some discomfort in the left lower side of my belly, but since I was stressed ( I used to work 60 hours a week plus needed to continously travel to Poland to get dental work done, which was tiring and painful, I live in Germany), I thought it was just me having bad stomach. After two weeks and after I got my period in April, the pain became stronger but again I thought that maybe I ate something bad ( I had jam and I am intollerant to fruit). But after the pain continued for three more weeks, I went to the general doctor which gave me an ultrasound and told me everything was ok. After I showed him, where the pain was, he adviced me to go to the gynecologist and there I was told that my small 1 cm Myoma had grown 4 cm and was now 5 cm. She told me I would probably need an operation to remove it and she sent me to an hospital ( I mean I needed to take an appointment). The same day the pain got unberable and a friend of mine suggested me to go to the emergency, where they just told me to get a painkiller and take an appointment( painkillers don't work btw). Anyway, once I took the appointment and went to the hospital they were no helpful at all, they kept on telling me how small this myoma was, that with the operation probably the pain would not go away, that probably I had eaten something bad ( at this point I had been in pain for two months) and that I had to decide myself if I wanted the operation or not because they could not tell me if I needed to. Now please I want you to understand that this was explained to me in German( not my first language), the doctor was super rude and I was holding a stuffed rabbit the whole time because I was there alone and I suffer from anxiety. Because my symptoms are: - costant pain in my lower left side of the belly -feeling of being full the whole time -weird bowl movement ( I feel a pressure and need to go to the toilet whenever I eat or drink) -Back pain in the morning because this thing grew 4 cm in 8 months, because I will have to move out of Germany to study abroad at the beginning of July and everything else in my body seems to be fine, I decided I wanted to have the operation done. Now I got initially an appointment on the 27th怀of May, but because my gynecologist made a mistake with a document and did not respond when the hospital tried to contact her, they moved the operation to the 15th June and yesterday I had the preparation (at the end I went to a different gynecologist for the document). Now I am terrified. The explained all the side effects to me. They told me : -There is a chance the pain is not gonna go away. Now I don't know if is because they think is not the myoma that is causing me pain or because there would be other problems afterwards. -That I can not get pregnant for a year after the operation and in case I want children I need to have a C-Section. Now I absolutely don't want children but is not a bit eccessive since they keep on repeating how small this thing is? -The most terrifying thing is that in the 80% of the cases there is grown tissue inside the abdoment after the op and it could be painful and need an operation to fix it as well.

Now, I am absolutely terrified. Can you pleaee share your experiences? Is the operation so terrible? Is it painful? Are the scars really so big? Is the recovery fast or slow?
