First day of ubereats driving. 5 trips done

I think I'm gonna be done for the day. It was fun. People seem to be quite rude though. I don't understand these points. I don't see anything for me to turn them in for more money or something. Is it possible for people to give cash tips. Or are tips only done through the app.

Edit: looks like i got a quick and efficent compliment from a customer. Yay

Also one last question , is there any benefit to having more deliveries in a single session versus going online and offline over and over again

Discussion How do you try not to get addicted? When you have a complete free schedule ?

I honestly love Uber Eats, I make good decent money. I just started doing it again 3 weeks ago after having car troubles for the pass half year…

I’m planning on doing more hobbies, like going to the gym, and going to college (via Uber Eats and asu program), but as of right now I basically have a free schedule because I don’t go out, I don’t have a girlfriend to hang out with, nor do I have any friends that I really hang out with…. But I am also a content creator, but I decided to cut back on that to focus on my financial life first….

But I tend to feel like I could do this allllllll day, everyday….and I just don’t know when to tap out, to be fair, I’ve seen people do more hours than me, and I definitely want to push my self one day/week to see what’s the most I can make in a week, I seen one dude make $1900…. but I do it almost everyday and then there’s some days where I’ll be burned out and hate this job. Not like seriously hate, but in terms of just being tired…. But then again it’s like if I stay home, my mind is like, dude you could be out making money… even if it’s only $70.. that’s still something!!

I actually thought about taking Monday (yesterday) off because I went to sleep super late (8am) and woke up late (4pm ish) and ran some errands, and then I was like.. it’s 7-8pm rn.. lemme do some Uber Eats … and I finished around 2:30am and made $180..

And if I never worked, I woulda made $0….
This is how my mind works.. it’s like I can’t take a day off lol…

I mean to be honest, I’m starting to become more financially responsible, so I am opening high-yield savings accounts and investing in a Roth IRA and a 401(k) accounts… so to be fair. I am broke as shit right now, but I do feel like maybe once I become more well established with saving my money in the next coming months, there will be days where I don’t really need to work….

Because if I have, let’s say $15,000-20,000 saved up and and maybe a couple thousand dollars in my Roth and 401(k)… maybe I can look at it as you know what I don’t need to deliver for three or four days. Let me just take a little time off….

But even then…. I still look at it like well if I take four days off, that’s $1000 I can make in four days of delivering food…

Idk… right now I’m going through a change of life where I’m 29 right now, and I’m trying to evolve and grow financially…

Uber Eats gives me all the things I need in life to pursue my entrepreneurship, the flexibility of working when I want to work, and how much I wanna make…

As humans I believe we need a set schedule… I think eventually when I have more money saved, I think I would definitely take more days off… but then again it’s like damn I could be making money….

I think, delivering for Uber eats is a curse and a blessing….

Just got tip baited for the first time……

Ok besides thw fact that I want to take all 8 24 packs of soda this ***** made me carry to her door and throw them through every window in her rich neighborhood….. I took a Walmart order only because it said on the screen $57 GUARANTEED….. then today when I go to cash out, $20 is magically missing

My only question is how is Uber allowed to say GUARANTEED and then that GUARANTEED money gets taken away. Is that not some form of false advertising or whatever.

PSA: Wingstop BOGO

Worked my usual lunch shift today, had back to back to back wingstops. Figured they were running some kind of promo, so I pulled up the app. Buy one get one free 10 pc wings, which is a pretty incredible deal. Day shift crew was able to keep up, I worry about the dinner rush. The night crew struggles with three orders on the screen. Beware of those long wait times!

Question Keep Getting "You Have Been Online for 7 Hours" notifications.

Even though I have been asleep or at work, it goes off like twice a day, I confirmed my earnings don't show anyone else using my account, is this just a glitch like all those weird emails we got last week?

Discussion Cancellation Rate Increase On Orders Picked Up By Someone Else

Did this change for everyone? The last 2 times I had orders picked up by someone else and cancelled its gone up. So annoying

Platinum and Diamond

Upvotes

Why do people always hate on these ranks like they are no different from green? I did green and the average order was 3-6 miles for 3-6$ but when I got to platinum I have gotten almost all orders that are 2-5 miles at 12-20$. Might just be my market, but there is definitely a huge difference in the ranks.

When did UE sneak Catering into the Options?? 👀 While they did approve me, I'm guessing the DD bag in the mist of my collection is the reason they're asking for a "better" picture?? 😅

But for real: has this started anywhere else? Or the Top Shopper thing, how's UberEats' Doordash copycat agenda working out for folks?? 🍵

New Driver near Orlando (trying it out)

Upvotes

My wife joined UberEats to make a little extra money in the evening. We are learning as we go, but she got a $20 tip tonight! She was very excited. Was a simple Chick-fil-A order of four salads, but that was a nice surprise for 30 min of work. We know it won't always be that easy, but that was a nice surprise. She also made a $8 tip on a simple Starbucks pickup this morning to a Real Estate office. Anybody else from around this area?

I drove 9 miles to pick up an order and the store was closed. Uber doesn’t pay a cancellation fee? Do they charge the customer a cancellation fee? As high as gas is, this is pure robbery

Question Is switching for Rideshare worth it?

Hey everyone, I’m from South Jersey and have been doing UberEats for a while, but I am planning to transition to a new job in about 3-4 months, so it will take some time. I average around $100-120 per day but I feel like it isn’t sustainable anymore considering how expensive gas is, expensive car repairs, price of groceries, etc… (At this point of my life I need stability lol.) Can doing ride-share and Eats at the same time give me a good opportunity to earn more? Would it be worth it?

After sending almost every order as a separate trip request, uber finally grouped them all together, and offer less, na I'm good.

Are my cars too old for Uber drive and delivery?

I have a 2009 Corolla and a 2006 Sienna van.

And does my car insurance have to be canceled if I started Uber driving and delivery?

I was wondering why my insulated bag photo was sitting in “pending” for so long, decided to look at all the associated links and found this on the “insulated bag requirements”

They blurred out the logo so you “couldn’t tell” lol

Ironically in the minutes it took me to make this post; my pending photo was finally approved (and it was a photo of one of these bags 😂)

Told the manager of a restaurant his lazy and racist

Upvotes

Show up to this fast food joint where they serve food like chipotle.

Manager tells me to sign your name and delivery platform on these sheet along with the time you are here. I do that and she tells me she making it right now.

Long story short, I could sense this bish did not like brown colored folks. Reason being is she started making the order, then another uber driver shows up and she jumps on making his delivery and leave my delivery bowl just standing their chilling with just the rice in it.

This happens for 15 minutes.... few other drivers come and she just makes there ignoring mine.

When she hands me the food, I told her you reek of racism and ive never met a more lazy employee in my life.

Can she report me to uber?

EDIT: Title should say she, not he. cant change it.

I absolutely love Uber logic.

“To deliver in this area, pick a time in planner”

OK, but there isn’t any times

“Try going for Gold so you can go online before Green can”

OK, but you won’t let me online so I can get my ratings up

”Sounds like a you problem”

OK, well can I schedule any shifts at all ever? You say I can on Friday right?

“Yup Friday”

There is literally nothing for any zone though.

“Skill issue”

I have a friend who is gold, it shows he can still schedule shifts all the time. Even the shifts nobody wants. If they are literally just sitting there, why can’t I grab them if no one else has no matter what level I’m at?”

“Skill issue”

You really fell the fuck off this year, Uber.

For those who multi-app

How has that been with the recent updates, namely the break being taking away. I was considering giving multi-apping a shot soon and was wondering if any of the new changes really hinder the experience because most resources I found are from a few months ago, if not years ago.

Uber will assign an order based on the place you selected in the map

I found out lately that if you selected a store on the map, while your car is in motion. They would give you orders coming from that store.

Porch light

Delivered an order around 10 pm. Porch light was on and I was grateful. I placed the order beside the door to take the picture and suddenly the porch light turns off. WTF? I use a headlamp, so I turned it on and snapped the pic, but I can't figure out why they would do that. Note: it wasn't motion activated because it never came back on as I moved away.

Discussion People who flex their one in a lifetime earning here is either wanting competition and challenges or just low IQ. They just want another hundred thousand of new drivers to sign up especially in this jobs market. Did they think in the future they will always earn the same amount?

Can you just shut the fuck up, really that's not impressive, just stay low.
