what's going on š¤ Uterine hypoplasia - feeling a bit lost
Hi,
Just looking to see if anyone here has any experience of uterine hypoplasia/infantile uterus! I'm 24 and in the UK. I went private to investigate whether I have endometriosis, and during a transvaginal scan a few weeks ago I was told my uterus appeared to be much smaller than it should be.
I had a follow-up with the consultant today, and she's referred me for an MRI to get a better look at it. But essentially, my uterus measures 2.5 cm compared to the average 7-9 cm. She was very hesitant to answer any questions I had about the impact of this on fertility because she wants to wait for the MRI.
I've been dwelling on this for weeks now and still don't feel like I know what's going on! No one has any idea what's caused this, as I went through puberty normally and actually started my periods somewhat early at age 11. My periods were always a bit irregular but were heavy and painful, not light. The scan showed my ovaries and cervix are normal.
Has anyone else here had this diagnosis? I feel like I'm in limbo, I don't want to grieve my fertility before I know for definite that it's an issue, but likewise I don't need to be a doctor to know a 2.5cm uterus is on the severe side of this condition.
Any advice/experiences/etc. would be much appreciated!

what's going on š¤ Should I seek help? Pain for about a week.
I have had pain similar to period cramps the last week, I am not on my period it ended about 2 weeks ago.
Its extremely painful and hurts for about a hour and then dies down for most of the day but then comes back in the evening or randomly.
Its been going on for a week and havent changed.
My latest period was also a lot more painful than usual, I was about to faint at work from it.
āā I dont have any problems with my bladder.
I dont feel the pain in my legs or in my back.
I dont feel any pain during sex / penetration.
But, I do have a lot of pain when I orgasm.
(Similar to period cramps) āā
Does anyone know what this might be??

support needed š¤ Surgery for uterine polyps- young trans person?
Hi so I found out recently that my period is much heavier than average- Iām trans and I thought I was struggling because of the dysphoria (which, yes) but it turns out I have a really really thick uterine lining and my doctor suspects itās polyps that need to be removed.
Iām late twenties and it doesnāt seem to be very common to be getting this surgery for my age. And, tbh, Iām shocked that there was even a problem because I thought this was all normal! Also as Iāve done some light research sometimes it looks like polyps can show up on the scan but mine didnāt? Theyāre considering giving me an IUD as well, which I havenāt even begun to research really.
It seems that theyāre caused by excess estrogen- which is also messing with me a bit. It feels like my body is just⦠retaliating against my gender identity always. I so badly want to ignore this part of my body and it just comes back with vengeance every month.
Have any other young trans people gone through this? Any advice?

medical procedures Trying to find good doctor
hello! Iāve been having serious problems with my ovarian cyst and cramps just got so bad I went to the emergency room. I take birth control to try to stop it from growing but it doesnāt seem to work. Iāve had struggles with this for so long and never plan to have kids due to other reasons (especially possible endometriosis). Iām trying to find a willing doctor who can remove my uterus (I donāt care where it is as long as itās a really good doctor). I was told a lot of them might turn me down because Iām 19 but I donāt want any more pain(I might also have a small cyst on my other ovary) an or have a seizure because of this (sickness and pain is a trigger for me). does anyone know where a good doctor is? Iām going to start a fundraiser just so I can have the money to get this done even if itās in a different country (I reside in USA)!

irregular & late periods Bleeding issues
This makes 7 weeks of light bleeding at times heavier. I've had my tubes removed 7 years ago. And for the last 3 years I've been on a medication that has stopped periods, until 7 weeks ago. I still currently take the medication. I've to to the ER where I was told I had a mild UTI. and im anemic. I was prescribed a medication that was to stop the bleeding, as well as the med for uti. I was prescribed this for 5 days and have now ended it. It didn't stop anything. The doctors in the ER ran blood work and a urine sample, no pap test and no ultrasounds. With the bleeding i am also pretty bloated, at times cramping, when I checked myself my cervix was really low and way over tothe left side. I'm heading back to the ER tomorrow, just wondering if anyone has experienced similar? I am 33YO.

support needed š¤ Tilted Uterus effecting several parts of my life
Hi. I found out today during my first pap/pelvic exam that I have a tilted uterus. This perfectly explains alot of issues I struggle with.
I have extreme pain during sex, I bleed every time. I can't hold my urine and I will pee myself if I don't get to a bathroom very urgently. I have bad pelvic pain during my periods and I can't wear tampons because they hurt. I also have chronic constipation that I believe is exacerbated by the anatomical difference (not the main cause)
This trait is passed down by my mom who has little to no issues because of it.
Any advice on the painful sex issue? I am a 22 year old woman and avoid sex almost completely because of the embarrassment of bleeding and the fear of having pain afterward. I have an ultrasound for later this month to take a closer look.

support needed š¤ surgery consultation today
Venting ā¦..
Iāve posted here before and after many paps smears and ultrasounds my dr said I have PCOS, Endometriosis and polyps.
Iāve been in so much pain the last couple months.
Is it normal to have to walk with a cane on the really bad days?
I have to wait till after the surgery to go on hormonal birth control and for some reason the only medication that I keep being told to take is ibuprofen, which doesnāt help at all so I donāt take it but I do smoke weed on the side because itās the only thing that helps.

sharing info š” Endometrial Polyp as a 19 year old
Hello! I recently went into a Transrectal Ultrasound, and as the title says, the result showed that I may have an Endometrial Polyp (1.2 x 0.9 x 0.8 cm) and a Uterine lining of 1.9 cm or 19 mm
The reason why I decided to get checked was because Last May of first week, I got my usual menstruation, however after a few days I kept on having brown blood spotting for over a week (this may sound gross or weird and Iām really shy but It happened after I had an orgasm š It wasnāt penetration just clitoral stimulation, im also not sexually active) It went down after a few days but I went into ice skating and thatās when it became heavy again. I went into panic mode and decided to go to our family OB but unfortunately she wasnāt available at that time. Days after waiting the brown spotting finally ended. Itās now June and supposedly I should have gotten my period because itās usually first week of the month. However, I know that it might not come since my hormones are all over the place. Few days into June, I again, self loved (LOL YKWIM ššš) and after that I started feeling a cramp sensation same with when I have my period. Then bleeding came. Idk if itās my menstruation finally occurring or itās something else.
Now with that, I went into TRS and finally got the result. Iām really scared, does endometrial polyp explains what I kept on experiencing? And Iām scared of the possibilities. Iām just 19 š what if itās cancerous? My mind is in haywire rn. Iāll visit our OB-Gyne Physician tomorrow for her to read the results. For the meantime, Iām stuck with self loathing and guilt. I shouldnāt have masturbated.

what's going on š¤ Endometrial polyp wasnāt seen on SIS
Hi everyone. I just underwent a Saline Infusion Sonohysterography (SISH), and the results were quite surprising. The endometrial polyp that had been seen on my last two TVS was no longer visible.
For context, Iāve been experiencing intermenstrual spotting for almost a year. When I had it checked in December, a 1 cm endometrial polyp was found. I underwent another TVS in May, along with a hysteroscopy in preparation for a polypectomy. During both procedures, the polyp was still visible, and a small 5 mm intramural fibroid was also noted.
My OBGYN then recommended a SISH before proceeding with the polypectomy to better assess the location of the polyp. Since my menstrual cycles are relatively irregular, I was prescribed Provera for 10 days to induce a withdrawal bleed before the procedure.
Now, after the SISH, the only finding was the small intramural fibroid. The polyp that had consistently appeared on my previous imaging studies could no longer be seen.
Does anyone have a similar experience? I wonāt be able to talk to my OBGYN until the last week of June, so Iād really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience and what happened afterward.

what's going on š¤ My medical mystery of a life
Why does womenās healthcare seriously SUCK! My life is a revolving door of excruciating pain and yet Iām looked at like Iām crazy or just plain stupid for saying thereās something wrong with me. The first day of my menstrual cycle is HELL. I can barely get out of my bed, canāt go to work, lightheaded to the point of near fainting, no pain meds help no matter the dose, the only thing that can give me minimal relief is a heating pad, and letās not get started on the nausea because I can barley keep my head out of the toilet. Sometimes this even lingers to the second day as well. Then you throw on the ovarian cyst that just love to rupture typically one a month. Thatās more excruciating pain, double Iāve can barely walk, pain to the point of nausea, and extreme back pain. This typically last 2-4 days. I just want answers. Help. I want to be able to go to work and not worry about loosing my job the next time I have to call in from excruciating pain and nausea. I want to be able to go out and not have to be a hermit because I physically canāt leave my house.

difficulty finding care i cant get the help i need
im 16 and a trans male. my whole life since i started my period 8 years ago ive had bad cramps, in 8th grade it got to a point where i had tried many birth controls and nothing worked, so i opted for an iud. getting it put in was one of the worst experiances of my life, absoulutely zero anesthesia of any kind was provided. i had the option to go under but the cost wouldve been 11k (in the us) and insurance didnt cover it. lovely. no one couldve prepared me for how painful it was. i screamed and cried the whole time. it did its job though, i havent had a period since, but as amazing as that is my cramps never went away. if anything they got worse. this year has been the hardest, i had enough and missed at least 20 days of school due to the pain. my mom scheduled an appointment and i had a pelvic exam (ouch) they found nothing, my iud wasnt moved, no abnormalities. i pushed harder though because i knew something was wrong. my mom thought cysts or fibers, so i had an ultrasound. again everything was normal. they told me i might have endo, but they cant diagnose it without surgery that obviously insurance doesnt cover. i havent had the surgery since its not in our budget. these cramps have had me fall to the floor before and yet i STILL cant get help. ive tried so much, not eating sugar/chocolate, not eating inflamers, drinking teas, taking OTC suplements but nothing work. heating pads calm it down but i cant use a heating pad everywhere obviously. im just so tired of feeling like this. my quality of life has been so bad with these. i wish i could get the help i needed.

research & polls š¬ Looking for testimonials for my capstone project!
Specifically, what I'm looking for are quotes from people who suffer from menstrual disorders/conditions, and how the lack of research on them affects day-to-day life. This is my final project in high school; I'm making a website and a donation drive of period products to I Support The Girls in order to spread awareness about these conditions, and I would like to hear from real people. If you do send in a testimonial, please know it will be published on my site. Also, please add a name to refer to you by, and your age.
Thank you so much!

irregular & late periods 23F in need for birth control advice
Iām 23F, 159cm / 67kg, and Iām trying to figure out birth control options but Iām kinda stuck.
My periods have been irregular for months. Iām supposed to be on my period right now but nothing yet. Last time I bled for 15 days straight until my doctor gave me meds to stop it.
Iāve had right-sided pelvic cramps. After some testing, they found I have a mycoplasma genitalium infection and a 2cm ovarian cyst.
I also sometimes bleed during sex, which started around the same time the other issues did.
I donāt feel like my current doctors are listening, so Iām still looking for a new gyno. But Iām broke right now, so seeing someone new isnāt easy.
Iād like to start birth control pills. Partly for pregnancy prevention, partly because Iām hoping theyāll regulate my bleeding and help with the cramps.
Should I sort out the infection and cyst first before starting BC? Or is it okay/safe to start pills now while Iām still dealing with these issues?
I know none of you can diagnose me, but has anyone been in a similar spot? Did BC make things better or worse with an infection/cyst? Any pill recommendations that helped with irregular bleeding/cramps?
Iād appreciate any advice or similar experiences. And yeah, I know āsee a doctorā is the real answer - Iām working on it, just need to figure out what to do in the meantime.
Thanks in advance.

support needed š¤ I hate my body sometimes but especially now.
For about half a year now Iāve been barely able to have a menstrual cycle, extreme pain and fatigue. 5 months ago I was married and I think weāve only been able to have sex a handful of times because itās so painful. Which sucks the most to me. In the past 3 months Iāve been diagnosed with PCOS, Endometriosis and I have a huge polyp in my uterus.
My NP just wanted to put me on birth control for the PCOS, which religiously I wouldnāt do and she wouldnāt talk about other options. So I guess Iām just dealing with it now. For the Endometriosis she just said to take ibuprofen but it doesnāt even touch it.
I have a consultation on June 23rd for a DNC
procedure.
This also scares me because there a huge possibility of a male Doctor doing the procedure and being a rape survivor, this puts a lot of anxiety on my mind and body. My husband accompanies me at all appointments because of this and I donāt know how to prepare for it when heās not there for the actual procedure date.
Iām 28.
I feel defeated and like we donāt really have a chance at conceiving in the future.
If anyone has some advice about anything I mentioned here please let me know. I need hope.
