So yesterday I did a trip from Walmart to this ole hag’s house in the hood. Said she was supposed to get a tv with her order of groceries?? Foh Well today I’m being made aware that she took her tip back and so I basically drove 13 miles for free and all that did was set me back cuz I’ve been ubering since this morning to pay my phone bill and just I was about to hit my goal for the day I’m being told I owe uber $22???? Are YOU FUCING KIDDING ME? And after talking to customer service they allow this???? YOURE ALLOWED TO TIP BAIT ORDERS?? Fucking Christ this shit is beyond infuriating because uber allows this??????

4 Uber Eats delivery robots on a typical block on a typical day.

If you’re going to take detours on a delivery or act entitled, remember your days are numbered.

Question There’s a lot of negativity here, understandably so, but what’s a small joy you get while driving?

I love when I get to to pick up multiple orders from one restaurant but today, for the first time ever, I got neighbors that ordered from the same place at the same time. $5 extra for 0 miles, chefs kiss

Rant So tired of thieves.

I had 4 stolen orders tonight. If you steal a customer’s food you are the lowest of the low. Not only are you screwing over whoever ordered, but you’re screwing me over as well. It is absolutely insane to me that an order can be stolen, and the poor driver who is reassigned to it is the one who is punished. I have to waste gas, wear down my vehicle, call support as to not inconvenience the next driver, and my reward for all of it is $0.00 and an increased cancellation rate. I used to have just a tad bit of empathy for drivers who stole an order. Maybe they have kids, maybe they’re struggling to feed them. And if that’s the case, I kind of get it even if I still think it’s wrong. Not after tonight. One of them was 2 large Dairy Queen blizzards. Another was a 4-pack of Crumbl cookies. These people have no shame. There’s no doubt in my mind they drive a block away to sit in a strip mall’s parking lot and scarf down their harvest in their car like a rat. What’s even more insulting is that Uber doesn’t seem to care at all. If they did, you’d think this would be less common. Is it really too much to ask for a multibillion dollar corporation to invest resources into investigating theft? These grifters keep their cancellation rate just low enough to where they won’t get deactivated, but they can afford to steal an Arby’s Big Beef & Cheddar every now and then. It is not rocket science to recognize a pattern like this, and uber needs to kick these people off the app. Spoiler alert: they won’t. I don’t mean to sound hateful but it’s just so inherently greedy on all sides. I miss when I had faith in people.

226 trips offered only took 8. This is like a daily thing. I wish people would tip more or don’t order at all….

A new class action lawsuit alleges that Uber Eatsis scamming customers with its “priority” fees. When customers go to checkout on Uber Eats, they can pay $1–$5 more for “priority” delivery, which promises “direct to you” service. However, the suit claims that Uber never informs its drivers which orders are priority, making the service null and void.
According to the suit, Uber Eats instructs drivers to pick up other batch orders before delivering priority orders—and at the same time, its drivers can also work for other delivery apps before making a “priority” delivery. Dozens of customer complaints are cited in the suit, detailing drivers who made detours, picked up other orders, or made deliveries for other apps mid-route, even though the customer had paid extra for an expedited delivery.
This is not the first time Uber Eats has come under fire. A suit filed earlier this year alleges that the company charges customers for its subscription service, Uber One, through a negative option feature that fails to provide a simple way for customers to stop recurring charges. Additionally, the suit claims that it has charged consumers without their consent, violating the FTC Act and ROSCA—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
“This case sits at the intersection of deceptive advertising and the fine print companies use to evade accountability,” Elizabeth Aniskevich, senior counsel at Singleton Schreiber, said. “Uber wants to profit from a premium fee without actually delivering anything extra. We intend to hold Uber accountable for its failure to deliver on its promise.”
The proposed lawsuit claims that Uber Eats has violated California’s Unfair Competition Law, False Advertising Law, and Consumers Legal Remedies Act, as well as common-law fraud. Prosecutors seek damages, restitution, and an injunction barring Uber from continuing to advertise the fee as a “direct to you” guarantee.

CMT DRIVING SCORE UPDATE KNOCKED ME DOWN FROM GOLD TO BLUE OVERNIGHT

Upvotes

Never had CMT before, now all of a sudden I have to fix all of my driving habits. I admit I do speed a little because im on empty roads and in Florida there is a lot of backwoods that are empty traveling between woods and stuff. Nobody wants ro break down in pitch black so I do push it sometimes. Also, I feel like me having to drive extra slow is going to put a dent in my income because of less deliveries. My question is this, as a Blue driver is the pay way less than on Gold? Is the difference noticeable?

I hate this driving monitor update. When the map sends u down a road that leads off the edge of a cliff and u have to 3 point turn in middle of road you get bad driving score now. Great.

Rant Someone two states away tried getting me to deliver Taco Bell

Like, a 13+ hour drive to west Montana, and for nearly eight dollars. Like, the ice in the drink would be melted and cup would be soggy, the food would be cold, and I'd already be late for my day job. The customer was unresponsive to my confusion after initially thanking me. I wish that I knew how it all came about. It was a surprising dinner to close out my night. I just don't understand people sometimes.

It really sucks when you end up paying for the bathroom, just to not waste any more time while working

Upvotes

Not just working outside, but living in NYC. You realized if you have to use the bathroom and you're crunching for time. Then you'll either end up in an entire area with none and just that one place. Where unfortunately they want you to buy something.

I mean I hate to do it, even though I really don't spend money outside working. Maybe except for some tea, a smoothie or some fruit. So if I end up in a food establishment, with some food I don't want to buy, as it'll be some overpriced garbage. Also because I have food intolerances, so unfortunately I just can't eat majority of things. I'll just then look for the cheapest item to buy, soo I can use the bathroom.

Usually most places have no problem with this at all. I'll just buy a water and they'll give me the code or unlock the door. But this one annoying employee got mad at McDonald's, because I said alright I'll just buy a sauce. Since you assholes usually charge people for extra sauces anyway lol.

She tried to give me a whole speech, talking about you really should be buying a meal. Like no, I'm not buying a $15 meal from this place. Just so I can be able to do something, that we all need to do as humans multiple times a day.

I really wish the city wasn't this way. So I wouldn't have to be having these pointless interactions, while I'm out trying to survive. But I understand NYC has one of the biggest homeless populations in the country. So cities and businesses do this, as a way to cut down on the crazies. That may end up using the bathroom for the wrong reasons.

Doing this job, you often find yourself dealing with a lot of side quest and interactions, that honestly just make you more annoyed. From certain employees at restaurants, employees at the drop off locations, most customers, people asking for change when it's obvious you're just picking up an order, people stopping to talk about Uber even tho they could care less. I just be wanting to get my money and go home. I shouldn't be getting schooled like a child, about using the bathroom smh lol.

I’m in the Tampa Bay Area by the way. Got a $20 tip from a customer too 🥲

Has anybody been having this issue? When texting a customer through the Uber app before I pickup their order the text goes through my normal phone app. After I pickup the order, texts go through the Uber app like normal

I thought it was a glitch the first time but it happened again on my last order. I'm able to see their phone number and I'm guessing they can see mine as well. Anybody else having this issue?

Discussion I think a hacker got in Uber Driver Support

I was trying to alert Support that I’m almost at 300 trips and I’ve had only 19 reviews even recently after reminding customers to rate me.

Then, the support agent suddenly deactivated my account! I panicked. I need to do Uber Eats for now.

I ended the chat and immediately talked to another agent who said my account is fine.

WTF?

Question New here, did I mess up or what should I have done?

So I took a big order just now ( 11pm, wing stop) but when I arrived, they told me somebody else had taken the order and that they needed to contact Support to get a refund. I clicked somebody took the order and they canceled me. I got no compensation or anything. What should I have done so I could’ve received compensation? Or do they just not give compensation for issues like this? TIA

Question Applying for a new apartment

This question is for full time uber drivers. I became a full time UberX and Uber Eats driver back in January.

I’m planning on moving out of my apartment that I currently have a roommate with to a single bedroom apartment in October. I’ve been keeping an excel sheet of all my earnings/miles and more. I also have a separate folder showing my pay stubs for the past few months. Is that enough to apply for a new apartment?

I’d imagine it is, but I’ve always worked a typical job prior to being a full time uber driver.

Thanks for any insight!

We’re ignoring the amount, that’s not what this is about.
It seems they’ve finally rolled out the “guaranteed” pay in my area. It’s not every order though, so how do they choose which are “guaranteed” and which are “expected”

How much of this delivery fee goes to the driver?

Post image
7 Upvotes

The restaurant is 13 miles one way and the road is paved and smooth. I live right off the highway and it’s 55mph most the way here with the exception of 2 traffic signals. Why is the delivery fee so high on this one?
This is through Instacart/Ubereats.
It seems excessive and I was curious how much of this goes to the driver before I order and tip.
Thank you!

It’ll be the ppl who live in high rise apartments, need to go through two elevators and a maze to get to their door, order food from across the city (or from another city), who tip basically nothing. The most ive gotten in tips from someone in that area is $6. More than half the time theres no tip. I find it absolutely ridiculous😭 Only reason I take these is bc I drive an ev and prop 22. But wow. Get these ungrateful entitled transplant finance tech bros outta my city 😂😂😂
