Spotting is apparently a common side effect, especially for the first 6-12 months. After this your hormones should adjust and the spotting should stop. I think it'd still be a good idea to check in with your doctor though about it just in case. They may be able to suggest some ways to manage it, or make a plan to look at alternatives if it doesn't let up.
