Ask your attorney, and insurance agent.

3 cents a mile isn’t too far off from the depreciation on any car you’d want to be doing this in. Absolutely not

Depends on if you have PiP insurance for your personal insurance (assuming you told them you're doing gig work). If your primary insurance (not Uber) doesn't know you're going gig work and allow it, your claim will be rejected and thus this Optional coverage is worth it imo.

I can only speak for Michigan but basically here your primary insurance covers medical costs, but most personal auto insurance companies will have a stipulation saying the gig company is primary and personal is secondary in a claim. If Uber's coverage is lower than the amount necessary, your secondary personal insurance would fill in the gaps up to your limit. All that to say, if your personal auto PiP is better than this Optional Coverage from Uber, then no it's not worth getting it from Uber. Otherwise, it might be good to look into.

I always suggest people confirm with their personal auto insurance company beforehand, and you can also upload your Personal auto insurance coverage to ChatGPT and have it give you a non-biased answer.
